"Why are you here?" Ray glared at Carl as he walked into the room. Ever since their last encounter, where Ray hit Carl, the two hadn't seen each other. Carl hadn't visited the hospital since Ray had forbidden him, and their group had disbanded after Wilfred announced he was ending his contract with Prime Entertainment. The breakup came as no surprise to anyone but Emmanuel, though Mrs. Williams had arranged other shows for him.
"It's important," Carl said, knowing Ray's anger was justified. After his conversation with Josephine, Carl realized that the "Darknet" was not something he could fight or even investigate alone. That's why he came to the hospital, hoping to speak with Bella's mother, not Ray.
