Back in the women's dressing room. Maria and I came out of the changing room to show everyone this beautiful gown I am wearing. It's covered with pearls beaded to look like flowers on it. The color was a white-yellow wine. It was a tightly fitted mermaid style and has tight silky fabric sleeves running down my arms. I could barely breathe or move for the matter.
Honestly, I felt like a pearl that was puked up from a clamshell. The white-yellow wine stain color wasn't very flashy to me, I felt. As I looked at Cory's sister sitting on the benches across from me. Violet sat in middle with Ashley on her left and Kimberly was by her right. I could see they just loved it!
Violet about leaps herself off the bench. "That looks beautiful on you, Sally!" She cheered clapping like a giddy girl. "What do you think do you like it?"
"I like it," said Maria reading my face. "I don't know if Sally's like it."
I should've known Violet would act like a girly-girly about me wearing this semi-suffocating gown. Gosh, how do I put it nicely that this gown isn't my taste?
"It's lovely and I like it but..." Of course, I hated it but I didn't wanna be rude. But I couldn't find the right words when I stopped in mid-sentence. Trying to figure out how to say I dislike it.
Sparing me from explaining Amelia and Grandmother Fiona walked in from now arriving. And the first thing they saw is Samantha and Clara playing quietly together on the floor. With the dolls, Ashley had bought them before we showed up.
"Oh, Sally, that is such a beautiful gown!" Fiona was awed to see me. "Violet that looks like something you would wear."
Violet giggled when confessing, "well, actually I did pick this gown for Sally to try on." She looked at me. "Sally, if you don't like it don't worry about it. It won't hurt my feelings because this is your wedding day, not mine."
"It's beautiful but yeah it's a little too flowery and pearly looking for me," I confessed feeling relieved.
I turned around and went back into the changing room with Maria to help me out of this gown. Once I was dressed, we came out facing everyone. It was pretty obvious they had been thinking.
"Well, we just need to think about ideas." Amelia began. "What are your favorite colors and styles you like in dresses?"
Maria giggled with her suggestion, "Sally likes blue so maybe we can find her a dress that has blue on it?"
"Perhaps something with blue Sapphires sewed into it," Amelia added. "You're a Primary Queen you'll need a breathtaking gown."
"I like shoulder straps around the shoulder," I told. "And I don't want anything with sleeves. But Sapphires would be perfect and the color I am looking for is a frosted pure white."
"Now this gives us an idea. Plus you want it to flow out, dazzle, shine, and sparkle. People from all over the Kingdom, including our Allies will be having their eyes on you. You need to look like our Primary Queen and show our Allies you are the perfect symbol as a Primary Queen and wife to Cory." Kimberly said on the bench while rocking Samuel.
"That is right, I dazzled when wearing my wedding. My husband was the Head King before passing it to Cory. This is an extra special Royal Wedding. You aren't just any Queen rank you are the Primary Queen. Until the next Primary King is born within the family line. Then Cory will pass his reign down making you an Elder Queen. And who knows maybe the son you birth Cory could be our next Primary King." Fiona said partly sicken that she had to lie to Sally about her real identity.
In the room, only Fiona and Amelia knew the truth about Sally holding a higher rank title over Primary Queen. If Sally only knew, she had equal power as a Primary King, Fiona thought. But both older youthful-looking women were forbidden to share this with Sally. Or else it could cost them everything their past Primary Kings had earned. In making their Kingdom extremely powerful since the timing of being mortal. For that reason, Fiona withheld her tongue and justified herself for lying to her dear future granddaughter. But it must be done, Fiona inwardly convinced herself.
My face turned ghostly pale from hearing Fiona even mention me birthing Cory a son. "I should sit down," I said feeling sick and dizzy, and tumbled to the bench by Ashley's right.
"It's ok Sally," Maria touched my back after taking a seat next to my left. "It's only pre-wedding butterflies. Most of us have gone through this so it's very normal. By the end of it, you and Cory are going to love each other dearly."
"I can't see how I will ever love him whenever I hate him for making me do this! And I made that very clear to him but he still doesn't care!" I snipped out of anger to think about Cory. The thought of that rigid man frustrates me deeply.
