Fenrir walked through a barren desert with Anubis beside him.
"Are you even certain he'll be here after Chaos destroyed the old world?" Fenrir glances over to Anubis.
"Father and Ra are the old two who are able to keep track of Apophis. I hate to say it but I believe it." He replies, both unknowingly walking though an invisible barrier.
As the two stepped through and continued for about five minutes, both stopped at the top of a tall dune, sensing something ominous.
"You feel it, do you not?" Anubis asks as his hand slowly begins to tremble.
"I haven't felt something this… Dark… Not since Chaos had been released." He looks around at first, seeing nothing but sand. "We walked through a barrier… So I'm assuming we're close."
"Thanks to you I've been bored out of my mind in this cursed desert…" A deep an menacingly unfamiliar voice spoke from bellow them. The two were certain they were alone, however, Fenrir felt at ease almost. The voice had no hostility or murderous intent. The dune began to tremble, causing them to lose balance and slide downhill until landing at the bottom. Fenrir looks up as the dune erupts upward, sending sand in every direction. "Hmmm. You're thinner than I had expected for a God…"
Fenrir brushes off he sand off his face and turns back, stopping mid turn as he was greeted by a reptilian slit eye the height of twenty grown men. "That's just about rude coming from a snake like you…"
Anubis stood behind Fenrir, his mouth dropped and eyes wide. "We're going to die…" he mumbled to himself, then feeling the eye shift onto him.
Meanwhile not too far behind, Jayce walked through the door his father went through, seeing a colossal desert before him. "Are you sure he went through here?"
Dogma stood beside him at the door. "I'm sure he did. Anubis took him to find Apophis…" She went from looking at the desert to looking at Jayce. "Are you sure you don't want to go with Terek and Celestyn?"
Jayce glared into the desert. "I'm certain. I have a lot of questions for you both, but I have this weird feeling." He reaches back to the hilt of his folded up scythe that he had latched to the back of his belt. Gently gripping it. "It feels like that time when I was a kid…"
"I won't stop you. But take this…" Dogma held out her hand, holding a talisman in the palm of her hand. "Unlike your father, you won't be able to withstand the heat from the desert he went in."
"You show up and tell me you're my mother and he's my father… Now you're giving me a talisman to withstand the heat…"
Before he could go on his tangent, she interrupts him mid sentence. "This was my brothers when he was alive and before he his transformation as a kid…"
Jayce looked at his uncles talisman. "When this is all over, I do want answers…. but will you tell me about him?" Without looking he could already tell, his mother now had a small smile.
"Of course. Now if you're going to go, now's your chance. I just sensed them walk into his barrier." Jayce nods then takes the talisman and puts it around his neck.
He begins to walk through coarse sand of the desert in front of him. The sound of something rumbling in the distance. "Well I know where they're at now." He takes off into a sprint, changing into his wolf form mid way for increased speed.
A couple minutes of running pass as he finally feels himself crossing the barrier, then tripped over something which causes him to tumble down a dune, landing on the bottom and transforms back. "What the hell was that…" He scratches his head and looks up to see the massive eye staring down on him, the light in the whole area blocked out by a serpents head.
"Hmmm. It seems you have brought another one to introduce…" The serpent calls out to them.
"You're very insistent on coming with me weren't you?" A familiar voice speaks behind him. Jayce turns around seeing Anubis and his father, Fenrir with the serpent above them.
Jayce was speechless and felt himself sweating bullets. Not from the heat, but from his he pressure that was now being pressed into him.
"Apophis! Is there anyway you can transform? I think your aura is two much for Jayce and even Anubis." Fenrir calls out to the serpent who thinks for a moment.
"I suppose I could. I do enjoy watching my prey tremble before me.." The serpent pouts then raises its head. Its scales beginning to peel and fall into the sand, some of its scales explode into sand themselves as they fall and fade. As the colossal serpents body dissipates, it leaves behind a dark silhouette in which began to take form from the sand. The silhouette takes on a black suit and a deep red tie. Black suit pants and shiny black shoes. His features finally take form of that of a slender and narrow face. His eyes still reptilian like slits for pupils. His hair slicked back into a pony tail.
"I wanted to play around with your boy more but it's time to get serious I suppose." Apophis stretched his arms and cracked his knuckles. "Hmm. This body is a bit ancient but it will do…" He looks over to Fenrir as he withdraws his aura to allow Jayce and Anubis to relax."Now then… Shall we talk somewhere more… Comfortable?" He asks, snapping his newly formed fingers of his right hand, as a pyramid begins to take shape behind him. Layer after layer pushing itself out of the ground.
