After watching Cory heading down for a minute or two. I took my first step down and it was easy enough, I thought. And I took another step in but my shoe skidded like it hit the ice.
"Aaah," I yelped flying down until I smacked into Cory's muscular back. Luckily, Cory kept a good balance and stood a firm stance that kept us both from tumbling the remaining way down. Which would have been a decent roll. Seeing how we were barely midway down.
"Are you alright?" Cory asked as I heard that worry in his tone.
Before I could reply I heard Abby's voice behind me. "Sally, are you al... Aaah!" Suddenly, Abby screamed when losing her footing. Her body came down smashing into my back. Which caused me to be sandwiched between Cory and Abby. Upon impact, Cory's two black shoes skid but he digs his heels into the dirt stopping us from plummeting down. Now he has Abby and me using him as a bumper from falling. She hung onto me while I hung onto Cory as if my life depended on it.
"Cory I am so... sorry!" Abby said panting heavily.
"How are you doing, Abby?" Cory asked seeming amused.
"Oh, you know just sliding around," joked Abby as she and I giggle at this funny situation we found ourselves in. Below we heard his Primaries and other Highest-Ranked men beginning to laugh at how hysterical this is to see Cory supporting Abby and me from falling.
Rick called down from the top, "I'm coming Cory just give me a second."
Cory said jokingly, "take your time were good!"
Mike hollered up asking from below. "Do you need more help, Cory?"
At that point, Rick came to us and took Abby's arm getting her off my back.
Cory yelled down, "I think we're good!"
Mike nods as Rick and Abby continued going down just nearing the bottom.
Cory ever so slightly turned his body greeting me with a delightful half-smile.
"Alright my city girl," He started to talk sweetly to guide me. "I want you to turn your feet sideways and take each step down the hill slowly. It will give you a better grip to climb down."
"Like how you're standing sideways?" I asked looking at his side stance just when Abby and Rick made it down.
"Yes, like how I am standing," Cory confirmed very gently. He was being extremely patient with me, I felt. Very carefully, he turned himself forward to face down as he held up his forearm.
"Grab my arm and I'll help you down," He told me still being very helpful. While I felt my body start to tremble from how nervous I am.
I give him my trust and grasped his forearm. He took one easy step down and I followed doing what he did. But again my one shoe slipped and instant panic drove through me! I released his forearm and fall into his back and grasped pretty tightly around his waist as I slid more. Small tiny rocks and black sandy-type dirt rolled down the hill when my shoes skid. Cory ended up sliding some as I heavily breath baring my face into his toned back. All the while Cory grasped my arm that was clung to his waist. Instantly, he stopped us from sliding out of control.
"It's alright my sweets, I have you. I promise you won't fall. If you do JJ and his Division are well prepared for any juries with you ladies." Again Cory's voice sounded so supportive and patient with me. Yet caught his tease to lighten things up. Like he knew what to say to calm my spooked heart down into an easier heartbeat.
"That's so comforting! Just please get me off this hill in one piece!" I said giggling sarcastically to avoid him from knowing his soft words were making me feel better. But there was no way I'd admit that to him.
Cory chuckled at me and said with encouragement. "Your fine baby, in fact, you're doing great."
He cupped my hand taking it off his waist to hold it. I grabbed hard and one step at a time he helped me down the steep hill. The second we made it to the bottom, I felt instant relief.
Maria and Abby giggled as they each hugged me at the same.
"Yay, our city girl made it down!" Maria said in a cheerful glee but it didn't change the fact I felt embarrassed.
"Hey, Sally, even I still slipped," Abby reassured me playfully laughing. "I think I slid in the same spot as you."
Rick added with a chuckle standing around. "Yes, you did, I saw the skid marks from both your shoes. Good thing Cory was there or you both would have gone flying down."
Of course, hearing Rick the men started to laugh amused about the whole sliding incident Abby and I found ourselves in.
"That probably would have left some marks," said Cory as he laughed about it too.
"That hill is steeper than it looks," I said looking up at the steep hill I had just climbed down.
I mean it wasn't like that far of a drop but it was enough to hurt if you weren't careful. At that point, everyone had made it down the steep and started adventuring off straight ahead on the flat ground within the woods. However, I didn't flow but Abby and Maria disappeared between the trees with their husbands and the others. Until it was only Cory, standing here watching me for a second. Aaron and Jay stopped just before reaching the trees that everyone left in. That is until I saw Cory give them a head nod to go on ahead without him.
Before they left Cory and me alone together. They both had that playful glint in their eyes when smirking at Cory.
When he turned his head back towards me. He had such an enchanting smile that melted my heart away.
"Taking in all the sights, I see," He softly said as his voice sounds so beautiful.
I giggled and said beaming a bashful smile. "Yes, this is so new to me, but I enjoy the forest. Never once in my life, I would ever think I'd be here inside one."
Cory walked close enough to touch my face side. That beam I had in my complexion shone even brighter now. And I felt weightless like I floated away to clouds. Again I found myself lost in his dreamy eyes that kept stealing my sight to only noticed him. My heart leaped within my chest just to be near him. As we stayed silent together to only hear birds singing their lovely songs. I took a light breath coming back to reality. While keeping this stupid smile, I couldn't wipe off my lips. Gosh, I was boiling inside for this hybrid man but I had I wake up.
