"She's suspicious."
Landon looks up from his phone, his eyebrow raised. "Who?"
"That girl. I ran a background check on her." The hologram of the woman talking to him folds her arms, her brows furrowed. "A dozen Pearl Hawthornes came up in my search. None of them looked like her."
Landon laughs. "I know. I'm aware."
"You're aware?"
"Of course, I'm aware. Even Father is aware."
The woman's eyes widen. "And he has done nothing about it?"
"Mother loves her," he responds with a shrug. "And we both know that Father will agree with whatever she says or does."
"That's pathetic!"
"Chill out, Eva," Landon tells her. "He's got her under surveillance. She can't do anything stupid."
"Mother told me she's with Rehan now," the woman- his sister Eva- spits. "And you're saying that she can't do anything stupid?"
