Years ago before the war broke out, a war that was so ruthless it caused us to do things we never have imagined doing. When the war broke out I was in my country's Navy. I was proud to serve my country. I would have done anything to protect my country and the people. I lived and served in the United States of America. I was the leader of my unit of Navy Seals, the best the country had to offer. When the war broke out, it was called the freedom war I was station in Virginia. I recently returned from a tour oversees. I was happy to be back home. I was having a good time with my close friends on the team when I got the call. I nor my team did not know what was going on until we got the call to head north to New York. At first I thought me and my team were going to protect the people, but that wasn't the case. We were going to be fighting them. when me and my team arrived in New York I heard my mother Katherine Sullivan speaking to us about how our rallied against the government that protected them, fed them, and sheltered them, now we must defend ourselves, and protect what we built. That's when I realized me, my team, and every single person standing here had to kill the very people we swore on the Bible to protect. How can my mother and our leaders ask us to do such a thing? We had no choice but to obey our leaders.
Me and my team went to war against our brothers and sisters. We killed them, everyone of them. Every time I went to fight against my people I lost my humanity, my soul until I broke down and couldn't take it anymore. During the final days of the war we were winning and that's when it happen. My mother ended the war her way. I was looking at my team and I could see they were losing not the war but themselves. What could I do as a leader to help my team survive? That's when I realized I had to get my team out of the fight, but I had to wait until the war was over to get them out, to get them away from my mother's ruthless grasp.
The war had finally ended. We won at the cost of so many lives. I was sadden that the country I love is gone. Many people have died by my hands. My team escaped back to their home broken men inside and out. I saw the way my mother changed my once beloved country and I wanted no part of it, but I had no choice I was a prisoner of the new Republic. I never saw my team again. I finally manage to escape the Republic and my mother. After the war no one knew what happen to me. They thought I died. My mother was too clever, she knew I survived. I kept what happen to me a secret for ten years until I got the call to return to the Republic. My name is Matt Sullivan and this is my story of how I became a rebel leader.
