Chapter 49 - Back To Reality
On top of the bed, Avery woke up and slowly sat up on the bed.
"That was shocking…. Who would have thought that my parents were in an incestual relationship."
*Sigh*
He then turned around and looked at his sister who was sleeping peacefully.
Avery stared at her face for a few seconds.
"Cute," Avery said as the tip of his mouth lifted up into a smile as he looked at her.
"I wonder what the soulbond showed you, my dear little sister."
Then he noticed a tear forming at the tip of her eyes.
A frown scrunched upon his face seeing this.
He moved a bit closer to her and brought his hand on the side of her face and slowly wiped the tear.
"Little Yue…" He then weakly called her in an attempt to wake her up.
Yue who was in the middle of being transferred back to reality felt something warm on her cheek.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw her big brother worriedly looking at her.
"Big brother?" Yue asked confusedly.
"Is there something wrong?"
Seeing that she was back to reality and that her big brother was here and fine, Yue suddenly launched herself into Avery.
Avery caught her in his arm as Yue tightly hugged him.
"Big brother!" Yue called him as she cried in his chest.
Feeling something wet on his chest, Avery hugged her more and softly caressed her back.
Avery leaned his head on the side of her ears as he quietly whispered, "No need to worry…. I am here."
*crying sounds* Yue cried hearing him.
"It's alright…" Avery continued to comfort her for a few more minutes before she finally calmed down.
"It's alright now… ok? Whatever you may have seen, we will resolve it together alright?"
"Hmn." Yue hummed in agreement.
"Come on now, let's go have breakfast. You must be very hungry right now."
Avery suggested as he slowly brought his body up.
He did not ask her what she saw, as he knew that it must be something hard.
He will wait for a while before bringing the topic up again.
"Ok." Yue said as she got up and followed her big brother to the kitchen.
And so the two had their breakfast for an hour.
They were quiet as they had their food.
No words were formed as they ate, and only the sounds of utensils moving were heard.
Avery waited for her to bring the topic up herself.
While Yue calmed herself down and prepared what words to say.
After finishing their breakfast.
Yue brought up what she saw and told Avery.
When she mentioned Tristan, a very dangerous glint appeared in his eyes.
He did not interrupt her and allowed her to continue.
She mentioned the battle in the palace and how she had died in his arms.
She teared up when she explained how much pain Avery was in as he watched saw his sister die in his arm.
The pain she felt through her connection when Avery lost someone who meant the world to him disappeared.
The hatred he had on whoever had instigated all of this.
Avery breathed and exhaled a large amount of air, in an attempt to calm himself down.
He stood up and walked towards his sister who was sitting on the opposite side of the table.
He embraced Yue from behind and said, "It's okay. I won't let you die ever.. EVER again."
"No…. it's just.. I don't wanna see like that again big brother."
"It hurts, seeing my loving big brother in such pain," Yue added.
"Hehe…. It's fine now right? I have my cute little sister in my arms. Why would I ever show that expression you saw again." Avery joked and complimented her in order to shift the atmosphere.
Hearing his words, Yue blushed. She turned around and dived deeper into his embrace. Attempting to hide her blush from him.
"Big brother…" Yue muttered lovingly as she savored his warm embrace.
Avery smiled hearing her.
----------
Avery and Yue were now back in the Ascended World after they finished all the things they needed to do on earth.
They checked the news, forum, stocks, and kept an eye on the families that killed their parents.
Yue also prepared what her big brother instructed her.
They were going to sabotage the other players by giving and misleading some information in the forum.
They were not going to launch it yet, Yue mainly prepared and set the things necessary.
Back in the Ascended World, everything was the same as usual.
Avery and Yue arrived in the morning only to see their villagers having their breakfast.
The two siblings waited for them and spent time together roaming around the village.
They also practiced magic for a bit.
Then after the villagers had their breakfast, Avery and Yue went to the school to conduct their morning lessons.
The first villagers that were summoned were slowly mastering their magic, some were already capable of using some spells like [Weight Magic] and [Cut].
It would make their work later on much easier with these spells on hand.
The recently summoned villagers on the other hand formed their mana circles and were strengthening their foundation.
After the lessons, Avery and Yue then again called upon the people that were selected for their military.
However this time, only Avery trained them while Yue went to Haldir and Elrand to instruct them of the city layout, that she and her big brother talked about before they went into the Ascended World.
Avery had the 27 trainees take up some warm-up exercises before ordering them to take up some close-ordered drills.
Close-order drill comprises the formal movements and formations used in marching, parades, and ceremonies.
Though, exact parade ground maneuvers on the battlefield are not that practical due to the range and accuracy of spells from high leveled mages.
If soldiers were bunched up together they would just end up all dead with just one single powerful spell right in the middle of their formation.
However, the close-order drill still had its values not only for ceremonies and moving large bodies of soldiers on foot but also because it provided a psychological foundation of teamwork and discipline.
Avery had them form in attention, right and left face, forward march and half, double time, mark time, half step, and the elven salute [A/N: Anyone have some suggestion on what I should use as their salute?]
Though, the elven trainees did not really do well. They were unfamiliar with such concepts and were moving in a disorderly manner.
Seeing the messy and unorganized soldiers in front of him, Avery sighed.
'I guess this is what I would expect for teaching them all this stuff right on the bat.'
'Anyway, as long as they familiarized themselves with the orders it will be a good goal for today.'
"Attention!!"
The elven trainees quickly scrambled for their original positions.
"Hmm… still a bit unorganized…" Avery said.
