Chapter 20 - chapter 20

Augustine's pov

I kept my calm. It's not very angelic to lose my calm, but then again, I'm not that kind of angel.

I'm trying to keep calm for her, for Jade. She thinks I'm those kind of angels she reads in the bible. Flying around in their toga outfit with long curly blonde hair.

I snorted, I almost made myself laugh. I think I'll die before I dye my hair blonde.

The persistence of this guy is unbelievable, I had to say something before I lose it. He's practically telling Jade she didn't have a choice. What an asshole!

I had about just enough of what I can take and…here it goes…I filled my lungs with calming breath, I don't do this all time since it was unnecessary, but if I want this prick to go away without snapping his neck, I'm going to have to whisper.

"We already talked about this, I'm taking Jade home." I said smoothly, using my power of influence. My whisper.

He soaked it in like water on earth. Easy. James left the room like an idiot high on weed.

That's right punk, leave me a Jade alone.

Jade stared at me, I can feel her prickling eyes sending ripples all over me and I didn't even have to look at her. I lingered for a few seconds, pretending unaware of her stare.

That's right, bathe your eyes on me because I like it. I like it when you're staring at me wishing I'd give you my attention.

A few more seconds….

…and now, I turned my head acting oblivious to what just happened. You looked at me searching for answer, staring in my eyes.

Be careful, Jade. You will fall in love.

I returned your stare, careful not to stare for too long because if I stare a second too long you might get freaked out. But you kept that searching stare at me as though you were expecting an answer.

I don't have an answer for you, Jade. And even if I do, I won't tell you what I just did.

"Common, Jade. Let's take you home."

My ride was a damn bicycle I picked up unattended on the side of the road.

Damn!

Why haven't I thought this through. I could've driven a BMW or something. One of those luxury cars human males with tiny penises drove. Oh, that's right! I didn't want you to think I have a tiny penis. I have an angelic penis for crying out loud. Most humans don't think angels have sexual organs but we do. How else are we going to function if we became human?

I have a bicycle because I was trying hard to convince everyone I'm a high school student even though I could pass for a twenty-five-year-old man.

I let out a sigh. Who am I kidding? I really haven't thought this through.

Jade murmured beside me, as we stood at the bike parking, jerking the damn thing because the pedal got stuck on the rail.

Goodness, gracious this is embarrassing!

"Are we going home on a bicycle?" She asked hesitantly.

No, I could wrap my arms around you and take you to the sky, we can fly away from here and make it seemed like it's another one of your dreams, but I'd rather not do that.

I've decided, Jade. And I'm sticking to it. You're going to get to know me, no more stalking you in your bedroom when you're asleep.

Dammit, this thing wouldn't budge!

I gave it another yank and finally, it was loose.

"There," I breathed, daring not to make any eye contact. I think I made enough fool of myself. "Hop on."

You looked at me amused.

Please don't look at me like that.

"Or, we could walk?" I offered instead. I preferred walking anyway, we can take our time getting to your house.

I saw a smile, tugging on your lips, and yes, Jade! You look beautiful when you smile.

"I would prefer that." You said to me, and I smiled back.
