Chapter 147 - Ch 147: Beast the Loyal Companion

The large black wolf came walking up from behind her on the path.

"Grrr."

The black-furred wolf growled in a low cracky mumble. Sally about came unglued and started climbing up Aaron's torso. It took a lot in me not to chuckle at how cute she looks right now. Jay and Aaron even tried not to laugh at how comical this was. For once, I thought her petrified face and her terrified reaction were adorable. She had the reaction I had expected and visualized how this would go in my head.

"Sally, look, it's alright," I told her delicately. "Just watch me for a second."

Shaken she directed her head towards me but she never let her grip go from around Aaron's ribs. Nevertheless, she watched as I approached the wolf and started to pet his head and ears. Her eyes about gaped and her jaw widely flexed open. Altogether we chuckle as her priceless expression only increase to be more cutely funnier.

"What are you doing!" She shrieked and panicked in Aaron's ear. "Do you not know how dangerous that creature is!" Her grip on Aaron's ribcage only tightens. She was in such disbelief to watch me pet this dangerous wolf.

"Calm down, Sally," Aaron said very gently. "He's friendly and tame for the most part."

But she was horrified so it took her a second to comprehend what Aaron said. Her mind was blown to see this.

"I promise, he isn't going to hurt you," I cajoled her.

Sally calmed her heart rate and saw the wolf was giving Cory a friendly response. Her tight grip started to ease up around Aaron's ribs.

"Are you alright?" Aaron asked with concern. "You slammed into me hard enough to knock you off balance."

The fear in her eyes was gone and she came to her senses and got off Aaron's torso. I could tell she was embarrassed from how her cheeks turned reddish. She even tucked some hair behind her ear and her fingertips fiddled again. But she stood her posture straight and acted as if nothing happened. At least that's what she was trying to do but I still saw she was blushing. Her attempt to try playing it cool wasn't fooling me or my friends. But it didn't change that fact, I still thought her behavior was cute.

"It hurt a little but I am fine." She eventually answered but cocked her head some at Aaron asking. "How did you not get the wind knocked out of you? I ran directly into your chest and stomach."

None of us could hold it in any longer and we chortle at her. It's surprising, we were even able to hold it in this long. But I tried to stop when her arms crossed under her ribs and she rolled her eyes getting frustrated at us.

"If you want to knock the wind out of me. You're going to have to hit me a lot harder than that." Aaron said trying to cool himself down from laughing.

"I think you guys might train way too much, you're like tanks," said Sally with some sassy personality.

"Yeah, and you just ran into one." I couldn't hold back and said it. "I'm surprised you weren't knocked out." She huffed loudly at us but we eased our laughter down. "Come here I want to see you."

I was genuinely worried about her and her annoyed expression vanished when I showed her that. Since I was nearby the wolf, she cautiously sauntered toward me. Her eyes were fearful looking at the wolf as he stood vastly. Taking her attention to me, I cupped her face in my palms and studied her eyes for a minute.

"Cory, what are you doing?" She asked me likely feeling awkward.

"Making sure you don't have a concussion," I explained and further studied her pupils. "Your eyes look good so I think you're, surprisingly alright. You hit Aaron pretty hard. I'm amazed you didn't break a bone too. You're much tinier compared to us."

"Yeah, I'm surprised too. When you're running you need to pay attention to where you're going." Jay advised her standing near Aaron's left.

"I'll have to remember that the next time I run into a dangerous creature." Sally gave a sarcastic temperament.

I laughed at her and said. "You're fine, Sally. Like I said he's not going to hurt you." I gently took her hand as she looked at me with a mixture of emotions between confusion and worry and probably thought I was crazy. "Let him take in your scent."

Even though she didn't want to she allowed me to lead her gently toward the wolf but she was still nervous. The wolf growled lightly causing her to be startled and scared. She ended up pushing herself up against me.

"Maybe this isn't a good idea." She said panicked. "I don't think he likes me that much!"

"Grr!"

The wolf lowly growled again.

Her body yanked back so I held around her waist and pulled her into my torso."You can trust me, Sally, if he would try to hurt you. I'd ever allow him. I can assure you he won't hurt you. Just hold your hand out to him and let him approach you." I instructed, merely whispering into her ear.

Jay and Aaron stood back watching quietly. Sally followed my instructions and nervously held out her shaken hand, allowing the wolf to approach her. The wolf took one step forward and sniffed her palm. Then he moved up to her stomach and legs and continued to sniff in every scent he could smell on her.

Sally held her breath petrified while she felt her heart pounding out of her chest. Which made me inwardly smile to feel her uncomfortable reaction. Whether she understood, I was in full control.

"It's alright, Sally." I comfort her again in a whisper. "He's getting your scent."

Being satisfied, my black-furred wolf sat down in front of her and touched her hand with his wet nose.

"Now he knows you're scent. He knows you and I are together. In his eyes, you're my mate." I explained to her with a pleased half-smile at my wolf. I understood he was happy, I brought Sally home.

Sally gave a smile touching his thick pointed ear. "How did you do this?" She asked astounded. "He's a wild creature of the forest. A very dangerous one for that matter."

I easily released her from my hold and stood next to her, watching my wolf take in her affection. "We are mind linked together. He is the alpha of his pack and in his viewpoint, I am the alpha over him. I call him Beast he is my loyal companion and friend."
