Gently, I pushed his hand off my face. "What?" I asked like I wasn't dazed by him barely a second ago
Cory smirked and said. "Nothing just watching you look around your new surroundings with such amazement."
I smiled at him and shared. "I know I keep finding myself getting dazzled by how beautiful the forest is. It's just so full of colors and life. It's nothing like the city. The city was packed with people and huge buildings. But I still enjoyed the times, I could look out the windows. Just getting a glimpse at the sun sometimes made my day."
Cory smiled at me and brought me into his arms. As I followed along with it and cuddled into his chest for a soothing hug.
"Being with me you can look out all the windows you wish and you can go outside to enjoy the sun. You're free to enjoy anything you want." His voice whispered into my right ear.
I lifted my head to gaze at him and said feeling sadden. "I know but it's hard at times to realize this was always meant to be my home." I stopped my words looking away to bury the pain beneath me. "I don't understand why I am having a hard time accepting this."
Cory touched my right head side and brushes his fingertips through my hair.
"It will take time, my sweets," He spoke softly again and leaned in kissing my forehead tenderly. Upon feeling his lips touching my flesh, faded away the saddening feeling that cried within me. "Let's join the others."
I nod in agreement as we locked hands together and he lead me straight ahead to where everybody else had gone. Soon I heard loud talking and laughing. Over that, I heard water and even smelled water. Just as we came out of the woods it opened up into a clearing. My mouth curved a smile from seeing a beyond spectacular sight. What I saw were multiple waterfalls coming out of the rocky cliffs from above. The clearing is a massive area that has multiple large rock-make watering pools. The place was a huge marvelous spring. There was no denying that it was a breathtaking sight.
"This is so beautiful," I merely whispered.
"Indeed, we call it the falls," Cory told me as I glazed a smile his way. As he did the same before looking back out.
People were swimming or chilling on the rocky edges of the water. Some groups of people were out of the water laying on the rocks. Others were splashing around the waterfalls. Then there were some groups jumping off the high rocks and diving into the water pool. There was a shorter jump that I noticed the women were using. The men took the higher jump. No, surprise there, I thought, inwardly giggling but everyone was having fun.
I stopped beside Cory taking a look around. And I noticed he was taking a moment to observe his people. Just like he did on that baloney when he proposed to me and announced our engagement to his Kingdom. He has proudness in his eyes. To watch the women and men, he's grown up with, chilling on the rocks and doing whatever else. No doubt, I could tell from Cory's eyes he cared for his people. Maybe Cory wasn't a ruthless tyrant type. That I've heard my masters claim how wicked all Kingdom and Baron Kinds are, I thought. Unsure what to really think about this new home of mine. That has always been my home.
Already shirtless, Aaron came up to us saying. "I got your backpack over here. I grabbed it whenever you tossed it down the hill."
Cory didn't say anything and nodded as Aaron then walked off. Still having my hand, he smiled at me as I smiled back allowing him to lead the way. He took me to this large kinda flat rock. That already had towels and blankets spread out on it. Along with backpacks laying around and shoes.
The huge rock was right on the edge of the water, at the main watering hole that rained the biggest waterfall from the cliffs. So I peeked around finding Maria and Abby alongside the left rocky edges sitting partly in the water chatting with other ladies.
I further looked about to see just this one area was huge. Yet, connecting to it from around more rocks. Were other sections and watering holes you could explore. Overall, the entire spring was massive and beautiful. People were everywhere doing their own thing and going their own way. Luckily, for me, it was more than big enough that I didn't have to be near Courtney, Miranda, Annie, Anna, and the rest of those hateful ladies. On the other side of this water pool. I saw they were chilling with their husbands while sunbathing. This was a huge relief, I felt, liking the idea I could relax and enjoy myself. Without their dirty glares ruining my time to enjoy this moment.
Zip! I turned around to see Cory kneeling when he was unzipping the backpack, he bought. Which took my attention towards him to watch. He lays out this dark gray blanket and then took out two black towels from the bag and set them down on the blanket. Without expecting it, he stood up and whipped his shirt up over his head.
My eyes gaped goggling over his nice body. As the sun rays beamed down on those perfectly sculpt muscles and abs of his. Every ripple of his muscles glittered against the sun.
Gosh, now I was lost drooling over Cory so pathetically. Not even flexing a muscle, his arms were still toned beautifully. He had a muscle tone on his back. Even his pecs and chest were built to the right perfection. Nothing about his body was overly built. His whole body was a pristine muscular tone. Goodness, my fiance was outright gorgeous. Wait, did I seriously just say that? I mean he is my fiance but I don't think I ever inwardly acknowledged that.
"Uhm!" Suddenly, I realized Cory was staring at me with his eyebrow raised.
"See something you like, my sweets?" he questioned holding back a grin.
I swallow hard on this one as my eyes met his. "No, I was just watching you lay out the blanket." Again I lied horribly when I uttered. He gave me a half-grin and I could read that mocking prideful glint.
"Are you sure about that, my sweets," Cory said more like a statement rather than a question. I rolled my eyes to see his beautiful grin widen more.
"Positively sure, Hot Shot, so don't flatter yourself," I sassed him hoping to hurt his ego but he only chuckle at me.
"I'll try not to, Milady," He told me giving me this flirty wink before he turned his back to me. Ugh! He is so aggravating!
