It was there where the atmosphere felt heavy on Jess yet for Leroy, his atmosphere was losing oxygen. It would have been as to how they would describe their first quarrel, by having a bitter taste in their mouths. Yet to them it felt different, maybe because Leroy lost some amount of his memory and that it now would seem that Jess was possibly a stranger, or so it felt to Leroy. Jess, on the other hand, had no words, he didn't like the feeling yet there were no words that could be made up.
As said all Jess could feel was guilt but for Leroy, he felt the weight of a certain sadness. Their hearts were both about to break, but they couldn't find the reason for this feeling. No eye contact so far. But the childlike soul in Leroy yearns for curiosity and starts to peak among the corners of Jess's face wondering why this person felt so sad.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
Jess felt startled at first but looked up this time. His teary eyes shined through his glossy hair, hidden under the shame he felt.
"Nothing, I'm just glad you're alive," he replied.
