I stared at Wu Koe and couldn't help but feel a sense of hopelessness sweep over me. I wasn't mad or afraid, but I was sad that I couldn't have a nice slow fiery relationship with him as my parents had often told me about their love. I craved a slow paced love but I also wanted to be this man's wife and I hadn't even known him for long.
"I promise eventually I will marry you but we must marry soon," I offered a compromise to myself. We can have a slow burn relationship that last our whole lives instead of lasting our youth.
I truly had forgotten about my duty as a Princess and my father's potential heir in that moment but since I had set the goal my mind was made.
In my thoughts I was thinking of how I could be a good partner to this fine man and I found myself in my narcissistic thoughts of how I was very powerful, very beautiful, and even though I had a weakness I could still protect me and Wu Koe.

The viallge shaman blessed us and gave us a cloth that he expected us to return to confirm we physically became husband and wife. We drank our nuptial wine and then sat on our wedding bed. We sat facing each other and Wu koe reached out and hugged me to his chest.
"Having you as my wife is my greatest fortune," he said cradling me into his chest. He pulled me in for a kiss and then he released me. Brushing a strand if my hair away from my face he continued talking. "I could die happy now but I still want to live a long life at your side, and we can wait until you are ready..." he paused his cheeks turning a bright red, "to do anything else," he finished with a blush.

"I've waited just about two decades for you," I said as I peered into his eyes. As soon I finished speaking his lips were on mine and our hands removed the layers between us gently and as the less layers remained he threw me on the bed sliding his hot body over mine r ees stung his face in between my breast as he played with the last layer. What a big truth I had omitted. I know eventually he would find out so I should be the one to tell him. I will give him the truth straight from my lips. I won't let someone else utter my truth for me I decided.
Wu Koe had prepared a surprise for me and I waited in anticipation as he had blind folded me before he left. He prepared a meal and we went a part way up to a waterfall on the side of Hai Jing mountain.
"Who named you after who?" Wu Koe mused and I could swear he had asked the mountain. I leaned on him sitting at his side admiring the waterfall with my hand in his.
"The mountain gave me my name. It was here before me and shall be here many millennia after I have returned to dust," I mused back. An almost uneven smile spread across his face.
"I feel sad to hear you speak of you dying. I wish you an eternal life with me by your side," Wu Koe said wistfully and I caught a note of him having not said his whole piece aloud.
To escape the third wheel we escaped the company of the driver and hiked to the second level of the water fall. We dipped our feet into the cool water and Wu Koe held me dangerously close to him as the night before was refreshed in my mind and my body remembered his touch.

After a couple days it was time we headed to Sheng and the village was sad to see us go as we had brought them a happy story. The village had water transportation to Sheng and so we decided to use the river to reach Sheng. As we left we watched the village fade but it wouldn't fade from our memories.
We arrived in Sheng after less than a week. The Wu mansion was prepared to receive us and Wu Ruan came to see his new daughter in law. When the old man saw the beautiful wife of his "son" his heart clenched thinking of how bad it would hurt when Wu Koe would disappear back to his life as Crown Prince Tuoba He Zhen of Chu.
As I got down from the carriage I noticed a strange expression flood the face of my new father but before I could catch a second glimpse the face dissapeared and then Wu Koe and Wu Ruan were gathered in a hug and they pulled me in.
"Wu Koe you are no longer my favorite child. My daughter Hai Ming is now my favorite!" Wu Ruan joked. I wondered to myself why Wu Ruan wasn't suspicious of who I was and why I had married his son, after all they had a family business to protect, didn't they?
"Dad you know you can't do that, I came first! Besides if I tell Mum you're picking favorites while she's pregnant, she'll never let ya hear the end of it!" Wu Koe said cheerily as he ushered me inside. "We must go greet mother in a timely manner," Wu Koe told me as we walked through the large manor estate of the Wu family.
"Your Mum will be proud to have a beautiful and filial daughter now, she knows her son can only be so filial," Wu Ruan teased his son. Wu Koe hugged me to him as we walked as he laughed with his father.
"If anything I have brought my mom and dad a good daughter as a gift as well as myself a wife," Wu Koe complemented. "If anything ever happens to me promise me you'll take care of our family," Wu Koe whispered into my my ear. I looked up into his bright eyes and shook my head in promise.
"Dad already said I was the favorite, how can I just leave if I'm the favorite?" I said aloud causing smiles on the faces of the people around me.
We walked to a place called Peaceful Pavillion and greeted my new mother, Lin Rui. In the company of the first wife was only one other woman, a second wife but no third or a whole harem full. The second wife was named He Li Yan. Both women were pregnant but the second wife seemed to be in the end of hers as she looked as though she was ready to burst.
We bowed our respects and my new mothers came in for a hug. The air in the room was joyful and excited but when we began to sit down to have tea the second mother's water broke and she went into labor. She was pulled to her quarters and sent many physicians.
I was summoned to help as the daughter and I ended up acting as the midwife's assistant. After preparing and inspecting garments for the new born I was passed the newborn child and task with dressing and cleaning.
When I finished I held the woman's tiny son out to her as she was stabilized and cleaned up after her hard labor. She squeezed my hand as she smiled lovingly at her child and then at me. "Welcome to the family dear," He Li Yan said.
I smiled at her and then departed to my awaiting husband. He looked so happy to see me again as though I had been gone for months instead of hours. "I really missed you," Wu Koe said as he pulled me in for a hug.
I had just barely helped out but I felt in desperate need of a bath. "I miss you too, but I really need a bath," I said in invitation for him to show me the way. Wu Ruan showed up at that moment and gave a laugh as he had servants take us to our home and prepared us a bath.
I was under the assumption that the bath was for me alone but everything was prepared for two people except for the single tub. I was left under the assumption that when I finished Wu Koe would bathe.
I sat in the water after I had been thoroughly cleansed and was surprised when Wu Koe came in with an almost disheveled look. He saw me and his eyes glinted. In a moment of breathless silence he came into the water and pulled me into his lap.
"I just got clean and you stuck your dirty self in my clean water," I mock pouted at Wu Koe. He smiled handsomely and turned us over in the tub with him now sitting over me.
"We can be dirty together and get clean together," he said as he pulled me into himself. We dissolved into each other intimately.
When the bath grew cold we added the last of the hot water and came out cleansed. We helped dress each other and Wu Koe brushed my long straight hair and helped me dress for bed. He used a colorful ribbon to tie my hair for sleep and then had me help him dress.
He didn't ask me to comb his hair and attempted to leave before I could pick up the comb. I slid him down and he pulled me into his lap in a dangerously sexy move. I blushed slightly but I kissed his forehead and leapt from his lap and combed his soft long black hair.
When I finished he swept me into his arms and finished what we had started in the bath. In the morning a servant announced breakfast awaiting us. We sat to eat in the main hall with all the members of the Wu Manor.
And then the days began to have a st ew day routine of having at least one meal together as a large family, baths in the evenings, parties in the afternoon to night time. It was a happy thing that swallowed two months before I had realized it.
One morning during morning greetings I was in the main hall awaiting news of Lin Rui who had given birth during the night. I had arrived to help at the end when I heard a second baby had been born. This morning I wanted to know if all three were alright as I was tired and had gotten sick last night.
Lin Rui sent news to the hall after I had paced for an hour leaving Wu Koe dizzy as his eyes followed me back and forth. Wu Ruan was excited as he had learned that Lin Rui had a son and a daughter.
"Blessed with twins," Wu Koe said in congratulations. After hearing the news he pulled me down to sit next to him. I was excited and happy for the Wu family had grown a lot.
"I am blessed with good children and the safe birth of three of my children," Wu Ruan cheered. It was decided that a three month banquet would also host a celebration of the one month olds.
The household was in cheer and all was well, it felt quite, calm, and peaceful. I thought about how it was almost too quite and that I should be wary but I ignored my ominous feeling. The quite before the storm would have less sickness and less blood I told myself.
Wu Koe began to look trouble after receiving a hawk with a message. The hawk was a bird that preyed on pigeons so I guess it had made sense to me that a man as smart as my husband would use.
Wu Koe realized I had been watching him and he produced a jade whistle and a set of leather gloves. He place the gloves on my hands and produced a used one for himself. He pulled out a small bamboo whistle and another jade whistle. He put the two whistles together and the hawk that was just there took to the sky and seemed to dance.
I put my mouth to the whistle he gave me and blew out a short sound. Wu Koe watched me with a smile as I looked disappointed. I was about to try again when a white hawk appeared and seeked to perch on my arms. Mu Mu was fascinated at the new companion I had obtained and the two dissolved into sounds of chufs and coos.
I looked closer at the beautiful hawk that rested on my hand. The hawk was white with light creamy brown speckles I could tell from the fluff that this hawk was still a youngin.
Wu Koe approached me and his hawk began to preen mine. "This is a pair of hawks, they were caught in a fire and lost their familys but they stayed together until I found them," The hawk in Wu Koe's hand seemed to asses no changes to his mate and then it began to eye Mu Mu.
"Mu Mu is going to be their third wheel then?" I asked Wu Koe as I observed Mu Mu seeking both birds attention. We exchanged looks as the hawks both seemed to be find of Mu Mu and they began to preen Mu Mu's untucked wings.
Happy with my new gift I left Mu Mu with the hawks to go and explore the vast world they had access to. I watched as I wished them happy freedom as they soared higher and higher into the sky.
