" ...Connected system interface?" The invisible soul, appearing to be a young male, says slowly.
Seeming utterly confused, he looks around. Taking in his surroundings, he looks down to his body. Seeing the lack of mass and color, he brings up his hands to his face. Clenching and unclenching his fists, seeing his soul slowly become solid.
No... please no...
"So I died..."
Fuck! He's a newbie! Total newbie! If I didn't love my hair I'd totally be ripping it apart right now. Hmm, hair? Oh, wait, I'm in my human form. Great, now I can't transform into a human and goof off without my host noticing; like I did with previous hosts, since they never knew I had a human form.
Ahh I just want to go to sleep. Can I just ignore him for a few hours?...
" And why are you naked?" He says when he finally looks at me. His face remains blank, but his ears turn a light shade of pink.
"Oh." Because it's MY home, you intruder, I grumble inwards. "My bad."
With a snap of my fingers, a white dress shirt, black dress pants, and black leather dress shoes appear on me.
I clap my hands to get his attention. " Let's sit down, shall we? An explanation seems to be in order." I wave a hand to show him to sit in the couch behind him. I sit in the chair I was using before all this.
" Now, could you tell me the last thing you remember?" I cross my legs, place my hands on my lap as I lean back to observe my new host. I mentally look up his information as he starts to talk.
" I died, in a... car accident." So none of the introductory systems got to him. The host manager definitely interfered.
A screen visible only to me pops up, with the information I wanted. My new host, Kim Min Joon, a Korean from a level D Earth.
Name: Kim Min Joon
HP: 750
Strength: 25
Vitality: 50
Agility: 30
Intelligence: 178
Sense : 89
Charm: 83
His stats are pretty decent, his intel is higher than average. An average human male without any powers would have around 50 for each stat.
" I see. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. You were chosen, after your death, to become a host."
" A host?"
" Your job as a host is to travel to worlds and complete missions."
" Why was I chosen?" He looks at me curiously.
" Your soul was deemed strong enough to survive the travel distance. You also seem intelligent enough to survive and hopefully thrive as a host." I give my best customer service smile.
He nods, as if accepting the reason I gave. So I continue, "After said mission you may do one of three things; one, stay in that world until your new body dies. Two, go to your housing dimension to rest for a while. Three, move straight on to the third mission."
" What type of missions are there?" He leans back to relax on the couch.
His posture lazy, emitting a relaxed yet slightly tense aura. As he laid his head back, his bangs fell to the side giving enough space for his eyes to peak through the dark curtains. His cat like amber eyes squint as they followed my every move.
" There's dozens of different types. Following the world fate, counter- attacking, face-slapping, world saving, guarding, save a canon-fodder, world changing, seduction based, survival based, wish fulfillment, and many more. Before each mission, you will receive all the necessary information you need on your system connected interface."
Min Joon just nods slowly a few times, processing all the information I just threw at him. " From the question you first asked when you saw me, does it have to do with this blue square I see in corner of my right eyes vision?"
" Yes, it does. Focus on that square until it pops up a screen in front of you."
He squints for a good couple of seconds, then blinks in surprise when the screen pops up in front of him.
" My stats seem focused on intelligence and sense. Not much hope in my strength, huh." His lips slightly pout. How cute... I wonder how he looks when crying? Ah, oops, dirty thoughts out!
" Ehem," I clear my throat. " Your stats are decent, preferable actually. I'd rather have a clever host than a brainless muscle head."
" True." He nods slightly, while combing through his interface. So he's clever, quiet, confident, and cute. Nice. He's decent so far. He hasn't fainted, cried, had a panic attack, or threw a fit.
" Your interface has four parts. Your information in one page, it contains your stats, some other stuff about you, and your level as a host. The higher your level the more privileges you get. The second part is focused on your missions. Your current mission, and records of your past missions, completed or failed. The third part is the shop. With points earned by completing a mission you can buy whatever you want on there. The last part is communication focused. There are discussion logs for you to talk with other hosts. You can also contact me through the interface by messaging me or you can mentally talk to me. Either way, I'll always get your message."
' Like this?' Oh, he figured it out faster than my ex-hosts.
' Yes, just like that. Good job.' I respond back in his mind. I think I may grow fond of this host. We'll see.
