I stood up from her bedside so she could get out of bed. And I helped her unwrap the blanket from covering her up.
"I'll be ready in a bit," said Sally entering her closet to grab some clothes.
"Take your time I'll return later with Maria," I told her outside the closet while I heard her searching for something to wear.
Sally replied, sounding quite excited, "ok, that sounds great!"
I began to take my leave down the hallway. I knew there was more to her dream than she was willing to tell me. Apart of me wanted to drag it out of her but I knew that might make her withdraw from me. And I kinda figured she'd dismiss my offer when I mentioned she could speak to Mike and Matt but I tried.
Sally had stronger willpower than she even understood. I admire this about her even if it was a bit challenging to work with. But there is nothing wrong with a good challenge. After all, she'll be my soon-to-be wife. I'd anticipate marrying a Grand Duchess would have its challenges.
However, I was curious if this has anything to do with her being the Grand Duchess. I have never seen anyone's eyes turn grey like that. The men's and teenage boys' pupils will dilate when given an adrenaline pen or healing pen with adrenaline in it. But that's caused by the adrenaline high from using the pen injection. Even with no injection a males eye will dilate slightly on a natural adrenaline.
I left the room knowing well she wasn't ready to share with me what the dream was about. But I let it be, when she's ready, I am sure she'll share it with me, I hopefully thought.
From snapping my door closed outside of my room, I saw my guarding men in Aaron's Division giving me a strange look. Even though our rooms are soundproof, I knew they heard Sally screaming. Since only us hybrid men can tune in our hearing to hear past a found proof wall or a low pitched noise. It was questionable what they were thinking. They may have likely thought, I was making her submit.
Instead of speaking to them, I went in my left direction. Where more of the residents' rooms are down this long wide hallway. My Highest-ranked men whom are also my close friends. Didn't ask me anything but they did not have to when Jay was here outside his door. He was even giving me that same questionable expression.
"What going on?" Jay inquired softly coming up to me the remaining way. "We heard screaming coming from your room. A lot of us are wondering what's up. Since we didn't get any alert signal indicating we needed to come in."
Before answering I stared around at my patrolling men within the hallway. Most of them sorta veered off doing their job. Which was guard this third floor.
So I started to tell him. "Sally had a nightmare and woke up screaming. She hardly shared any detail about the dream and only said she was lost in a forest and heard someone calling her name..."
"Maybe it's just trauma," Jay stated interrupting me.
"It's the way she woke up though." I restarted whispering. "When she woke up screaming her eyes were gray like she was in a trance. It's like she wasn't here until her eyes returned to their normal color."
Now his eyes widen with a better understanding of what I was saying. Jay looked around for a second seeing only men around guarding and no women or girls. Since most of the boys were at training headquarters.
"I wonder if this has something to do with her being who she is," said Jay in a whisper.
"It's possible," I said going around him as he started to walk next to me. "The way her eyes discolored like that wasn't anything considered normal for our female breed, something is up." I softly finished reaching John's door a couple of doors away from my Primaries.
Twice I knocked on his door and waited for him to answer. Jay was still standing here taking in what I shared with him. Like him, I didn't even know what to think either.
It didn't take John long for him to answer the door letting Jay and me into his living room then he fasten the door. John's room was set up no different than my room. Only behind the one section of his L-shaped couch, there was no window with a backless cushioned bench. Instead, there was a door which was Clara's room. Then Jake's room was behind the bar. Jake was still at training and Clara wasn't anywhere seen.
"Maria will be out shortly," John informed me then lifted his brow and asked softly. "Is something wrong?"
I spoke to him softly in the unknown language and explained to him what happened. John was lost for words and didn't know what to say.
"That's interesting," was all John could murmur when another knock came at his door. So he answered it to find JJ was standing outside.
[Author's note ~ Yes, you'll learn about healing adrenaline pens and the unknown language later on like the ticker guns. Keep in mind their weapons are made unique. There is even the different types samurai swords that each Division specifically uses, including their guns as well.]
