Chapter 707 - Chapter 29 Capture

" Marc?"

Steve was baffled by his sudden action because he felt like a different person. An experienced veteran who spent his entire life killing, that was the sensation that he got from him.

Each of his moves was precise and deadly, taking a life in a hit, unlike Steve who was trained in close-quarter combat style. Although Steve could kill someone, even he wasn't as proficient as Jake who killed without flinching.

" You confuse me with someone, Captain America. I believe you need my help to take him down- Alive!"

Jake narrowed his eyes when he met Harrow's confused eyes since he didn't expect there would be another personality in him and he would be this powerful.

" I don't know who you are but as long as you don't hurt innocent people, I will close my eyes."

Jake grinned at Steve's words while walking toward them with a calm face. The blood splattered on his face as he slashed the monsters one by one, creating a road filled with corpses.

The squelching sound of boots on the blood terrified Harrow because he never seen anyone crueler than Jake. Furthermore, their cold detached eyes his were freezing his entire body like he was in the arctic.

" Are you terrified, Harrow? I believe you do. Do you think these dead people felt the same as you?"

The viscous blood of the creatures dripped from his blades as he stood before Harrow with a calm face. Despite their height difference, Jake looked taller than him even though he was shorter. His jet-black mask concealed his face but the smell of blood lingered around him heavily.

No voice could come out from his throat as he helplessly looked for help from his adversaries but none of them helped him even if it was Steve Rogers.

Even his proud power was powerless against brute like Jake who calmly flicked the power like a bug. He then grabbed him like a toy and headbutted him.

Drip*

The blood dripped from his nose as Harrow felt pain. He knew his nose was broken and he couldn't do anything because Jake was overpowering him.

His clenched fists fell into his face, rendering him useless except he crouched like a baby. He tried to grab something to him but Jake stomped his arm.

Crack*

His wrist was broken by the immense strength as he screamed with pain, grimacing on the ground with a pale face. The sweat and blood ticked down his face while he attempted to crawl out from there, but Jake wasn't having it.

" Weak."

He kicked his gut with a powerful kick, sending him to the lamppost while grabbing his hair. He then dipped his head to the pedestrian road while wiping the blood off from his face.

Fortunately, Steve stood in front of him while holding his hand to signal him to stop. His calm eyes didn't leave his face until Jake let go of his hair, nodding at him to confirm his thought.

" Ugh!"

Marc opened his eyes with pain, looking at unconscious Harrow at his feet with confusion while not recalling what happened. Neither Steven nor Marc knew what happened and none of his friends talked about his actions like what happened here.

" Marc, take Harrow to the chamber of the gods. We need to seal Ammit in his body."

Layla grabbed his sleeves, bringing him back to reality while looking at Steve. Steve seemed to understand her words while nodding his head to go ahead because his job wasn't done yet.

Meanwhile near the pyramid.

Arthur dusted his clothes, looking at Ammit with distress. He swore all these gods were tenacious, specifically Ammit who could use her power to regenerate indefinitely which made her practically immortal.

" Arthur, are you alright? I think you have exhausted quite a bit of your power because your material form is disappearing."

Arthur nodded at Khonshu's words while looking at his transparent hands. The time of his materialization was almost infinite if he didn't use his power but an excessive amount like this was arduous to his soul.

" Barely. But she isn't in a good shape either. We injured her heavily and I doubt she would have the power to resist us."

He was right because Ammit felt exhausted. Her inner mind was racing to find a way to get away from them, knowing it was impossible to beat them unless she completely drained her power.
