Crap. Bianca couldn't help but curse at her current situation. She expected to take a nap after classes in the solitude of her room, away from those scary magic users as usual; but not even ten minutes had passed before a girly crying voice interrupted the silence, coming from the entrance door until it reached the bed beneath hers.
"BUAHHH!"
Judging by the location of the noise, the crying girl must be Sabrina: the roommate Bianca hated the least. A couple of days ago, the relationship between her roommates turned a little hostile, Nicole even mocked her (Sabrina) calling her "bitchy witchy" and other ridiculing, rhythmical names while laughing as if it didn't mean anything.
Bianca didn't know all the details of their drama, and even though she was a bit curious, the fear of getting caught in it was greater. Weren't they supposed to be friends? what kind of friend treated the other as if hurting them and making them cry was the greatest hobby? The hybrid would rather be friendless the rest of her life then.
"UHH! UUUAHHH!"
The witch's been crying for a long time now and Bianca's bladder was begging her for release. Problem was, to reach the bathroom, she'd have to climb down just in front of Sabrina so ignoring her was going to be even more difficult. That's why the girl decided to 'spy' the witch and go to the toilet when she's distracted, but she (Bianca) almost lost her breath when Sabrina quickly caught her glance.
"H-h-have you always b-been there?" Sabrina asked her hoarsely.
CRAP-CRAP-CRAP-CRAP.
Why did she have to look downwards!?
"Y-yeah. But don't worry, I'll leave you alone..."
Bianca rushed to climb down her bed, thinking about abandoning the room immediately, but a trembling voice stopped her before she reached the floor.
"I-It doesn't matter. You can stay if you want".
The vulnerability and delicacy in the witch's voice made Bianca know that her (Sabrina's) problem was worse than she had thought. The girl reached the floor and quietly went to the bathroom, finally relieving her bladder, her mind finally freed from 'peeing' thoughts and ready to plan how to proceed next. After she washed her hands, she stood there trying to decide if she should listen to Sabrina and go back to her bed as if nothing had happened, or if she should just run away from the awkward situation.
"I'd rather you'd stay here" Sabrina confessed, as if she read the other's mind.
Like an obedient dog, Bianca quickly went to her bed but still paid attention to the witch cautiously. Her behavior was very suspicious.
"I bet you already know- everyone knows..."
"K-know what?" Bianca asked dubiously.
"About how I'm an easy girl, and a puttana, and..."
The hell's a puttana, what's that gibberish? Bianca thought.
"Uh? I don't know anything about that".
"How come? It's been like the talk of the week".
"I don't live by the gossip of mons... of magic users".
Bianca spat out her last words without giving them much thought, but they made Sabrina feel a bit better. She had finally stopped crying, and reached an arm towards her nightstand to look for a handkerchief to blow her snotty nose.
"You're right! How old are you again? You're very mature" Sabrina complimented.
It was the first time the witch (or any witch) talked to her so much, and with such kind words. Bianca was getting more and more weirded out by her, expecting her to act as if the other didn't exist like usual but to no avail.
"This happened because I was dating a guy in 10th grade: his name's Piero, you know him?"
Bianca barely knew a couple of names from her classroom, much less the names from other classes. And why was the witch telling her this anyway?
"No idea".
"Wow, you really seem out of place, you know?"
Not her fault her only choice of socializing are all monsters or monster-related, Bianca thought. Besides, no one seemed to like her either. After an uncomfortable silence, Sabrina took it as an invitation to keep talking, despite Bianca wanting her to shut up already. This kind of talk was between friends; not between a bully and her victim.
"Well... he's- was very funny and handsome and seemed very interested in me and my likes. He… he told me he loved me! ..."
Bianca suppressed her urge to roll her eyes, refusing to give the witch the possibility of catching her doing the offensive gesture. Men, especially (stupid) teenagers, only said that sh*t when they wanted s*x: it was simple, common knowledge.
"I was so stupid! He and I... he and I did some nasty things..."
BLERGH!
DISGUSTING!
Both girls clearly knew what that meant, and felt embarrassed. Bianca definitely didn't need to know that. Sabrina then cleared her voice, pretending she didn't just confess something intimate to a practical, almost germaphobe stranger.
"He tossed me aside after that and went around telling his friends how much of a... of a disappointment I was".
Bianca was surprised: not because of how events turned out (the witch brought this on herself for being stupid), but for the lingering pity she felt for the girl. It was so tiny the hybrid almost didn't notice, but it was still there.
"Sorry to hear that" Bianca honestly said.
Sabrina was pleasantly surprised. Not even her supposedly 'friends' were as compassionate with her as this hybrid, to whom she started to also feel sorry for. If the witch knew the other was in reality a good person, she would've made more of an effort to be a better roommate... maybe even a friend?
No, too soon for that!
Meanwhile, Bianca realized this f*ckboy Sabrina mentioned, Peter or Pedro (whatever-his-name is) not only could have spread some rumors but also something else. Her face instantly twisted in disgust, not wanting to 'catch' whatever it is, especially since they were roommates and shared a common bathroom.
Ew!
"What is it?" A confused, slightly alarmed Sabrina asked her.
What, did she say that out loud? Sh*t.
"H-h-haven't you thought of getting a medical check-up, just in case?" Bianca blurted out, not sure of what she was saying.
"Uh? A medical check-up? For what?"
What if she beat her for insinuating something weird? Bianca almost shuddered. She then tried to elaborate on with as much delicacy as possible, seeing that there wasn't a way out to this.
"W-w-well, men tend to be reckless most of the time and this boy you talked about may be also. What if he had an STD or something?"
"A what?" She replied in an air-headed voice.
Seriously? How could someone have s*x without even knowing what STD meant? I swear this youth nowadays is getting worse, for god's sake! Bianca thought, forgetting she was included into that same age group. She then proceeded to explain to the witch (very awkwardly, by the way) what the previous acronym meant, to which Sabrina reacted equally as awkward and disgusted as her.
