Chapter 52 - BLUE AND GOLD

Within the sealed world two figures rushed at each other in flashes of gold and blue, one clad in brilliant light and the other a diety of lighting, the force of their collisions spread shockwaves across the large expanse of land, other than the plain fields the hills and mountains deeper in the surrounding areas were leveled, the ground was scorched and the world specifically designed for people of their caliber to battle it out with no need for concern as to their surroundings had begun to manifest tears in space allowing one a glimpse at the infinite void beyond our reality, to the less knowledgeable this was a battle of gods a duel which had reached its peak and had no means of getting any more intense, to the informed, this was nothing. If one was to look closely they'd notice it, neither of the fighters was giving their all, neither was injured despite the level of attacks they recieved and seemingly dodged by a hairs breath and neither showed any form of discomfort in the form of the air around them being filtered into the apparent cracks or how they were literally trading blows that was destroying the molecules around them in an enclosed space thus depriving them of the basic nessecity one needed to breath, no, they didn't even notice for they weren't even out of breath, both men landed a few metres away from each other, and in a second they readied their stances and burst into a charge that would lead to a collision that would have shaken the world outside, but before they could do it, the world stopped, light halted its movement atoms stopped vibrating and every action in the world paused, time itself had paused and with that all beings under its influence lost their ability to move, through out the world this statement was true, both men and beasts caught themselves stuck in one position and it was all thanks to one woman, the entire world and everything in it lost all action, this held sway for all except for a certain few, the most powerful beings that walk the earth, a black haired blued eyed man and his silver haired companion sitting next to him, a white haired man sitting on a chair at the top of the world's tallest tower a red head who beauty dazzled stars, the two men fighting in the sealed world and a few others, these were not just the cream of the crop of Arcanum users, these were the cream of the crop of Don's, the peak of humanity, they had achieved a level of power that was above such natural phenomenon like space and time, even thought to be able to exist in the absence of both, and just now, a little girl had announced to the world that she had not only reached that level but had dominated one of those natural laws, all those who felt it looked towards the direction of Trident city with mixed emotions, some looking with pride, some contempt and some with excitement at the thought of a new being worthy of fighting but in all their hearts they felt one thing, the world they knew had just changed, whether it was for better or worse only time will tell.

Langris's pov

Eron and I were still testing each other, flinging half-hearted blows In order to get the other to reveal the depths of his powers, I had grown much stronger since he left, strong enough to be able to do this myself, I had hoped it would be able to beat him but it seems he hadn't been slacking off either, each one of his strikes carried that same power and precision he was know for and even though my Arcanum gave me the advantage in speed he still seemed to be able to predict my attacks before I lauched them, we charged at each other enhancing our bodies with ki as well as our Arcanum's for the first time getting a little bit serious, but, before we met, I felt it, the world had stopped, trying to move had taken a little bit out of me but not something I couldn't handle, and the same was true for Eron, we crashed I to each other at faster than light speeds in a massive collision that would have shook the continent but instead, we both got sent back flying by a few feet, as the force of our attacks subsided the flow of time began moving again just as it should, I looked over to Eron and flashed what must have been a cocky smile

'you realise what happened just now do you'

he grimaced instead if answering yet I continued

'our princess is all grown up, both of your boys must be dead by now'

"I didn't pick them for their strenght, it was obvious what was going to happen"

he said, instead I grinned even wider and said

'oh, I thought you belived they would win'

"I knew they'd lose, I just thought they'd take the girl with them"

he then sighed and said

"no matter, I'll just have to take revenge for them, normally it wouldn't be difficult but since I still have your annoying ass to deal with, but, no matter, I'll make it work"

as he said the last part a dangerous glint was present in his eyes, he was holding up well, growing up I had learned two things about this man, he hated it when his toys were broken and he hated it when his friends got hurt, if he saw those men as anything in between he'd still be feeling down if not conflicted at their deaths, a mental state that was perfect for me to take advantage of, every second light bringer grew heavier in my hands a sign that although moderately my fatigue was building up but even in his no doubt troubled state I couldn't sense any discomfort in the grip around his blade, evidence as to who was more tired.

He twirled his blade while taking a stance before saying

"I think its time we take this seriously, wouldn't you agree"

I simply nodded before charging forward with an over head strike, he leaned to the side watching as my attack missed him by a hair and split the ground behind him, he jumped towards the side and I followed, as my blade pulsed with power I intended to slash at his neck but he simply leaned back dodging me almost casually, I continued to chase him gradually increasing my speed and the precision of my attacks but every time he dodged it with minimal effort not once making an effort to counter attack. He was taunting me, trying to get me to bring out my max but instead I made sure to make only minute adjustments to my speed and power because I didn't want to get caught up in his own pace, I was faster than him at full power but he was stronger more durable and had more stamina, if I played to his tune I would end up drained and seal my fate. As such I intended for us to continue this moderate pace while I constantly scanned him for mistakes I could take advantage of but he wasn't showing any, no errors in his stance perfect application of force and the sublime foot work I had admired deeply as a child, he fought like a living representation of a miracle, it only highlighted how sad it was that he had to die. Suddenly an opening appeared, he had over extended when moving on his backfoot and I saw the opening, his hands were positioned too far away to move his sword in time, and with one movement I would be able to cleave open his neck, I rushed at it sure of my victory and with my blade an inch from his jugular, I heard it

"Lighting Arcanum Edict of Repulsion"

my blade slammed into his neck and the next instant I was sent flying, I skidded on the ground for a minute before righting myself, and as I looked up I was met with a Lightning and ki covered blade bearing down on my skull, intent on splitting it in half, a golden flash excluded from my body as I landed a few feet behind Eron gasping for air. I had used it, my full speed, and if I hadn't I would have died, Eron removed his blade from the chasm it had opened and turned around facing me and with a chilling glint in his eye he said

"Little Langris, if you don't take me seriously, I'll kill you"
