Chapter 143 - Ch 143: A Primary King's Role

Now this made sense, I reckoned, as I gestured to understand. And she's right, I have only shown her the intimidating side of me. This imprint has me so off lately, I haven't been myself recently. I mean sure she's right I am intimidating but I haven't shown her the more chilled back side of myself.

Seeing she was looking at me again, I lightly smiled and said. "That's why I thought this walk would be good for us. We need to get to know each other. I want you to be comfortable and not just see me as intimidating. If Nick's daughter doesn't see me as intimidating. I'm sure someday maybe you won't too. I mean Samantha had fun playing a broad game with Matt, Jay, and me when we babysit her yesterday."

Sally giggles and said expressing such disbelief. "You baby-sat a five-year-old girl and played a kid's game!"

I chuckled fairly loud to see her cute expression. "Why is that so hard to believe?" I asked her laughing. "I am always around Samantha. She's my little niece, Nick is one of my best friends, and I view him as my brother. He helps me run this Kingdom. So of course I will always be there for his daughter but even if he wasn't one of my Primaries. I'd still be there for his daughter. I'm close with some of my other Highest-Ranked men who have families too. Like with Ash, Mason, and Justin you recently met. I am close to their kids too. I've been watching them grow up since infancy."

"Hmmm," she hummed thinking for a second, and smiled. "I honestly didn't see you like that kinda Primary King."

I sighed and took a moment to think about what she thought about me. Sure ya, I'll admit I am a cold-hearted tyrant. My dear bride doesn't even know the hideous aspects of myself. She has every right to see me as a venomous man since I am. But here I was blinding her from that ruthless killer that I am. This way our imprint together can grow rightfully.

"I can understand that because I still have a role to play as a Primary king. Sometimes there are tough decisions to make. Then I do have to make punishments on my men if they do something that requires it since run a decent Kingdom. Other times, I have to punish the women married or not. Then sometimes I have to punish the teens. If the situation is drastic enough that their fathers can't be the only ones to correct them. But that only happens if those kids were to do something that would affect the kingdom in general. But if rules get broken by anybody else I still have to make my correction. Then I also have to be a tough mentor when training those boys. A lot of times the mothers aren't always happy with me. When it comes to training their sons." I explained.

Sally asked, "how rough are you with training them?"

"Like I've told you before it depends on the age. The little ones get it easy as he hits into his teen years it gets tense. Sometimes it's hard for the mothers to learn what we do. But these are the laws of the Kingdom whether they're going to stay in the military or not. Every Kingdom or Baron male born gets trained. No matter what job he'll choose to be in within the Kingdom. It doesn't matter if he'll be in construction, scientist, home interior, inventor, or whatever. They still have to train until they are age hundred. We all play our part in the Kingdom. Once his training course is done, he no longer has to train. Although, I always advise every man and teenager boy in my Kingdom to continue training. Whether they are in my military or not, I feel it best." I further explained to her.

"Why's that?" She innocently asked me.

"If we have an attack the men need to remember their skills to protect their families. Of course, my military and I will protect their families but sometimes it's too late and we don't get there on time. It could make a big difference. If he kept up with his training." I honestly told her.

Sally looked me squarely in the eye and said while we kept on walking. "I can see why you would recommend it."

"There's the natural creek up ahead. It helps the berries and fruits grow." I said pointing my finger out to change the intense topic. Honestly, I was here to be with her not jabber on about how I run the Kingdom. I could see what I said was making her scared again which wasn't my tension.

But reaching the large Creek was seemingly relaxing. Sally walked up to the waterline and looked into the clear deep stream and saw multiple beautifully colored rocks in it. While I took a seat on a nearby log sitting alongside the creek. She partly looked behind her and backed up four steps. To take a seat beside me staring at the water.

"This is so peaceful and beautiful here." She said breaking the quietness between us. "I love the noise of the water flowing, it's very calming." She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. I noticed something was up when I saw those beautiful eyes seemed saddened.

"Seems like something is on your mind," I said facing her on the log next to me.
