Justice League Roster Update: The Justice League has inducted the Black Canary.
2008 - Antarctica - Primary Backup Fortress of Solitude
Dozens of bunkers have been set up around the world. Some were done by Green Arrow. Some belong to Batman. And the rest were set up by myself. While teleportation technology is being used by the League, you never know when League locations can be compromised and you need a place to regroup, access resources, or rest to recover from an attack.
Through the Fortress, I've infiltrated the Internet and established backdoors in most government agencies and prominent organizations and companies around the world. It's being monitored through Kelex to determine possible threats. Undetectable trojans were used to infect computers of many wealthy individuals, most members of the tech sector, people involved in scientific breakthroughs, top candidates in certain chosen fields like biotech, nanotechnology, study of people with power, and many other computers were targeted. With the trojans, once infected it could spread to any computers they were connected to. So if they had a computer that wasn't connected to the internet, but it was connected to a computer that was at any point in time after, it would continue to spread. As soon as a fresh computer tried to transfer a file or communicate with the infected computer, BAM, it would continue its spread.
I'm using Kelex to his potential. While I'm slightly afraid I could be creating another Brainiac with this "hunger" for knowledge, I'm certain I've built in enough safeguards to prevent a rampant AI.
It's become obvious that the Superman of the fictional world of comic books and other media always was a blunt instrument. He played whack-a-mole with criminals. When Superman appeared and after he started fighting crime, criminal organizations and secret societies must have figured out how Superman operated and changed their methods to accommodate Superman's interference in their criminal activity. As long as Superman had a criminal to punch and a damsel to save, he was satisfied not looking deeper. But I'd bet the smart criminal were thrilled with how simple Superman could be handled. Think about it. Follow the Lex Luthor method. Create a diversion like a silly monster-of-the-week or Big-Bad-of-the-week/month and Superman wouldn't look beneath the surface to figure out that his interference was baked into their pie. They designed their plans and budgets (cut their losses) to factor in Superman. As long as obvious giant robots and crazy, loud villains were screaming "Die, Superman!" then Superman was distracted from the concealed criminality.
I've ordered Kelex to monitor for criminal activity and copy data for all scientific advancements and projects. While the technology I have access to is much more advanced than Earth technology, never underestimate DC Earth universes when it comes to surprises. For example: perfected cloning, memory erasure/restoration, power bestowal like from Project Ares, Amazo, Stargirl's staff, Captain Cold's Cold Gun, Mister Freeze's freezing tech, Cosmic Treadmill, cross-dimensional portals, Canary Cry Bomb, Dr. Sivana's Recreation Machine, or any other number of impossible technology that put a lot of alien civilizations' tech to shame.
I would like to get my hands on a lot of this tech. Not that I need it, but it would be nice to have in my arsenal to bestow upon my androids to improve their weaponry or give to the Justice League for those without powers. The Bat Family could do well with having access to some of the weaponry tech in particular.
Speaking of technology, I need to start taking steps to protect technology that shouldn't be sitting out vulnerable to potential thieves. Some technology has a chance to cause widespread damage. I'm more suited to be a guardian of this dangerous tech.
2008 - Metropolis, Kansas - Justice Society of America (JSA) Brownstone
In Flash Time, I phased through the building, seized the Green Lantern battery and power ring, then placed the replicas I had fashioned to not alert anyone to the theft. Then, I phased back through the building and went to the Fortress.
2008 - Arctic Circle - Fortress of Solitude
"Jor-El, I need this Green Lantern battery and power ring analyzed, "I stated, "I know you're familiar with the Green Lanterns. I've managed to get hold of this from a museum. It's too dangerous to be sitting there. We will reverse engineer the technology. This will be an ongoing project. We will be figuring out how to duplicate the lanterns and power rings. I'm unsure if the ring has a computer inside it like the rest of the Lantern rings in the Universe. If it does, we will need to hack the programming in the ring and lantern to figure out how to form a connection to the primary battery on Oa that will allow updates to our repository of knowledge. From my understanding, the ring operates as a universal translator and has access to a library of knowledge provided by the Guardians of the Universe."
"Affirmative, Kal-El." Jor-el said.
"Kelex, please assist Jor-El with his analysis so we can reverse engineer this technology."
I know it's possible to reverse engineer it because Lex Luthor did it in Superman: Red Son. I'd like to give power rings to members of the Justice League if they'd like one. I figure who better than the Justice League should have all of its members with powerful weapons like a Green Lantern ring. On second thought, maybe it would be better to keep the "most powerful weapon in the world" as a backup in case of alien invasion or something. We can have the rings in reserve, and I can pass them out if I am ever that desperate.
The most useful ability of the Green Lantern that I would like to use regularly is the ability to travel intergalactic distances quickly. The ring is capable of generating its own wormholes - a Green Lantern can travel anywhere its wielder can conceive of, in the relative blink of an eye. The iring is also capable of at least relativistic speeds and under duress might be able to push out faster than light speeds at great energy expenditures. As long as a Green Lantern can keep their lantern battery in a pocket dimension, they can travel anywhere.
The second most useful ability I want to take advantage of is the ability to use pocket dimensions. Green Lanterns can store their lantern batteries in a pocket dimension. I want to use it as the ultimate bat-belt. I could store powerful weapons, ships, or any device imaginable at the tap of my ring to open and access the pocket dimension. I know I have technology in the Fortress that can likely duplicate this, but having a Lantern ring that has all these capabilities, why try to reinvent the wheel? The pocket dimension might even have time dilation effects from entering the pocket dimension. What if I could live for years in the pocket dimension, but only a second passes in real life (current dimension)? I could constantly improve my abilities, using it as a hyperbolic time chamber that can be accessed with a twitch of a finger.
Finally, the last ability I would like is the utilization of the computer part of the ring. I would manipulate the computer to set certain parameters for programs that would run constantly, like environmental scans so I could never be taken by surprise, or setting a program that runs if I'm miraculously rendered unconscious to get me out of the situation is possible or resolve the situation for me while protecting me as well. Maybe a program to summon the battery and recharge me anytime I'm at rest and below like 50%?? Why do I have to manually do that when the advanced computer can communicate and can be instructed to perform certain tasks? Why not create which are essentially scripts to run when certain parameters are met. It's a much more efficient use of my time.
