Chapter 5 - The First Day of School...Wait System, Why Are You Here? (2)

'System, help!' I screamed in my head. 'There's the number two of the right above my head!'

'Really? Oh I see. I'll be right there!'

"Join us or die!" Apollyon, still floating above me, declared. He doesn't seem to be aware that I can call the System.

"How about no?" I respond.

"Then die!" Apollyon immediately materializes a sword and slices down on me. It was all so fast I couldn't do anything. However, when the sword beam was about to reach me a figure suddenly appeared. It was the System!

It smacked the sword and its beam away like it was swatting a fly. The beam landed on some nearby trees and sliced through them like tofu.

"Who are you?" Apollyon asked. He had never seen anyone block that before. Only two could. The rank one Multiverse Destroyer and the leader of the This kid in front of him is neither. So, how did he do it?

"I'm Systema!" Oh no, it just revealed its identity.

"I don't know who that is, but now you have to die!"

What? He didn't discover the System? That trick actually works?

I guess the System really did try this in other worlds. This world is just so much an anomaly that that the System can't even block it from invaders.

Apollyon and the System charge up some epic-looking abilities. I step back to not get hit in the crossfire. Just as they were about to launch into battle, Apollyon suddenly loses focus. He looks at his panel. "Yes!" Apollyon screams. I'm finally level 500! Time to fight the final boss!"

Hey wait, he only reached level 500 right now? Was it because he had missions for the

Apollyon must've leveled from the small amount of XP he got from accidentally killing dire wolves. But why didn't he just level up before coming to recruit me? Why was he even trying to recruit me?

Apollyon completely forgets about the battle and starts the final boss battle. In real life, the final boss gets summoned to you when you reach the required level.

A guy with black hair appears. It's the final boss that I fought ten months ago. Ten Orb Wizards surround him.

'Should we leave?' I ask the System.

'No, lets watch!' The System is excited about the upcoming battle.

'But I already beat him, let's escape!'

'If we need to escape, I can just teleport us back to school.'

I guess that's right. Fine, let's watch.

Currently, Kai still has his mask on. I wonder how he feels getting killed multiple times. Does his memories reset or he is programmed or something?

Apollyon recharges his skills. He has extra skills from his world that give him an edge when it comes to combat. His world seems to be oriented on swords, since his sword slash was definitely not one of the skills in

That's why even though I'm 24 levels above him, I still couldn't dodge his attack. Lucky b*stards born in powerful worlds with a gold spoon in their mouths.

I decide to open my panel on my phone and allot some stat points to attack speed and movement speed.

In you get five stat points for every time you level up your adventure level. You can allot them to stats like physical DMG, skill DMG, attack speed, movement speed, crit rate, crit damage, HP, and stamina. I haven't used much of my points thinking that I should use them when I needed them. In-game, I never needed them. So I have 427 points.

I'm clearly lacking when it comes to the Don't even get me started on Ofusac. So I need to brush up my base stats or I might get killed. What if someone tries to kill me on the spot?

100 points go the attack speed and 50 points go to movement speed. I'm buffed up now. Time to be a speedy ninja!

What else should I spend my points on?

I dwell on it as Apollyon fights the Orb Wizards. Like me, he "manages" to shatter Kai's mask. He looks surprised but quickly gets over it.

Kai then starts up his monologue. Unlike in-game, Apollyon can still attack. Kai is in "invincible mode" though, so the blows glance off.

Kai was about to finish when he spots me. "And I took over—Wait, who's that?"

Apollyon looks over at me. The System waves. "Just a pair of corpses."

I feel insulted. I can beat you up now! Don't underestimate me!

"Is his name Keltrex?" Kai asks.

Apollyon goes on the offensive again. "How would I know?" Apollyon grunts after another failed attempt to kill Kai.

"It is!" The System answers, telling my name to the final boss.

"Sh*t. He killed me ten months ago!"

Apollyon pauses in shock. "What did you say?!"

"He killed me ten months ago. He only took 44 tries! Is he your friend?"

Apollyon gapes at me. "44 tries?! Only 44?! Even Ofusac took 62!" Of course it was shorter for me, I killed him in-game. I didn't need fighting skills or training.

"I know right? He's a monster!"

Is Kai not aware I only killed him in-game? It doesn't look like he knows.

"Hey, we're not friends, so just kill him." I say. It's better to have Kai kill Apollyon and send him back. Even if Kai kills me, I will revive as he's considered a NPC. However, if Apollyon kills me, I'm dead for good.

"Whew." Kai looks relieved. "Then let's fight!"

Apollyon snaps back into battle mode. The boss fight restarts, with more intensity as both sides now have full energy. Another reason I won so quickly, in-game I don't get tired.

Apollyon is killed a couple of seconds later. Even I only lasted five seconds the first battle, so Apollyon died even more quickly. He fell, then disappeared from this universe. That sounds like he's dead, but he only went back to his universe.

Kai looks over at me, then disappears as well. All's well that ends well. What does that even mean?

Asidus joins us a few minutes later, panting. "Systema! Where did you go?"

"Hey, System...a, why didn't you tell him you were teleporting?"

"It was an emergency!" it defended.

"What emergency? Whoa, what happened here?" Asidus asks after seeing the trees that were sliced like vegetables.

"Er...um...there was a battle."

"Yeah, a giant level 40 dire wolf suddenly appeared and I had to save Keltrex! It was a boss monster," the System jumps in. "Oh, I can teleport due to one of my starter skills."

Asidus isn't convinced. "Then why were the trees chopped up? I don't think wolf claws can do all that."

"Here's a picture of the wolf's blade like claws." The System sends Asidus a picture of the "wolf" using the interface. You can't fake pictures you take using the panel, so it's foolproof. Unless you're the System.

I wish I could tell Asidus about the but what if he insists I go into protection? If I say I'm fine, he will ask me how. I will have to show some strength, or my adventure level, to convince him. Then he will ask how I got so high in ten months. Am I supposed to say I got a strange phone from the System and played as a mobile game?

Asidus' doubts were cleared. "Okay then, let's go to the PvP arena!" He pulls the System and I to the teleportation gate that takes us back to school. He then drags us to the packed PvP arena.

"Let's fight each other!"

"No thanks." I reject his eager challenge. I don't want to pummel my friend to the ground.

"How about you, Systema?"

"Why don't we join this tournament?" The System points to a digital screen. It says, [The Rookie Tournament in Otherworld High starts today! After school at 5:00 pm, the first match begins! Sign up now!]

"Sure! It sounds fun," Asidus agrees. We all go to sign up at the sheet. A long line has formed, so we have to wait. By the time we got to the front, there was only three minutes left in the period. That's not enough time to fight.

'Actually, that's more than enough time for me and the System to beat you up ten times each.' I inwardly thought.

//////////

We arrive at the cafeteria. The seats were filled. People chatted with each other loudly.

There was no line to get food. Instead, you order food from your panels. The food appears in front of you.

I order while Asidus orders The System orders everything.

"Are you sure you can eat all that?" Asidus asks in surprise when he sees the mountain of food the System has ordered.

"Yup!" The System answers happily. It digs in and shovels one portion of food after another into its mouth.

"He eats a lot." I answer to Asidus' unasked question.

"I can see that." Asidus stares at the System like he was watching an anime. He absentmindedly pops a sushi into his mouth.

//////////

After lunch, we have Monster Hunting. There's also the teacher the System hired...

The class meeting place is in a monster area. We enter the area for level 20 green ants. Why the ants are green, I don't know.

Moat students already are at the meeting place. The teacher sits on a chair she pulled out from her inventory. She looks our age, but I know that's a lie. She's probably thousands of years old but changed her avatar. Did the System tell all its friends to be teenagers?

You could only tell that she is the teacher because of the the glowing label above her head that says

Some boys are ogling her because she looks like a stunning beauty. That's probably because she can change her appearance at will and went with a gorgeous one. She doesn't seem to be that defendant on looks, since she could've made herself so beautiful even girls would fall in love with her.

She has long brown hair and emerald eyes. She wears a long orange robe that touches the ground.

A student enters after us. At this, the teacher stands up. She doesn't need to grab anyone's attention as she already as it.

"Hello class, my name is Elodie Agrean. You can call me Ms. Agrean."

The boys only noticed that she said "Ms."

A bold boy asked her, "You're not married right? Then please be my girlfriend!"

Silence. "No thanks." Elodie rejected without hesitation. After all, she is at least a thousand years old. Why would she want a baby as her boyfriend?

The boys didn't look discouraged. That was expected. Elodie is a teacher, despite "being" their age.

'I'm just going to sit here quietly and hope class will be over.' I don't need lessons on monster hunting. I already know all the monsters' attack patterns.

"On to the lesson. First of all, what do you know about hunting monsters?"

A girl raises her hand. "Yes?"

"You should make sure you're higher leveled than them to avoid getting killed!"

"Correct. If you die, then what's the point of traveling all the way to the area? If you're at some place you only found by chance, then if you die, you can never go back. That's why survival is key. However, if you ever face a higher leveled monster, then this is what you should do."

She then leads the class to an ant hill. "I will now demonstrate how a level 15 can win against an unevolved level 20." Elodie sends out a level 15 character. He's a quest character you can get from completing one of the starter quests.

The character sneaks up to a single green ant that's fairly far away from the rest of the ants. He then launches a skill right off the bat. As a Evolution Phase One, he only has his basic skill.

After he uses his basic skills that chips away a eighth of the ant's health, the character begins attacking with his sword. The ant nibbles at him with its mouth and brandishes its claws. Honestly, it looks like a kid playing with a small puppy. The damages are so low. Even the ant's skill where it smacks the character with its tail does 23 damage. The character has 1,000 HP.

The battle lasts a super long time. Half the period is gone before the green ant is finally dead. After using a mixture of hit-and-runs and skills, the level 15 character slayed the green ant with 41 HP remaining. Other students in class take notes (some just draw Elodie) but I don't. Neither does the System. We don't need notes when the System can just blink its enemy out of existence and I have its protection.

Elodie then tells the class to try that ourselves. If we die, we will spawn back at the meeting place. We would go back after class is over. Elodie would watch us from the meeting place.

Thankfully, Elodie seems normal. She only gave me a nod when no one was looking. Instead of moving into my dorm and impersonating as a student like a certain something...

Asidus, the System and I split up. With only Elodie watching, I can do whatever I want. Elodie already knows about my level after all.

Elodie gave us the assignment to kill five green ants, using whatever means necessary. That includes killstealing, so people might get into fights. However, no one is allowed to kill anyone. That would be murder.

I quickly kill five ants in one fell swoop. I don't even summon anyone. I do make sure no traces of my attack are left though.

Now what? Oh right, I never did get around to allotting my stat points. Let's see, what do I need?

My crit rate and damage are already high, so I don't need to waste my stat points there. My damage output is in the green as well. I have high defense and 100,000 HP. I'm good there.

So all that's left is stamina. It's only at the base, after all I'm a shut-in who only plays games all night. I input 200 stat points into stamina. I'll save the rest. I'm not getting any more points any time soon, so it's better to save them.

I guess I'll just game for the rest of the period. I whip out a swivel chair and spin around while gaming.

//////////

After class is over, Elodie gives us a goodbye and ends class. Some boys try to pick her up, but fail miserably. What is this, a novel?

Asidus joins up with the System and I. "We have loot collecting next! Do you think the teacher will tell me where silverweed is?"

"Sure they will!" The System says as it sends a message to our next teacher.

Loot Collecting meets at the area for level 60 treants. That's dangerous for most students, as some haven't even passed the second Evolution Phase.

We enter to see yet another forest. The teacher this time is not here yet. That's strange, what about the class before this one?

'There was no Loot Collecting class before this period,' the System said to me. 'I think he got held up. I'll contact him.'

A second later, the System got a response. High level beings send messages quick. The System immediately teleported away.

'What happened?' I ask. Is its friend in danger?

'Raeon got the '
