Chereads / The adventures of the other Nephilim / Chapter 9 - The second Alexander the great

Chapter 9 - The second Alexander the great

The year is around 316 B.C.

A lot has happened the last 18 years.

Alexander the great conquered the known world, and then Alexander died.

His empire split between his generals.

It was also around this time that the oracle of delphi prophesied that another shall become king of Alexander's great empire.

The oracle was of course talking about the son of Achilles, Neoptolemos.

Neoptolemos was now 18 years old and had a lust for adventure.

Neoptolemos now wields his father's shield, but Neoptolemos did not wield the spear that once belonged to his father.

Neoptolemos instead wields the spear of Hector, his father's former rival.

When asked why Neoptolemos wields the spear that once belonged to his father's most hated enemy, Neoptolemos simply responded with

" It is true that my father hated Hector with every fiber of his being, but, I can not help but think that even my father had some respect for Hector "

And like his father, Neoptolemos also rides in a chariot.

The chariot is pulled by four immortal cattle from the Augean Stables.

Now let us talk a little about Uri and Khutulun.

Uri now wields the flaming sword of Kinich Ahau.

Khutulun on the other hand does not wield a legendary weapon.

All Khutulun had to say on the matter was

" I will make my own damn weapons legendary "

Her weapons include a bow, sword and spear.

It is also worthy to note that Khutulun has become a master at hand to hand combat.

Now for some sad news.

Diogenes has sadly died.

Before Diogenes left with Thanatos, he had some last words for Uri;

" Don't ever let anything stand in the way of the light "

With tears in his eyes, Uri nodded.

" Attaboy " said Diogenes as he was gentle rubbing Uri's cheeck and then his last breath left him.

He died in the year 323 B.C.

Diogenes was buried at Pydna near the Oikos.

His grave is placed so that it overlooks the sun.

On Diogenes' grave is written

" ΖΗΣΕ τη ζωη στο επακρο "

(Translation: Live life to the fullest)

Uri, Khutulun, Neoptolemos, Laonome, Philotes and Eos, all of them made sure that Diogenes became the 8th sage of Greece.

After the death of both Diogenes and Alexander the great, who both oddly enough died the same year.

Neoptolemos went to each of Alexander's former generals.

From Cassander, Ptolemy, Antigonus and Seleucus, to name a few.

Neoptolemos went to all the generals and asked them to let him (Neoptolemos) become their new King.

All of Alexander's generals were rather fast to make Neoptolemos their new King, especially after they heard that Neoptolemos is the son of Achilles.

It took some time but with the help of his friends, by the year 316 B.C.

Neoptolemos became the new King of Alexander the great's empire.

And the first order of business was to pick up where Alexander left off.

It was now time to travel to India.

Before we begin.

I want to say that Apollo is still busy having a music battle with Pan.

Now, back to the adventure.

With King Neoptolemos with his friends and army heading towards India which is currently under the rule of Chandragupta Maurya.

To India!

Our location is around/near the Indus River.

King Neoptolemos, his friends and his army is currently very close to India.

" Hey, Adelfós, how are we doing so far? " said King Neoptolemos while riding in his chariot.

Uri, who was on a horse next to him said

" The army is keeping up and none of the soldiers seem to be tired. So I would say that we are doing great "

" Yeah, but I bet that these soldier can barely fight, I mean just look at them " said Khutulun while riding on a horse next to King Neoptolemos.

" Come now sister, these soldiers were capable of taking down the Persian empire, so they do deserve some credit " said King Neoptolemos.

" First off, how many times have I told you to, not call me sister, call me Khutulun, and second, all I am saying is, that I could easily wrestle all of them and win " said Khutulun.

" I don't doubt that, but I am their King, so I ask, Khutulun, please don't break my soldiers " said King Neoptolemos with a smile.

Khutulun smiled back and said

" No promises "

All Uri did was smile.

One of King Neoptolemos generals rode up to the front.

" My king, I have news, it seems that Chandragupta Maurya and his army is gathered at the border to India " said Ptolemy.

" Is that so, well, that is to be expected " said King Neoptolemos.

" What now? " said Uri.

" Do not worry my dear Adelfós, we shall meet the enemy head on! " said King Neoptolemos.

King Neoptolemos then rode fast ahead which forced his soldiers to run after their king.

After a while.

King Neoptolemos and his army was now face to face with Chandragupta Maurya and his army.

Both armies were massive in size, and both armies had legendary Kings leading them.

Chandragupta Maurya started to ride towards the middle of the battlefield.

" It seems that he wants to talk " said Khutulun.

" Neoptolemos… " said Uri.

" Adelfós, what did I say before, do not worry, I got this " said King Neoptolemos with a smile.

Uri felt a warmth coming from his brother.

King Neoptolemos now rode towards Chandragupta Maurya in his chariot.

After a couple of seconds, the two kings met face to face on the middle of the battlefield.

" I am Neoptolemus, son of the great hero, Achilles and King of the army before you "

" I am Chandragupta Maurya, Sandrokoptos, and I am proud to be King of this army before you "

King Neoptolemos smiled.

" Is there something amusing? " said Chandragupta Maurya.

" No, or yes, it is just that, I have been waiting a long time for this day " said King Neoptolemos.

" By that, I take it, that you are not willing to take your army out of my country " said Chandragupta Maurya.

" Afraid not, like I said, I have been waiting a long time for this day " said King Neoptolemos.

" I see, then there is nothing left to be said " said Chandragupta Maurya.

Each King now returned to their armies.

" Are you ready? " said Uri.

" Hell yeah, Adelfós " said King Neoptolemos with a smile.

King Neoptolemos now raised his spear up towards the sky.

" My fellow greeks, my φίλοι του βασιλιά (translation: friends of the King) We shall this day embark on the greatest adventure to date. Now, are you all with me! " said King Neoptolemos.

All of King Neoptolemos friends, generals and soldiers cheered with their King.

Chandragupta Maurya raised his sword up towards the sky, Chandragupta Maurya then said

" My beloved warriors, let us not this day fall, and let us not let our beloved country fall into the hands of these men, for India! "

Chandragupta Maurya's soldiers cheered with their King.

There were no more words left to be said.

All that was left, was the battle.

The two armies now charged straight towards each other.

After a few seconds, the two armies met on the battlefield.

The battle was not long, but that does not mean that the soldiers did not fight hard.

Each warrior fought with honor and skill, but in the end, it was King Neoptolemos and his friends that became victories.

King Neoptolemos was standing over Chandragupta Maurya, King Neoptolemos was holding the tip of his spear at Chandragupta Maurya neck.

" What are you waiting for? Do it! " said Chandragupta Maurya.

King Neoptolemos just looked at Chandragupta Maurya, as was everyone else.

King Neoptolemos however lowered his spear and helped Chandragupta Maurya back up on his feet.

Chandragupta Maurya just looked at King Neoptolemos.

" Why? " said Chandragupta Maurya.

" For it was Alexander the great who conquered, I however, wish to make alliances " said King Neoptolemos with a smile.

" And you don't think that we could have made an alliance without the war? " said Chandragupta Maurya.

" Well, I had to show my soldiers, how strong their King is " said King Neoptolemos.

Chandragupta Maurya just looked at King Neoptolemos.

" So what now? " said Chandragupta Maurya.

" Now, me and my army return to our homes, but rest assured that if you are ever in need, then simply ask and I shall come with my friends " said King Neoptolemos with a smile.

" Well in that case, I shall retire from warfare and follow the path of enlightenment, but as you said, if you are ever in need, then simply call and we shall come " said Chandragupta Maurya with a smile.

The two kings shook hands and then all of them returned home.

King Neoptolemos, Uri and Khutulun all three returned back to their Oikos where Laonome, Philotes and Eos had prepared a feast for them.

King Neoptolemos, Uri and Khutulun remained in the Oikos and all three awaited their next adventure.
