"My lord," a figure approached behind, bowing his head.
I sat on the couch crossing my legs. "Your report, Dalas,".
Dalas' eyes slowly opened, his helix earring glinted in the dark. He is the best assassin in the Odinel mercenaries, and that earring is his infamous identity. He has yet to be loyal to any master before he met me.
We both have the wind element, but with Carina's training, I easily won against him.
"My lord, just as you predicted, the crown prince is not doing anything while the second prince is trying to gain favours from the noble to side with him,"
I smiled slightly. Of course the crown prince wouldn't do anything while the second prince is shamelessly trying to get more people to side with him.
The royal trial is an embarrassing thing to ever happen to royals because in a royal trial, justice prevails and your tittle means nothing, almost akin to a slave. It's a fact that royals get away with anything because the laws favour them, but in a royal trial none of that matters as it is a trial that relies on oath between royals and the gods.
The crown prince is a person with pride and he knows that he isn't involved with the assassination. So he does nothing because he knows nothing will happen to him during the royal trial as long as he convinces others that he is innocent. Second prince is the opposite. His neurotic personality made him act quickly and while he might be innocent, he is trying to curry favour in case the royal trial didn't go as planned.
"They really did shot themselves in the foot this time," I laughed menacingly.
Once I become emperor, I have the highest power. And just like Carina said, with power, anything can be obtained.
Dalas observed his new master with a complicated expression. His wit and intelligence as well as his mischievous demeanour reminded him of his first master.
'And to think that my first master is related to this child,' Dalas thought to himself.
"Oh yes, make sure to cover up your ears properly. I don't want people to know that you're under my command," I stood up, looking outside the window.
The small light blue orb appears on the palm of my hand as I gathered my mana. This orb is Kydre, an insignia that lets me control the whole Odinel mercenaries. As I pieced my memories and my mana coming together after I threw away the mana sealing pills, an innate ability surged through my entire being.
And apparently, I've been possessing Kydre this entire time. Kydre is a mysterious insignia, as it is born from within one's mana. It means that Kydre is possessed immediately when the chosen person was born. However, Kydre itself has a mysterious background. It is said that the founder of Odinel, Langerfield himself, did not disclose any fact about the insignia. However, it is clearly a high level magic, to be able to hide in one's mana and for it to be inherited through it.
It definitely had something to do with Frigore again. But it doesn't matter. I am using all the cards I have in my hand.
Dalas' face reflected on the window I am facing. He put down his hood, revealing his pointy ears, his dark skin and the light green eyes.
"Certainly. I will hide myself until the time is right," he said.
Even Dalas knew that whoever has a dark elf under his command, the empire would be in chaos as it is a powerful race that is said to be extinct a thousand years ago.
"Tomorrow's the show. Crown prince or second prince, either way I don't mind if it's only one of them going down," I said, gripping the Kydre tightly.
