Chapter 121 - Ch 121: Murderous Side

~ I didn't reject the help from Nick and Ash. For extra support and balance, they wrapped their arms around my mid-body. And I willing held my arms around them without complaint.

Then my memory jarred to recognize Ash was one of the men who came with Cory that day he murdered my master. Ash and this other man are the ones who I assured put my master in a body bag that day.

"Take small steps," Ash said steadily in his voice.

Both men walked me across the sidewalk to Nick's black fast looking sports car parked at the curb. In easy steps, they walked me around the car. Another man opened the passenger door and both Nick and Ash turned me and put me down on the seat.

Which gave me a better look at Ash. Ash was quite the catcher in his very attractive appearance. His light brown hair was chopped in a buzz cut. He had an egg-square face, defined jawline, strong idea nose, protrude-shaped eyes that are bronze color, and natural ideal lips.

No doubt he was a dream but I had to stop staring to realize Nick saw me eyeing him. A realization came to me, I am engaged to Cory the Primary King. Making Ash likely a Highest-ranker from Nick's Division. Surprisingly though, Nick caught me looking at another man but said nothing to me about it.

With the other men, Ash walked away not saying a word. Without speaking to me, Nick carefully shut the door once my legs were in. Then he went around and got in the driver's seat and shut his door.

Afterward, he waited for a second, studying the men under his division, cleaning up the bodies in the alley. Then he turned and looked at Sally's bleeding lip and saw her cheekbone was swollen from being hit. Nick sighs under his breath, he had to clean her up first. If Cory saw her like this he'd be livid, he thought. Not at him but over the fact another man even dared to strike his bride. He knew back at the mansion, Cory was just pacing to get her back. Nick understood, Cory was off from his bond connection and he was a ticking bomb. Merely at that brink of going off. Çory's murderous side would be unforgiving and quite cruel, compared to his usual. Like a good pal, Nick and everyone else kept Cory out of this situation and gave him their guarantee. Sally would be back and things would be dealt with. After all, he understood, what Cory was going through with having this newly formed bond connection.

So he knew it was a bad idea for Cory to see his bride in such poor condition. It didn't help that he felt his phone going off like crazy, knowing very well, it was Cory. But for now, he ignored the constant buzzing going off in his pocket and opened up a secret compartment on his door side by a button. Where he pulled out a black bag. He unzipped it and started going through the medical supplies inside it. Nick pulled out a rag, healing wipe, and an ice pack that would never go cold once you switch it on.

He faced Sally and touched her chin lightly. He grabbed the rag and started to clean off the blood on her face, and alley dirt she had on her legs. As she sat there frozen, allowing him to clean her up. Even though he knew it was JJ's job. To do this part and heal any juries Sally may sustain. But he couldn't let Cory see her like this and took it upon himself to fix Sally up some. Once she was semi-cleaned up. He held up the ice pack on her cheek. Using his teeth, he opened the healing wipe, then Nick used it on her lip. Her face cringed in pain but soon it let up.

"Hold this on your face," Nick said. "It will stop the swelling."

I didn't respond and only held the soft gel ice pack to my right cheekbone. I watched as he put the medical supplies away and closed up that hidden compartment. He reached in front of his pocket and pulled out his phone. I saw it flicking off like crazy but he didn't look at it. Instead, Nick put it on his lap and started his car with a fingerprint scanner. He pulls out onto the street way and starts driving.

Just down the road, I noticed now, that Nick text someone on his phone.

Still shaken, I asked, "Was that Cory you just messaged?" I was curious yet terrified at the same time.

"Yes, that was. He isn't very happy right now about this. I can tell you that now." With no expression, Nick replied looking out at the road. His voice sounded so stern and serious.

He caused me to feel this panic overcome me with the way he answered. But I tried my best to ease my mind and looked out the window. Where I noticed from the side view mirror, tons of cars followed from behind Nick's car. Still keeping my cheek iced, I looked back at Nick driving.

He was chilled and slouched back in his seat with one hand on the steering wheel. His other hand lays on his lap while he held his phone. No different than Cory, there was no indication on his face I could read. Nick didn't even look angry. Even when it was debatable to me if he was angry from his attitude. Honestly, he presented to look like he was chilled and maybe tired from the shade of dark cycles around his eyes.

Even after Nick and those guys just heartlessly killed those scavengers. He showed no ounce of remorse. After what he did, he could easily lean back in his seat like nothing. As if killing was like a daily routine for him, I questioned inside my head. Although I shouldn't this is what I should expect. He's a Kingdom man, ranked as a Primary. Doing dirty deeds likely comes easy for him and Cory's other men, I suspected. Even though, I didn't want to think like this.
