Chapter 679 - Chapter 2 God Mission

The silence descended upon them as Arthur and Steve silently gazed at her with some thoughts. Sure, she was a god and smart but one thing was certain, she was too nice like too much.

In myth, Artemis was often depicted as a cold person but in life, she seemed to be fine.

" Um, I don't want to say but I thought you might have a cold and haughty personality, according to your myth."

Artemis didn't mind their question because she felt grateful and she would act nice to nice people.

" Usually, I am but I respect powerful and kind beings. You two deserve this kind of attitude. Besides, I am looking for you. Athena said that he could solve our problem."

Arthur's ear pricked when he heard the problem since God's problem was too big of a threat even though they were little to them. Especially when he dealt with the last problem, Asgard was destroyed by Surtr and Hela almost killed Thor who lost one of his eyes.

" Let me guess. You either lost your item or someone invaded your realm."

Artemis's eyes lit up when she heard Arthur's words, marveling at his intelligence. She liked this man who had keen senses of a hunter and she was sure he was a hunter just by his attitude. He wasn't kind of saint or prey, he was an apex predator by his look.

" Yes. In fact, we lost an item thanks to my stupid half-brother who believed in someone. This item was one of our prized items that could fix everything. You remember my cape last time, right? This item was similar to that and had no offense capabilities but it could reforge every item back to its normal shape with enough energy. That is why we have to find it quickly. Otherwise, this would generate so many troubles in the mortal realm."

Steve's brows creased as he looked at Arthur who was contemplating the situation with a bitter face. He couldn't just get enough of his job and the world needed him once again like it always does.

" I freaking hate my job sometimes. I just want to retire already."

Arthur murmured while taking 3 coffees from the machine, and handing them to others. Artemis gently took the coffee and sipped it with enjoyment since she didn't drink that much in Olympus. Her eyes turned crescent with pleasure as she sipped it slowly to enjoy the beverage.

" It is rare to have a mortal food and beverage in God's realm. Honestly, I pay so much to taste this because human foods are quite popular among us."

Arthur looked at her with pity, not knowing what to say because it was just canned coffee. It wasn't even the best coffee in the first place. The poor goddess didn't know this as she dug in with delight.

" So, I heard you have married Hela. I remember her being quite harsh goddess, how did you do that?"

Artemis asked with a smile, not seeing a woman silhouette behind her. Hela, Loki, and Thor were standing behind her with different expressions. The brothers took a step back from Hela who was trying to maintain her calmness and image in front of the people but they could see her veins were popping.

" Long time no see, Artemis. I remember you being quite active. You even dared to badmouth me."

Artemis almost spat out her drink, sweating bullets in the blink of an eye. She quickly reached her hands down to her thigh but Hela caught it before she could do so. Moreover, she even put her short sword behind her back.

" I wouldn't do that if I were you. You still habit of reaching for your dagger. Well, I understand your infamous bow is useless here."

Artemis clicked her tongue when she felt the cold tip of the dagger. Among the Asgardians Hela was probably the closest God to Odin in terms of power, so it was obvious she would lose to her. However, she didn't believe their gap would be this much.

" You are rough and rude like always. I believe only goddess Freyja was the most decent among you."

Hela didn't deny it, poking her back with a teasing face.
