Chapter 59 - The Wife Market ~ Sinbad x Reader (Part 4)

Since I had arrived in Sindria, I had loved everything. Not only because of the food and my comfy bed, but because it was a beautiful country. It sure was a change from home. I was living in the palace from day one, and everyone here has treated me so wonderfully. My room is grand, beautifully decorated in (f/c)s and (2f/c)s. The room itself is probably bigger than my old house. If I didn't have to work, I would spend all day in bed. It's so soft. Plus there's lots to do in the city.

Coincidentally my room is just two doors away from Sin's. Ja'far's room is between us, he's been training me as his assistant. I hate all the paperwork though. I can be serious about it, but most of the time I just want to run off and have fun.

I'm returning from a long day of work to the comforts of my bedroom when one of the servants stops me. "Miss (y/n), the King would like to invite you to have dinner with him tonight."

"Tell him he can expect to see me there," I smile.

I look through the dresses I own, my eyes landing on a simple but pretty (2f/c) one. I thought back to the first dinner I had with him, the first and last time I wore it. He told me I looked 'cute'. I rolled my eyes when I remembered those women laying all over him in next to nothing. How flustered and out of place I had felt, no one said anything about it though. I continue to dig through my dresses, picking up one I haven't worn yet. It's (f/c) with (black/white) lace trim and (2f/c) (f/fl) embroidery along the skirt. Carefully putting it on, I pick out a matching necklace and earrings then fix my hair. 'Lovely.'

Another servant comes to get me, pulling me into a small room. The candlelight is dim, and no one else is in the room as I look around. 'This isn't what I was expecting.' I sit down at a medium sized table which is covered in trays of food.

I can hear footsteps and then the door swinging open as Sinbad enters. Slumping down on the other side of the table, he lets out a frustrated sigh. He leaves on another trip in the morning, I'm sure he's been stressed with work these last few days. It's been a long time since I was alone with him like this, especially since he's been busy all month.
