Chapter 695 - Chapter 18 Taboo power

The stars flickered in the sky, illuminating the soft sands of Egypt. The night of desert wasn't as hot as the day, on the contrary it was cold which would make anyone fall into hypothermia in a matter of minutes.

Except someone like Arthur who was playing with fire in one hand and ice in his other hand while looking at Steven who was trying to calm himself down.

His eyebrows twitched from a slight anger in his heart because Arthur wasn't helping him at all. He knew Arthur was a smart man, but he wasn't bent on helping him like Samone who was helping him through the journey.

" Um, Mr. Frost. Could you help us to calculate this? I can't pinpoint the exact location due to its old age and I am sure you have the capabilities to do that."

Arthur laughed at his question, shaking his head with a calm face while flicking the fire to the sand. He gently leaned on the sand chair, while creating a bonfire before them.

" I could do that, Steven but Khonshu wouldn't want that. Besides, haven't you noticed it yet? We have a tail on our end and I have been trying to keep them away since a while ago."

Steven's face changed when he heard his words because his worst fear came true. No wonder Arthur was looking around like a crazy person despite there being nothing around them. He was surveying the area the whole time and he was fending off annoying pests from their way.

" Anyways, I think you can do this, Steven."

Before he could ask what he meant, Khonshu patted his shoulder with a deep look. He put his staff on the ground while looking at the night sky to ponder.

" Steven, activate your power. I will help you this time because it is your fate and Arthur is already under the surveillance of the gods, meaning he will be found out as soon as he helps you since he is a singularity under the observation of gods."

Khonshu could see Arthur was under pressure here after the Wakandan incident. The God of the panther who protected Wakanda came from the Egyptian pantheon and he had involvement with their leader before. Thus, many Egyptian gods were paying their attention to Arthur in spite of the warning of other gods.

Especially big gods like Seth, Anubis, Horus, and Osiris were keeping eye on their movement even though they didn't involve themselves in their struggle. If he actively involved himself in the mess between, perhaps the outcome wouldn't be pretty.

" Turn the night sky, Steven. Follow my move."

Steven saw Khonshu moving his hand like it was a page of a book, the stars changed and night regressed to the former days. The time between reality blurred under the power of night God while Arthur closed his eyes with pity for it was his destiny.

He knew Khonshu had to meet with other gods because that was the only way to correct and contact other gods that had been hiding from his sight. Unfortunately, he wouldn't know about the result of his plan and certainly, the good outcome possibility would be low.

" What a beautiful sight!"

Samone was mesmerized by the power of the gods while Khonshu knelt on the ground with fatigue. He lightly lifted his head, looking at the sky that had been here eons ago with satisfaction while resigning to his fate.

" Record it down, Steven. We don't have much time."

Khonshu felt other presences of the gods while urging Steven to hurry for their time was limited. It was only a matter of time before gods would be knocking on their doors with their court order.

" I found it. It isn't far away from here."

Arthur nodded at his words, summoning a giant dune to ride on. The desert and eart pushed them to their goal while pursuers silently followed them from behind.

" What an interesting man, he is. He even managed to persuade the greatest hero but unfortunately, he overestimated his power because no mortal is allowed to enter in battle of gods."

Arthur smirked coldly while looking at the woman who was caught in his hand. This woman was his gift to Steven and Marc while he expected Arthur to be on the neutral side.
