Chapter 694 - Chapter 17 Cairo

The bustling night of Cairo was totally new to a person like Steven who didn't leave the UK through his life. The same couldn't apply to Mark but nonetheless, he was mesmerized by how beautiful this place was.

" Beautiful country. Although it is difficult for normal people, I love visiting this country because in this country you will see many kind people."

Arthur paid the aunt money for her skewer, handing one of them to Steven who devoured it in a minute. He felt like he was in his home and he missed someone.

" Thinking about a woman. I can see it in your eyes."

Steven tried to deny it but his expression betrayed his heart as Arthur laughed with a humorous look. He carefully placed a cold Coke in his hand while looking at the night sky.

" We all love others and that makes us special. Because most of the gods don't see mortals like us. They think us some kind of disposable things unless we show potential."

Arthur sat on the cold stairs, thinking about his family and his children. To him, they were his treasure and his everything along with this world. His companion and his people were much more valuable than gods and their missions.

" Do you think I will be free? You said gods aren't trustworthy."

Arthur lightly smiled at his words while looking at the shadow of the God behind him. He slightly narrowed his eyes to show displeasure but he didn't dare to say it out because he understood this was a mission for Steven. His fate was already moving on its course and he couldn't involve himself too much.

" I greet the lord. In my father's name, I am here to assist you."

The beautiful female bowed her head towards them as she peeked at Arthur with interest. She heard among the men, that he possessed extraordinary charm that would attract any woman and the rumor was true.

She couldn't take her eyes off those sky-blue eyes and golden hair that symbolized the sun. Her heart beat like a teenager in love, on the contrary the man next to him was plain and not outstanding. She couldn't figure out why Arthur was following this man and she didn't dare to ask him.

" Steven, this is the daughter of a famous Egyptologist. You must have heard his name, Ahmed Abdol."

Steven's eyes glittered when he heard his name because Ahmed was a respected scientist and archeologist in his field. One could say he was the best in his field and he respected him.

" My name is Salome Abdol. I assume you are an archeologist like my father."

Steven grabbed her hand and shook it with great expectations. He never thought he would meet a big shot like her in this journey and certainly, he never imagined she would guide them.

Arthur looked at Steven with a helpless look, seeing he was in his world of imagination and he wasn't paying attention to him because he was trying to shake him up.

" Steven, we don't have much time. We need you and her to find this place."

Steven was snapped out of his trance as he pinched himself to focus while taking out the scarab from his pocket. The golden scarab immediately took attention of Salome since she knew this item well.

" This is the golden scarab. We have been looking for this for months. How did you get this?"

But before she could ask how he got his hands on this, Arthur signaled her to be silent. Unlike naive Steven, Arthur who had been through many things, could see Salome wasn't a simple woman by her trained and toned muscles. Moreover, she had the distinct behavior of a trained fighter as well as a scientist, telling him that she wasn't here for just goodwill. She had an objective just like them and she was using them like they were using her.

" Anyways, the legend says that this item would lead us to the tomb of someone great. They said in his tomb, we would find the strength of the ancient God and a clue to the room of divines."

Khonshu who was listening to their conversation, fell into silence because he knew the location of the room and certainly that place was a place for gods. However, he also recalled that that place wasn't mortals for it was the prison of gods.
