(A/N: I just wanted to say that I tried my best to write this as emotional as I can, but if that was not what you felt then I am sorry hahaha. Anyway, whatever your reaction may be, Thank you for reading my novel and see you next week!)
Avery finally arrived at the entrance of the throne room just to have all his hope shatter.
There he saw in the middle of what remained of the throne rooms was Yue's battered body laying down as she gazed at the sky through the large hole gaping through the ceiling.
"B-big brother?"
Hearing her, sparked some new hopes inside of him.
Hoping that perhaps it was not late yet.
He ran and quickly checked Yue's condition.
"Hehe… I-I am a-alright." Yue weakly said.
"Y-Yue." Avery's voice trembled in despair seeing the severe wound in her chest.
Black veins were spreading from the wounds.
The only thing keeping her alive was the residue of mana contained inside her.
Avery quickly transferred mana to her then cast some spells to heal her, but it did not work.
Seeing what Avery was doing, "It's ok b-big brother…", Yue tried to stop him.
She knew that it was her end as soon as she saw what had stabbed her.
It was one of the few [Orange Grade] items found in their Ascended World.
A dagger capable of inflicting a high [Teir 4] curse, that can only be cured by someone from [Teir 5] and above. She knew that it was almost impossible to find that at the current stage.
Despite her words, Avery continued and ignored her words. He tried [Light Magic], but it was no use.
So he then tried [Nature Magic]. Then [Soul Magic]. But none of them worked.
He continued and tried and tried however a hand held his which forced him to stop.
"I-It's no use b-big brother…." Yue quietly said with a light smile on her face.
"No!! I am not about to lose you!!" Avery angrily said as his eyes started to get wet.
He continued healing her with all magic he knew that was capable of healing.
He then used [Purple Grade] items and such, but it still won't work as the curse continued on spreading, destroying Yue's cell and organs piece by piece.
"Just work damn it!!"
With his eyes red and tears slowly accumulated in his eyes, Avery continued and desperately used all methods he knew.
After a few moments, his mana and all items in his possession were depleted.
There and then, he realized that he can't save her. He was powerless to do anything. His sister was going to die.
"S-see.. didn't I t-tell you it wouldn't work."
"B-but…" Avery tried to argue in pain, but he knew that it was impossible.
He knew what weapon had stabbed her. He knew that only a [Teir 5] can help him, but it was impossible to find one since there are none at the current stage.
There were also no items, at the current stage, that he knew of was capable of healing his sister. Even if there was, it was not in his possession.
"It's fine haha…" Yue weakly laughed.
"Y-Yue." Tears that had accumulated in his eyes started to drop one by one.
Avery slowly hugged her body while looking into her eyes.
"B-big brother….. D-do you r-remember the days when you used to r-read me books?"
Avery nodded as he brought one of his hands to her cheeks and he softly caresses them.
"Those days were the best, j-just us laying on the bed as you read me my favorite books."
Tears continued dropping from his eyes as he continued to listen to her.
"W-we would often joke about how similar they are to our lives and even play around their names to match ours" She giggled as she remembered those days.
Avery lightly laughed as well, as he continued to cry.
"Then there was the time when you saved me from my birthday party."
"You were like a prince at that time rescuing his princess." She smiled with a light blush.
"Then there was our instructor who would always scold you for helping me but you would still help me in the end."
Yue continued to recount and tell her happiest moments with her big brother as Avery agreed and laughed once in a while with tears flowing out of his eyes.
The curse continued to spread until Yue lost her sense of eyesight and hearing.
"B-big brother? Are you still t-there?" Yue said as she held her hand up to find Avery.
Avery caught her hand and held it against his cheeks.
"Don't worry I am still here…" Avery said even though Yue couldn't hear anymore.
Feeling the warmth of his hand Yue smiled.
Her mana slowly diminished as the air in her lungs rapidly depleted, she then opened her mouth wanting to say what she had always wanted to say to her brother as a girl who was in love.
"Big b-brother, I lov-"
Alas her mana was fully depleted and the lack of air hindered her from completing her sentence.
Her breathing stopped and her body fell to a complete still as the hand holding her big brother's face slowly fell to the ground.
Even though her words were not completed Avery knew what she really wanted to say.
"I love you too, little sis." Avery quietly said as tears gushed out of his eyes.
He sobbed as he tightly hugged her lifeless body.
The spectating Yue felt every emotion that Avery felt all throughout their interaction.
It hurt.
It was excruciating… it was unbearable.
She didn't know that it would hurt this much.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as her vision blurred.
She slowly walked towards her big brother who was sobbing over his sister's lifeless body.
The spectating Yue tried to hug him, but rules forbid her, as her body simply phased through.
So she stood there quietly as she cried while watching her big brother sob in pain.
After a few minutes, Avery spoke in a guttered voice.
"Why…"
*sob*
"Why…" He cried as he questioned why the world took his sister away from him.
Then a silhouette of a person appeared in his mind.
"Tristan… huh?"
A look of realization appeared on Avery's face as he let out a breath and began chuckling.
"Hahaha…"
"B-big brother.." the spectating Yue said as she continued watching her big brother chuckle like a mental patient.
"Hahaha!!"
"Trsitan!!!" Avery furiously said as he screamed the name of the perpetrator of all this with deep hatred in his voice.
A thick veil of heavy atmosphere descended upon the throne room as the scenery in front of Yue froze.
Avery was frozen still as his expression was that of pure hatred that wished nothing but to bring pain and suffering to the person who perpetuated all of this.
Then the scenery started to slowly disappear. She felt as if she was waking up. It was the same feeling after the soulbond was done showing memories.
And so Yue slowly opened her eyes.
