"Wait, Jesse don-don't you think this isn't a good idea?"
"No, I think it's a great idea; You get to spend more time with your daughter, we get to show our daughter that she doesn't have to worry about our relationship, and I'm closer to work here," Jesse stated as she crosses her arms across her chest staring at Adam for an answer.
"I-fine I guess but why can't you just live somewhere else? I got lots of work to do plus I don't know if you forgot but we divorced a year ago now you suddenly want to live together again?"
"I don't know anyone that lives in New York besides you and I'm not going to get in your way. I'm only here for work not for you, okay?"
"Right, but still like I could rent you an apartment here or somethi-"
Before Adam had the chance to finish his sentence he felt a little tug on his pants. He looked down and saw the little girl, Emma, looking up at him with watery eyes.
"Daddy, you don't want me here?"
Adam looked down at little Emma and squatted down to her eye level.
"No no Emma I do want you here." He says while holding her little hands in reassurance.
"Then-then why are you trying to take me and mommy away?"
"Oh sweetie no I'm not trying to take mommy away." Adam looks up at Jesse for some assistance and then back down at Emma. "It's just that right now a lot of problems are going on here so I want to ensure that both of you are safe."
"Aren't we safe here with you daddy?"
"Of course you are sweetie what your father is trying to say is that he won't be with us a lot due to work." This time Jesse stepped in.
"Yes, that is correct, and because of that, I'm afraid that you will get bored here or something that's all" Adam explained.
"Oh don't worry I won't get bored. I never get bored when I'm with my daddy and mommy." Emma said excitedly.
This made both parents laugh. They looked at each other then back at Emma. Adam hugged Emma and said. "Okay then, kiddo as long as your happy we're happy. Now go on unpack your things in your room."
Emma jumped in excitement she had a huge smile on her face. She nodded in agreement and ran off giggling as she went to go unpack her things.
"Well, that settles it. I guess I'm staying." Stated Jesse.
"I guess you are," Adam said standing up.
"Don't worry Adam it's only for two weeks no more no less. I'm sure you could live with me for two weeks without dying."
"We don't know for sure. Guess we just have to wait and see." Adam said sarcastically with a smirk. Jesse just rolled her eyes and was about to talk back at him before his phone started ringing suddenly.
