Chapter 25 - [25] Brother's Lawyer

From that first time eating breakfast with Bianca, Alexander started inviting her to eat in the 'Home Economics' classroom often, and even accompanied her to eat on the cafeteria sometimes.

For the girl, this behavior of his was weird especially considering he had been ignoring her not too long ago, but she attributed it to him not wanting to be alone. Now that his friends were away because of summer vacation, Alexander didn't have too many options of people left to hang out with, so he settled for her.

Bianca didn't mind too much because she could get a free, delicious meal out of this; besides, Alexander actually was a decent talker when his friends weren't around. She had learned he liked to cook a lot, and was good at it; his brother only agreed to buy him groceries because Alexander promised to make him pancakes once in a while.

"He loves pancakes" Alexander told her "With very little honey, because he says it makes him fat".

The guy had laughed at his own comment, while Bianca only frowned. It was difficult to find amusement in such a terrifying warlock, especially because she didn't like magic users at all. Not even Dereck was an exception: she still refused to recognize him as a friend despite him helping her so many times.

At noticing Bianca's lack of response to his comment, Alexander stopped laughing abruptly but still kept half smiling anyway.

"You both need to reconcile, it's not good to keep a grudge for too long".

'Keep a grudge' he says!? Would he say the same if he was in her shoes? He didn't understand a thing so he was the least indicated to speak about this matter. In fact, because of him and his stupid, blabbing mouth she was in trouble to begin with.

"You can't talk about something you don't know" Bianca spat at him.

"Yes, I can. He's my brother, and you're my... my..."

She sighed and almost rolled her eyes; they were 'nothing' to each other, now that she thought about it. Maybe they used to be friends a couple of years ago, before he moved away, but the past it's in the past. To avoid the sudden awkwardness, Bianca stood up with her tray of food and moved to another table silently, not wanting to be with Alexander anymore.

The boy just kept looking at her, perplexed.

Anyways, from then on he didn't go to bother her anymore. Bianca started longing for some company, but reminded herself being alone was a lot better than settling for certain idiot (who was practically a stranger to her). At least it was summer, so she could spend most of her time outside sleeping or taking photos, the countryside giving her many chances to. Nature and peace lovers would love this place.

A couple of days later, teachers organized a trip to a traditional fair in one of the towns; some of them were even wearing Swiss folk dresses, which almost made Bianca laugh. It was strangely funny to watch. As there were very few students, teachers also gave them the option to accompany them to said fair (with their parents' authorization of course) and almost all of them went.

Bianca was amused the whole time. Even tough Swiss music was exasperating, people's attires and curious dances (which seemed more like a child's play) caught her attention. This was a paradise for the girl, having so many opportunities to take photos with her camera: but what finally made her more entertained were the little children in their cute traditional attires, dancing happily.

It almost made her happy too.

The only downside was... the evil twins were also there. Why Maximilian was there? She didn't know, but the guy has only nodded towards her as a greeting and from then on has been ignoring her, keeping his distance. At the moment, his focus was entirely on some couples dancing and giving each other looks of love; he felt a little envious, and weirdly irritated.

Bianca was still cautious of him, but the fact that he wouldn't dare to hurt her in front of so many people gave her a little reassurance. Besides, she was distracted by the little kids and taking photos.

Meanwhile, Alexander was bored out of his mind. He had thought he'd find pretty, Swiss girls, but most of them were too old or too young for his liking: and their uncool dresses also didn't help. There were also a few tourists on the fair, but no one caught his attention. Ah! why did he have to take summer classes!? He could be right now at home playing video games, or riding his skateboard. Damn.

Most of the videogames at school were multi-player so he couldn't even play them. He didn't have anyone to play with. His only acquaintances right now were his brother, who hated videogames and was a pain-in-the-ass to be with, and Bianca; but she was a girl, so she was instantly discarded.

Bianca then asked some friendly strangers to take her photos with the beautiful scenery behind her. This was one of the few moments worth to remember from her stay in Switzerland. Later on, she'd also realize a very important person to her was caught in one of the photos.
