Chapter 38 - 38 - Litu and the Complex Brown Ape

The Forest. Curt.

"What do I do to you now?"

Litu asked. He was already going to give up on trying to impress the Mangani. He had tried all his best in wanting to have a deal with it. The Mangani had simply been indifferent. None of the actions of the guy moved it.

Also, Litu had no idea what was going on back at home. He thought he did have an idea but hell wrong he was.

He had no idea what that situation had made of her wife.

He felt the wave of fate mimicking as well as sweeping away his grit.

The Mangani was sitting close to the mouth of the cave and he was standing before it.

Sincerely, he hadn't been able to learn anything significant from the ape. It wouldn't eat at precise times.

At a point, he would think that he knew how the ape would react to a situation, then boom! The ape does something close to a stray which would leave him more than confused.

The ape had been fiddling with some twigs. Biting and stripping the twigs off their barks.

To Litu, the ape wasn't taking him seriously. But that wasn't really true.

Every time they went on a walk and were being accosted by some wild cats, it would be the one to take the group, smash the enemies.

Those points, Litu would feel indebted and would be at awe of the ape.

But such time as that which they were caught in at that moment, he didn't give a damn anymore as well as the ape.

He knew he wouldn't continue like that with the ape. If the ape would not tell him what he wanted to know in two days time, he would leave.

And he would never ever want to have anything to do with it ever again.

"Even if you can't talk, give me a sign. Do some sign languages or even gibbering. I might have an idea."

The ape snorted and stood up from where it was. The ape was huge. Huger than King Kong.

But twasn't black. Twas brown with some stripes of ashes across its head down to the rise of its nose.

Litu could had asked the ape about the stripes too but what would you expect from the one who couldn't answer a simple question.

He let the feeling slide and watched the ape roll past him. Damn! Twas huge.

He turned and watched the ape go to the base of the tree he had stood under the previous week.

The naked twigs were in its left hand. The ape climbed the tree and sat between two branches. The branches were huge and could hold him. Yet, you could tell that the poor branches were remonstrating.

Litu looked up at the ape. He was displeased.

"You know that's quite rude. That could never be an answer to my question. Climbing a tree? You must be kidding."

He said. He was burning with rage but there was nothing he could possibly do. The ape could pick him with two of its fingers.

Then at once, the ape began to drop the naked twigs on several parts of the earth.

Twas throwing down the twigs on several directions on the earth.

It stopped when it had only one left. It looked at him and tossed its head to and fro and danced its second hand around.

It seemed like he got it. It had told him to pick up all the twigs and throw them back at him.

He walked towards the twigs thinking if the ape had communicated that way with him before then wouldn't things had been easier for the both of them?
