Juliana
I was standing in the hidden room looking through the big book but everything I was looking at was blurry. I kept flipping through all of the pages and was getting frustrated that I couldn't read anything. I was about to slam the book shut when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Juliana." I looked up to see a woman with the same green eyes as me with raven black hair and a warm smile.
"Mom?" I said with my mouth left wide open. "But how could this be?" I turned to embrace her into a huge.
"Jules, this is only a dream." She told me holding me just as tight. I was frowning and my mother must have noticed when we finally released each other. "But I really am here with you in spirit. I am just happy you finally found our families covenstead." She quickly said trying to distract me from the realization that this was simply a dream.
"How can you visit me in my dreams? I thought dreams were not real." I said walking towards the couch.
"Dreams are a magical place, they allow witches to communicate freely and practice spells without serious repercussions." She said smiling while flipping through the pages of the big book.
"Wait... did you say witches? They don't exist." I asked eyeing my mother. I still wasn't convinced that her being in my dreams were real. I don't know if I can accept that something such as witches could exist.
Then my mother said as if knowing what I was thinking, "Juliana did you know that the Wildes coven is one of the few that only the women are witches, but one of the most powerful." She finished side eyeing me.
I took a deep breath and sat down. I was shocked, lost for words. What is she going to tell me next.. that vampires and werewolves exist too?
"I don't mean to pry in your mind... but there are so many things you do not know. I have many things to teach you." She said sitting next to me.
The only thing I did was look at my hands. I finally able to ask her, "So wait.. I'm a witch? But how have I never known this? Does father and Silas know? Why don't I have powers? Why di-" my mother cut me off.
"Woah Jules! Please calm down. Let's take it one question at a time. Yes, you're a witch. Your father made me swear conceal your powers until you were 18. Silas is unaware witches exist but even if he knew he would be powerless." I could tell she wanted to say more but she stopped herself.
"But how am I suppose to be calm when I just found out I'm a witch!?" I said placing my head between my hands.
"I know this is a lot to take in. I don't expect you to be completely content with this news. I'm just happy you found the courage to leave your fathers house. Please study the book on the lectern. Now that you discovered our covenstead your powers will awaken and grow from here." She placed her hand on my back comforting me. "I do have to go, but I'll be back tomorrow. Please be safe. Knowing your father he will not be happy you disappeared."
I gave her a hug and then she was gone. I had so much I wanted to know. There was just not enough time. I drifted off into a deep sleep seeing nothing but black.
Leonardo
It has been a long meeting with King Eric but he finally accepted out treaty of alliance without me marrying his daughter. We instead had direct access to the trading routes through the kingdom and they would have our protection.
I couldn't help but feel worried for Juliana through all my morning duties. I was finally free to go and see her. I just hoped I didn't make a mistake leaving her there.
I teleported to the market hoping she would be with her friend at the tailoring shop. I walked into the shop and I couldn't smell her, but I did see her friend. She began walking towards me. When she neared she curtsied.
"Good day My Lord. What brings us the pleasure of your visit?" She asked with a smile. It was obvious she was more interested with me than why I was here.
"I am here looking for Juliana. I had hoped she came to the market today." I told her looking towards the door. I knew she wasn't here but I could see her friends face fall when I finished.
"Well shall I tell her that you stopped by?" She said catching my attention. That was not the response I was expecting.
"I don't want to be a trouble. I will stop by her father's shop, but if you don't mind. Please let her know I am looking for her." I said bowing my head then leaving out the front door of the shop. I had this sinking feeling that something was wrong. I just couldn't put my finger on it just yet, but there was one thing for sure. I was not going to her father's shop alone and it wasn't in fear of what her father could do to me. It was me not knowing what I would do to her father if something terrible happened to her. "Hey man why did you ditch our training session?" I turned happy for once to see my friend Peter.
"Speak of the Devil! I was just thinking of visiting you. I need your help and you are coming with me to the blacksmith's shop. I have a bad feeing." I said in a rush; Peter looked confused.
"First of all... you're the prince of all demons.. and your father is literally the devil himself. Second of all... please tell me we can eat first. Third of all... does it have to do with that human girl?" He replied and I knew this was going to be a long day.
"Her name is Juliana and she isn't just some random human girl!" I growled with rage in the voice and I could feel my demon about the break the surface.
"Yeah whatever, do you want my help or no? And what is it we are going to. be doing?" He was getting on my nerves and he knew it. I could tell it was bringing him pleasure by the look on his face.
"We are going to... check in on her, make sure she is okay." I said threw a clenched jaw. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of pissing me off any longer. I teleported to the blacksmith's shop and Peter was there right next to me. I nodded my head in appreciation and headed inside with Peter on my heels.
