Chapter 394 - Chapter 31 Interrogation

Everyone had a heated conversation throughout the meeting. Moreover, most of them agreed with Arthur's suggestion to destroy the lab. However, they debated whether they should nuke Kremlin with a mini-nuke or not. This was prolonged until the end of the meeting. Thankfully, they reached a tacit result which is to save the useful and innocent people before the attack and leave others there. This was also suggested by Arthur because he didn't want to kill innocents in the attack.

As for Colonel, he immediately sent the results with the telegram. He edited out a few details.

In the isolated room.

Arthur was looking at the squad leader with a smile. He valued this man who gave up resistance for his men. He was a good man in his eyes because he also didn't try to kill civilians even though he had superior firepower.

Arthur cleared his throat and said gently in Russian.

" What is your name?"

The squad leader looked at him with a blank look. He never thought he would be handled this gently. The war prisoners were often abused by the enemy camp in their custody. He couldn't figure out Arthur's intentions as he looked at him with a serious gaze. He said with a rough voice.

" Dimitri. My name is Dimitri. I am from the 16th battalion of the 4th infantry army. I am a sergeant under major Koloski."

Arthur nodded. He noted down the information with a quick reaction. He raised his head and questioned politely.

" Have you killed our people in your manner and why didn't you try to kill the people in the house? You should have enough weapons."

Sergeant Dimitri shook his head. He couldn't bring himself to kill civilians just because they were his enemies. Honestly, he was one of the few who resisted this war. His eyes showed a pang of deep guilt as he spoke in a quiet voice.

" I couldn't kill anyone. They weren't my enemy. They were just protecting their families. Although I admit that I had killed soldiers before, it was due to the order of my superior. You see I had a lot of American friends. They were my comrades in arms in the war."

Arthur guessed that he was referring to recent wars. Cold War wasn't strong in this world due to American control over Soviet. Therefore, there were many cases where Americans and Russians fought together.

He also saw his thought in his eyes. He never lied and he was sincere about his story. His tone and his face were perfectly synced.

" I see. So, you are one of the doves. Honestly, I am impressed by how long you have survived in the Soviet's political world. They hate capitalists like us too much."

Dimitri didn't deny it. He said with a calm tone.

" Because that makes us patriotic. They taught us that way. I can't change what they think."

Arthur nodded in agreement. He changed his tone and asked with a serious tone.

" How much do you know about your army? You don't have to tell secrets. I want to know about general things and who was the culprit behind this war."

Dimitri sighed with relief when he heard that he didn't have to tell secrets about their army. He didn't want to betray his homeland. He sighed and said helplessly.

" Thank you for your understanding. We had planned this war for a long time. Moreover, both the president and prime minister were advertising this war was the right thing. Many of our comrades had agreed with this and supported them."

Arthur knew that president Romanov wasn't that strong because he was under surveillance by their government. He lacked the power and wisdom for this kind of maneuver. He was very inflexible in this situation. Therefore, only one answer was remaining. The mysterious prime minister- Yuri who was hiding in the shadow.

Arthur placed his chin on his hand. He frowned while connecting the evidence to him. He was suspicious of this person. He was like a shadow due to his mysterious ways to handle situations. He even managed to hide under the CIA's espionage.

" Hmm, this man must know something about that esper."
