Chapter 139 - Ch 139: His Jelly Bride

~ The second he took me outside to this veranda, I felt great relief. To get away from those women. From the far right side was a ton of teen boys playing a rough game of ringball, inside a chained-fence court. Tons of teen girls were watching and cheering them on. Some of the girls were laying out on blankets braiding each other's hair and coloring their fingernails. I couldn't help but smile at the youthful teens.

"It looks like all of them are having fun," I said to Cory.

Cory chuckled and said still holding my hand. "Indeed, the boys enjoy playing sports, it's good for them to do. It benefits their training and helps to keep their stamina up and strengthen those muscles. Also, it keeps them out of trouble with the girls."

"Who causes more trouble?" I asked as we walked passed them. "The teen girls or boys?"

"It's unquestionably the boys. They're a huge pain to deal with at times." Cory said laughing as we kept scrolling on by.

"Why do you say that?" I giggled and asked. "Girls can be moody at times."

Cory chuckles and clarified. "Girls may get moody but they hearken and obey their father's authority. Now the boys will heed, but their hormones are higher. Since their learning combat skills. This can cause issues especially if they're fighting over a girl. But challenging and fighting isn't breaking any law with the men or boys. But if it oversteps then their fathers, my Primaries, or I have to step in to correct it."

"I can see why that may be a pain," I said as we entered the garden pathway. "So the women and girls can't physically fight but the boys and men can?"

Cory somewhat grinned and said. "Yes, with boys and men it's different for us. There are moments we need to physically fight to release the building frustration. However, we are always training and part of the training is learning control. But the teen boys will challenge each other and fight over petty things like girls. Depending on their age they haven't yet learned control."

I giggled and asked curiously. "Have you ever fought over a girl?"

The first thing I noticed was his eyes seemed to gape. Maybe I did ask the right question. His expressions seemed sorta priceless and funny, I thought. As he gave me a half-grinned snicker. While we kept roaming around the garden trails.

"Yes, I've been young once and fought over many girls with my cousins." He finally admitted as he tried not to chuckle. "But the point I was making is you have to acquire control and get along."

"I understand what your saying," I responded but tilted my head to catch him trying to change the topic. I wonder if I was making him nervous and decided to ask a bolder question.

"Was Rachel one of those girls you fought over during your younger teen years?" I wasn't sure why but I honestly wanted to know. Yet, deep inside I felt this weird feeling in my stomach. But I flashed him a faint grin when he looked at me. All while I waited for his response as we kept sauntering. Again I saw that brow of his raise and he faintly chuckled when looking away. But I still sorta faced him while paying attention to my steps.

"Yes, she was one of them I fought over," Cory answered not sure where this was coming from, and in some sense, he read this new vibe coming from her. "Now Sally, you aren't envious of her?" Cory asked a bold question with a big smirk.

I stopped dead in my tracks and blasted him a dirty look in great anger. The nerve of him to think such stupidity! Like I'd ever be jealous!

Unaffected by it, Cory laughed to catch that jealous glint in her eyes. He beamed in a huge grin on this one to see his bride was jelly, he thought gloating.

Seeing his gloating face didn't help my anger. "Why would I be jealous of her!" I spat in his face. "You are so not worth fighting over!"

I released his hand free and went to turn back around. But I felt Cory's hands grip around my waist and he gently spun me back. For me to him to see that ridiculous smirk on his face!

"Are you trying to insult me?" He mockingly asked when laughing. "You're going to have to do better than that my sweets."

This only made me more furious and annoyed. "Let go of me, Cory!" I barked. "I want to go back inside!"

"Sure, I'll let you go when you can fight outa my grip." He teased grinning.

I gave him a deathly scowl and fought hard to get his arms off my mid-section. With all my might I tried to push his arms off me. Which I understood was hopeless considering how strong he is.

So I sorta glared at him but said more calmly. "Let me go."

"No, I'm not letting you go. I told you we are taking a walk." Cory said half-grinning.

"I am done walking with you!" I urged him rudely while annoyed. "Let me go or else!"

Cory laughed harder at my threat and asked teasingly. "Or else what? You can't even get yourself outa my grip! I am really curious about your; OR ELSE!"

I stopped for a minute and realized he was enjoying this way too much for his liking, I surmised.

So I eased my frustrations and said shining a smile to play along. "Or else you can just sleep in the hallway outside the room door."

"Oh, really!" Cory gleamed amused in his laughter and asked."How do you plan on doing that?"

"I'll block the door with the couch." I mocked a smile.

Cory said playfully chuckling. "You think blocking the door will stop me. What if I just climb up the balcony? Then what?"

"I'll lock the doors." I gleamed and mocking told him.

Cory pulled me closer to him as I pointlessly fought. But he won me over by planting a tender kiss on my forehead. I don't know why but I stopped fighting him and my anger was lessening. Oh, the nerve of this infuriating hybrid man!
