It didn't get any better for me when Cory opened the door and we left the room. Still, a chatty crowd lingered outside Cliff's door. Once again, I found myself face to face with glaring eyes from Courtney, Miranda, and that other woman, that I still, have yet to learn her name. Adding them, with the rest of these hateful ladies gawking their glaring eyes my way. I saw Maria, Selena, and Lucy were gone. Yet I didn't miss to noticed hateful eyes staring in anger at my hand intertwined with Cory's grasp.
As if feeling sick wasn't enough now I was back to dealing with this. Then Cory didn't help by pulling me closer for him to hook his arm around my waist. Was he trying to send a message to those hating ladies?
I wasn't sure about the answer to that. Nevertheless, I went along with it and allowed him to hold me. Together we walked down to his room while I kept my arms at my side. After all, I dared not wrap my arm around him in front of these ladies. Nor would I dare turn around, it's bad enough I could feel their glaring eyes scorching into my back like a laser beam.
The women in Cory's Kingdom gave me a clear message, I will never be their Primary Queen. I thought sadly to myself as we entered the room. Yet so spontaneously, I felt better being here compared to out there. It's sad to even think this but it's the truth, I cannot deny it at that.
"Would you like a drink?" Cory asked when heading around his bar.
"Sure," I said and flopped a seat on the couch section that had the bar behind it. I didn't turn around when I heard glass clinking together following the sounds of pouring liquid. Then Cory came around and took a seat next to me on the couch. I held in my smile to notice he poured me the same drink I had with him yesterday without me telling him. He took one sip of his bitter tar drink and sat it down on the coffee table.
"What did you think of the new arrival?" He asked sorta turning his body to me.
"That was a precious moment," I replied and sipped my drink. "I had no idea we would be coming back to an emergency birth."
"I knew his wife was in labor but I wasn't expecting her to give birth so soon. He had to leave work early over it. Which is no big deal, Cliff works under Aaron's Division so he was patrolling the third-floor today." Cory said.
"I wonder what happened that could've caused it," I said pondering.
"It can be hard to narrow that down. But I know stress can play a factor in that happening. Jenny was involved was that attack during our engagement announcement celebration. She played dead and got lucky that it spared her baby. That could have caused this complication." Cory told me, making me heartbroken to hear that.
I didn't wanna get into that attack it was a very tragic and horrifying memory.
"Im glad she didn't lose her baby," I said. "I hope she recovers soon since it sounded like she was in horrible pain."
"There is no doubt that she is. We have good medicine that will help her recover. The most important thing is that they got the baby out in time in case she did pass into the lifeless state." Cory replied.
"That would be horrible," I said and asked. "Does she have the immortality Gene if she did pass?"
Cory spoke, "yes, she does. It would cause stress on the baby if she did pass. But we would just need to revive her. Most of my men only married women with the immortality Gene. Attacks happen all the time. We lose a lot of unborns over it."
"That's awful," I merely whispered in a saddened way.
"What's wrong," Cory softly asked.
"This new life I am living is very scary to me. I wish I wasn't involved in it." I bravely shared with him even though I wanted to share more but I withheld that part. Since I knew I can't talk him out of this wedding.
Cory remained quiet and reached for his laptop from the table coffee. Once boosting it up he began typing for a minute or more while I finished my drink. I was puzzled about what he was doing. Then I got more perplexed when he placed his laptop on my lap. I looked at him strangely but his eyes only gestured for me to look at the screen.
So I did when he gulped his drink down in one swallow. I found myself mystified by what I saw presented on the screen is a birth document. The document had a picture of this beautiful newborn girl, a handprint, and a footprint. I was confused as to why he was showing me this. Until I scrolled down and found a picture of my birthmark, eye color, weight, hair color, and every detail there was about me was typed out on this birth record.
Right before my eyes, it came to me in plain sight. I was 'Made' into being the first birthed tubebaby Princess born in this Kingdom and then signed by Cory's Grandfather Phil. Phil had claimed for me to be given to the Royal family. Along with it was another signed document by Cory's father for arranging a marriage to his youngest son Cory age 125. Further reading, according to the document nothing was finalized due to my disappearance of uncertainty.
I couldn't believe what I saw. There wasn't any denying it! All details about myself were written in this document. I can't believe what he said was the truth. I could hardly believe what I am reading. The Royals were picking me as his wife as he told me. I was made into being the firstborn tubebaby Princess. But why do I feel as if there is something more?
