Chapter 32 - [32] Rumors and Lies (again)

Bianca had heard, maybe on her Literature Class back home or in some movie she couldn't recall, that 'the path to hell is built on good intentions' and she fiercely agreed to it. Just because of some slightly kind words thrown around out of pity, the hybrid was (again) involved in some stupid rumor created by stupid, evil people who craved for other's suffering.

"Don't get too close to me!"

"The f*ck's wrong with you!?"

"You're the hybrid's classmate" the girl said stupidly, as if it was a well-developed explanation for her avoidant attitude.

God, how immense was her hatred towards everyone at this school.

"So what? Scared I catch her 'hybridness' by-by osmosis or?"

"Uh? By what? Stop talking nonsense for once"

"Then what about the hybrid?" the very-human boy prompted, still confused.

Her hate was so unmeasurable that no scale was able to quantify it and no remedy was able to improve her mood; not even her human classmates were spared.

"That thing everyone is saying about her? I mean, yucks!"

"What thing? I don't really know!"

"She's rotten with herpes"

"HERPES!?"

"Ssshhhh!"

Apparently, Bianca had freaking herpes and she contracted it by 'playing around' with that Pedro or Peter from 10th grade who had dumped Sabrina. I mean, seriously? She didn't even know the guy.

"But-t-t wouldn't she smell like, rotten fish down there? I haven't smelled anything weird when I pass by her side".

How sweet of him! If only she could find another human guy who didn't think she smelled like rotten fish… Bianca wanted to roll her eyes. Guys, no matter their species, were all mysterious creatures with a complex thought process no one has discovered yet. Were they idiotic, pretended to be, or it was just a phase?

And speaking of boys, Bianca's closest-thing-to-a-friend (Dereck) walked up to her with some worry, but also a bit of curiosity, on his face.

"Eh-hem… I-I don't want to sound offensive but…" He started asking her quite timidly, offending her already "There's no way those rumors are true, are they?"

"Nope" She dead-panned replied.

She was about to spit "wanna check it out by yourself?" out of impatience, but quickly changed her mind. That wouldn't help to solve this ridiculous imaginary everyone had of her being promiscuous, for God's sake! She was a damn virgin, just one step away from a convent. Therefore, she elaborated on what really happened to Dereck, and consequently, to Peyton.

This happened because lousy-mouthed Sabrina argued with her friends, telling them her 'ex' was more probably than not a diseased liar and from then on everything spiraled out of control. Her supposed friends then confronted her about that affirmation, and Sabrina ended up telling them what Bianca had told her.

At what point did those 'friends' twist the truth so much? No one was sure, but the hybrid still blamed Sabrina the most. The witch, in an obvious state of guilt and repentance, tried to explain her side of the story and unclear the rumors but it was futile. Not even Bianca wanted to hear anything from her.

In Bianca's mind, Sabrina had done all of this to purposely harm her. To put all of the bad attention on the other so people would forget about her own stupid mess with Pedro. Unfortunately, (but quite unexpectedly) only Alexander didn't believe any of it from the start. As usual, he had been looking for her after classes, but at that time he wasn't alone.

"No offence to you but…" Taylor, his idiotic friend said offensively "you're sure-sure you don't have that? I-I mean; people say things for a reason"

Before Bianca could explain herself to this retarded donkey, Alexander made a valuable input:

"No way she's a f*cking wh*re, I've known her since… since always. Besides, why would a warlock boy pick her over some sexier, funnier, more mature sexy witch?"

A punch to her self-esteem but he's got a point. She had mixed feelings for it, a linger of warmth in her gloomy heart but also some weird urge to hardly slap his flabby belly. Everything was more-or-less fine until Travis added:

"What if- what if you punch yourself down there? Just to be sure"

"What for?" A disturbed Alexander questioned him.

Taylor and Bianca were even more disturbed than Alexander. Then Travis had to elaborate on:

"W-well, if she punches herself down there and it doesn't hurt, then she´s fineeee. Oh, wait! Someone else has to punch her 'cause a self-punch doesn't hurt"

"Really? A self-punch never hurt?" A very-curious Taylor asked.

Then the three boys, under Bianca's incredulous gaze, started punching themselves while competing for who had the strongest self-punch. At some point they also tried to punch each other, catching the attention of passerby students and an angry-looking teacher that was already walking towards them. Bianca rushed to run away from the scene.

But despite clearing the situation with Dereck, Peyton and Alexander's group, the rumors kept almost everyone else ostracizing Bianca even more than before. Particularly in 'Fighting Concepts' class, her assigned combat partners had whined to the teacher about partnering up with her and, after being ignored, reluctantly touched the girl. It would've been fine if not for the disgusted looks they gave her (which she was too self-conscious about), and the mocking gags some threw at her followed by ridiculing laughter, which hurt a lot.

Telling a teacher wouldn't solve anything, and she didn't want to worry her grandma with high school drama.

Then things worsened when Nicole, her roommate, forced Bianca to put all of her stuff on a 'quarantined' corner of the room so the other's stuff wasn't 'infected'. With a disgusted expression, the witch even refused to mix her dirty clothes with the hybrid's, causing the room to look messy and therefore putting Nicole on a bad mood. Shortly after, she started to physically attack Bianca, slapping and pushing her out of frustration if given the chance.

Despite Sabrina's less-than-useful interventions to defend Bianca, Nicole also screamed at and ridiculed the other, shutting her up instantly. The atmosphere among the three became pretty hostile and suffocating. A couple of days later even Dereck and Alexander were involved in the mess by being accused of having herpes, just because they kept talking to Bianca normally unlike the rest. Only then teachers and Principal Lowe intervened, doing tests on the involved students to prove their innocence.

After tests came out negative, and Bianca again donated her still-proved-to-be pure blood for the Blood Of The Innocent in exchange for final grade's extra-points, people strongly dismissed the rumors. Things weren't much different from before, but at least no one looked at her with disgust anymore and Nicole went back to her previous ignoring-the-hybrid self.

"It was like absurd anyway" Nicole had said about the rumor to her witch friends "as if such an ugly b*tch (Bianca) could attract something other than sh*t worms"

No one thought about apologizing or punishing the bullies either, not surprising Bianca.
