Chapter 70 - Spirit Magic

Sitting on top of the head of the colossal sand dragons head, Jayce kept his eyes forward as the trio sped through the massive desert of the South. Meanwhile, Sir Fendwyr and Princess Celestyn sat in an elvish carriage as they had just arrived to the Elven Castle of Milalnoris.

"Princess, We're here." Sir Fendwyr gently nudged the princess to wake her up from her nap. He opened the carriage side door and stepped out, seeing two rows of Elf Royal guards in bronze colored armor with hints of green on their clothes. The first two stood facing the carriage and wore golden armor. Fendwyr could only assume these two were captains.

"We are here to escort you and the princess to the Royal Council room, Sir Fendwyr." The one on the left spoke. This one was shorter than most and had a soft but demanding voice. "I am Vera, Captain of our Queens Royal Guard."

"And I am Vento. Captain of our Kings Royal Guard." Both hen knelt before the carriage as the princess stepped out.

"Thank you both Vera and Vento." Fendwyr held his hand out to help her down then watched as she stood in front of the two captains. "Are the King and Queen waiting in the Council room?" She asked softly.

"Of course." The two captains stand. Vento began to walk forward as Vera stood aside. One taking the lead while the other followed behind.

The walk from the Palace courtyard where they were originally standing to the Royal Council room took about fifteen minutes to walk to. Every elf, man and woman, glanced at the princess and her royal guard as they walked through the palace. After the long walk, the two captains now took their positions on each side of a double door and held the handles, slowly opening them to the Council room. Once the doors opened, the room was almost empty except for four standing figures.

"Celestyn…." A feminine voice called out from the other side of the room. Celestyn's eyes adjust to the lighting, revealing not only the king and queen, but Princess Kara, a short female elf who still looked like a child, and an older Male Elf with a long white beard and short hair.

Celestyn looked toward the small girl who was walking over to her. "I'm a little jealous… I don't know if I should say you've changed or not." She said softly trying to smile.

Princess Kara smiled as she rushed over and hugged her. "I'm so sorry Celestyn…"

The two hugged for a moment before the King and Queen walked over. The Old Elf still stood in the back by the chairs facing the doors.

"I know it's been a long time Princess and this war with the dwarves has only gotten worse now with what happened, but before your father passed, he contacted us." This caught princess Celestyn's attention as the two childhood friends stopped hugging. Princess Kara backs up and stands beside her mother, Queen Velrose. "With his death, the world is going through a change…."

"I know… My uncle murdered my father to become king… I'm able to summon Wolf Spirits fully… And with the goddess' visit.. I know the world is changing." She looked down with her arms crossed.

The eyes of the bearded elf in the back widen for a moment. "Child… Did you say Wolf Spirits?"

Celestyn closed her eyes as one of the spirit wolves began to take shape beside her. It stood taller than her and the King himself.

"Child… Those are not just Spirits.. Your red eyes and white hair can only mean one thing… Those are your siblings." The old Elf walks over to her all while being stared at the towering Wolf spirit. The eyes were red as well while the body was a faded blue.

King Ember glances over to the old elf and the princess. "Father… Her mother passed after childbirth…"

"He's not wrong. I found out myself not too long ago" she opened her eyes, the red glowing slightly as she looked into the kings eyes. "What I'm about to tell you might be hard to believe. My mother isn't dead, rather, she's the Goddess of the Sun. And I do have siblings from her."

The King stared into her eyes. No traces of lies or deceit lingered in either her voice or her eyes alone. "Does this mean what I think it does…. Father?"

His father, the bearded old man, stepped away for a moment to think. As he was thinking, the wolf that stood beside Celestyn began to walk around the room. "It's hard to believe I'm able to summon my siblings like this.." She watched the wolf as it examined the room.

"Princess…. I just thought you had Mirage Magic.." Fendwyr muttered between the two.

"I did too… I suppose it's something else." She spoke softly.

"You have a rare kind of Magic that hasn't been used in centuries. Spirit Magic or as some call it, Celestial Magic." The old man turned back around, greeted by the towering wolf. The wolf looked as if it were about to speak before turning around and disappearing into glowing dust. "I understand what is going on…"

Kara looks over to her grandfather with a worried look. "What do you mean?"

The room fell silent for several moments before he opened his mouth to answer. "The Goddess is trying to awake the Old Wolf God."

Princess Celestyn's eyes widen. She had heard tales from travelers in banquets through the years speak of tales of the Old Wolf God. "My mother told me my siblings lived in another continent and I've heard travelers speak of tales from there."

"Child. Those were not tales. If the Goddess has shown herself, that can only mean he exists as well." The old man walks over to her and gently places his hand on her head.

"Grandfather, what do you mean He?" Kara looked up at him curiously. She has only heard a couple of the tales from her father, King Ember, but she only knew them as tales.

"Once known to have destroyed a world before ours was created, His old world name was written down as Fenrir." The grandfather looked over at his son and and granddaughter. "The Goddess has set a plan in motion, I'm certain I'm not the only one who has sensed this.
