The cathedral was in the east district, all the mornings of all weekends the cardinal and other priests give a speech that lasts around an hour and a half.
I´ve never been there since I´m not interested in religion, but I got aware of that by speaking with some priests and knights.
The deity that they worship is a goddess called Aurora. According to the church, is thanks to her that the humans are capable to summon heroes from another world, she´s also responsible for bringing mana, spells, and anything that has to be with magic to the world.
There were more gods with their respective religions around the world and the kingdoms, though I was not interested in being part of any of them, so I´ll limit myself to just learn their spells and the kind of magic they use.
My fight with Molly made me realize that I can´t be a conformist, not only do I have to find the weaknesses of the demons and cultists, but of everyone with whom I interact.
It wasn´t a measure to make a total war and end with everyone, it was something necessary to keep my activities and have the biggest probability of success possible.
I wouldn't like to fight against these people, but I will without restraining if necessary.
My mind was ready for everything, my heart not much.
-Wise words master, But was that good?
The voice of the beast reminded me that I didn´t cut the connection.
While the others were discussing how the plan will be executed, I focused on my mental conversation at the same time my lips met the teacup and my eyes looked into some maps of the capital.
-It was, I saved the bother of looking for replacements for the nobles and if everything goes well, the cult won´t have anyone with authority to support them. Maybe the most clever will send a scapegoat to stay on good terms with the kingdom.
-And you think that will stop them?
-Not at all, this kind of problem needs to be resolved by cutting the root, all those who have had something to be with the cult must be exterminated and replaced if they want peace to last for another while.
-Don´t you think that appeal to such a violent method could cause more disasters?
-If there´s no one to inflict damage the damage won´t occur, besides, the fear will be a persuasive assurance to all those who dare to even think of walk through the bad steps of their predecessors.
-What will happen with the trust you have built?
-Roberto will keep building a castle of trust with the people around him, Kitzin will be the other face of the coin where the hatred can be placed.
-Don´t you fear them finding you out?
-I just need to find a way to replicate the invocation magic of the royal family before that happens. Once I don´t have anything more to do here I´ll go to other kingdoms for the summoning objects.
-Seems like you already had everything planned, master.
-Who knows, maybe I´m very good at improvising... Going to another subject, How are the elves doing?
-They were hosted inside the castle, Iris and her sister are going to where you are.
-You don´t say...
My legs were running out of strength for how much I had moved today, however, I resisted the urgency of my body for rest and went to the door of the meeting room with the excuse of going to the bathroom.
-Don´t be late, the reunion will continue soon.
-Sure.
Being out of the room, I kept talking with Fei Xue.
-Guide me to them.
-Walk straight and to the left, then down one floor, go to the right and 2 halls later to the left.
-Ugh... Fucking labyrinth...
-Blame who built the castle.
I walked exactly as Fei Xue said and in no time I was able to hear the voice of Iris and her sister from afar.
Cutting the connection with the bird I decided to step back a little and wait behind a wall for the sisters.
-Excuse me, Do you have some makeup?
-Uhm, sure... Do you want some?...
-It´ll be for just a moment, Please?
-A-All right.
I stopped a maid that was walking around and with the makeup lent to me I hid the scar on my face.
-You´re quite skillful with that, Do you do it frequently?
-Only when guests arrive, I don´t want to give a bad impression to the castle, so an appearance more kind comes better.
-Really? I think is the first time I see you doing that.
-Special occasions need special measures.
-Haha, I suppose so.
I finished the job and gave back the beauty items.
-Thanks, I owe you one.
-Consider yourself free of debts if you can get me a picture of Molly using makeup.
-I think that´s harder than finding Mithril...
-I´m sure you can do it, it´s you who we are talking about.
-... I´ll do what I can.
-Fufu, looking forward to it.
The maid kept going her way, a brief smile embodied on her face.
How was she called? Sora? Flora? Cora?... It was something similar... Meh.
I forgot about her almost immediately and focused my ear on the voices getting closer.
-I´m telling you! He´s here somewhere!
-Then it works for Lafonía? Is it a special force?
-He told me he was part of an army, but he never mentioned names, and I don´t think a kingdom that wants to keep a good image would use a guy that brutal.
-You´re right... We cannot make him our enemy under any circumstances... Do you think he´s a mercenary?
-Ah! I told him the same thing! His clothes make him look like one pretty scary! Right?
-...You told him that?... On his face?...
-Ah, well, yhea.
-...
Pam*
-Ow!
-Why you always take the most dangerous decisions?!
-But he saved us! Besides, he didn´t take it the wrong way!
-Ugh, we´ll discuss this later with father, for now, stay close and don´t do anything stupid.
-You say it as if I always do stupidities...
-I don´t have another way to call it.
-Hey!... Ah!
The sound of the steps of Iris paused.
-What´s wrong?
-I found him...
-Found him?
The walk became a trot, and in a matter of nothing, the elf arrived at where I was.
-I knew it! It´s you!
Since Iris had already seen my face, there was no necessity to play the fool.
-As noisy as always.
-Huh? Aren´t you supposed to have a scar?
-Not at all.
-Ehhh? Ah...
I placed my hand on her confused head and stroke it softly.
-You did good back there, hound.
The elf stayed paralyzed, her eyes little by little became crystalline.
-Hic* Thank you... Thank you for saving them... Hip*... Thank you for saving my sister...
-... Heh...
Between tears, she gave me words of gratitude, by never had the intention of truly help her, I was incapable to respond, I just gave her an ironic smile while her sister approached us.
-Who are you?! What are you doing to my sister?!
The elf girl took Iris and put her behind her.
I immediately made a respectful bow and introduced myself.
-Greetings, my lady, I´m a servant of the castle, my name is Antonio, I´m an acquaintance of Iris, I came to take you to the meeting room.
-That doesn´t explain why she is crying! What did you do to her?!
Before things could get even more out of control, Iris walked out of her sister's back and stood beside me.
-It´s okay sis! This is the person who helped us.
-... What?...
The eyes of the woman extended as plates after seeing how I created a tiny cube of ice with magic, the color of her skin disappeared as she bowed with a knee on the floor.
-Please forgive me! I didn´t know you were that person!
No names huh... She´s smart...
-No problem, is good to see you so full of energy.
The hand I offered her to stand up was taken.
-For certain motives, I need you to keep my identity as a secret, You think you can do that?
-You can trust in me!
-Me too!
In an almost instinctive manner, the sister of Iris and I looked at her with eyes saying "Are you sure about that?".
The face of the girl blushed and frowned.
-I just have to stay quiet! Right? Even I can do that!
I didn´t trust her words one bit.
-I´m counting on you.
-Leave it to me.
Somehow, the sister seemed to me like the living incarnation of trust.
It was comforting.
