"So tell me, Maximilian. What were you thinking just before attacking your classmate?" a crappy psychologist asked.
"I thought she was a b*tch" He replied in a "duh" tone.
As promised, Maximilian attended this farce of a 'Coping with emotions' course. Luckily no one else, apart from this psychologist, was there because he wouldn't tolerate any teasing from anyone. He was on a 'killing' mood.
"Uh... I wasn't talking about that. I want to know, what do you think was the trigger that made you act aggressively?"
"Her calling me a wh*re?"
He wasn't going to put up with this psychological crap.
"Are you?"
"Of course not, you f*cking...!"
Maximilian suddenly stopped his menacing stance at noticing the psychologist's curious gaze. As if he had discovered something interesting and tried to figure it out.
"Your overreaction lets me think that 'wh*re' is a particular sensible insult for you. Why? Have you been ridiculed by that term before?"
The boy sighed and replied with 'no'.
"What's being a "wh*re" to you?"
"Mmh... is... someone that doesn't respect his body".
"I don't understand, what is disrespect to one's body?"
Maximilian stood pensive, then blushed slightly. His sudden vulnerable, innocent look took the other man by surprise.
"You know... doing perverted stuff with people who are not your partner".
"Like a girlfriend or a wife?"
"Yes. A-also if you have many partners, or you're with them just for money or power; it's disrespectful".
What a strange boy, the psychologist couldn't help but think.
Their private session hour ended soon, and Maximilian left the office relaxed. It was better than he had thought. The psychologist had taught him some techniques to improve his aggressive behavior, and pretty soon he saw its results.
When this ass-kisser of a classmate (David) went saying his (Maximilian's) stress for "lacking a woman" didn't justify his savagery, he only threw a whiteboard eraser at his head. Any other day, he would've thrown the idiot out of the window instead; but because he was doing his relaxation exercises, he reacted "calmly".
"Congratulations, it's a big improvement" Jesse told him while sipping on his tea.
"Really?" Maximilian asked, looking for reassurance.
"Of course!"
"But... won't I look weak?"
Jesse took another elegant sip of his tea before answering.
"No. Being a fighter doesn't mean attacking every time you're provoked, but choosing what's worth fighting for".
His friend was right. If he fought everyone at the slightest provocation, he wouldn't be any different to a vicious animal. Despite knowing that, some people still were trying to test his limits.
He and Jesse were, once again, invited by Emilio to a guy's night. He had grown accustomed to most of the other warlocks' presence, except for certain someone who couldn't get over his stupid engagement.
"... obviously the marriage date has to be arranged after we graduate, but I don't see the big deal in discussing it now" Stupid David said.
"Why? You feel so insecure about your fiancé?"
"No, no! How could I? After she gave me this beautiful ring".
Then he showed his expensive-looking engagement ring with a diamond bigger than his assh*le. Who the hell invited this dumb*ss anyway? Maximilian then decided to take a bite of his fat-free pretzel, and mute (in his head) the idiot.
"... Maximilian? Maximilian!? Are you listening?" David complained.
"I was ignoring you, sorry" He replied.
Emilio, Jesse and a few other guys snickered at his response, but David grew offended.
"I thought this was a 'guy's night'" Maximilian continued "Not a girly gossip committee".
Everyone full-on laughed, except for David. He suddenly showed amusement on his face, which confused Maximilian.
"Oh, I know what's happening. You've always been alone, don't you?"
He better shut up.
"I bet the only woman who's ever loved you is your mother".
There's still time, shut the f*ck up now.
"With this character of yours you'll never get married".
Jesse grabbed his angry friend by his arm, keeping him still.
"You don't know that" Emilio interjected "He has received a lot of love confessions; witches want him".
Hearing about these 'love confessions' only made him enrage more. None of those girls really wanted him; he was just a convenient business partner. Meanwhile, David forced a laugh at Emilio's words, and looked at Maximilian with pity.
"But he rejects them all, maybe because even he knows they don't really love him. At this rate you'll die alone..."
Jesse couldn't hold onto his friend anymore, and Maximilian threw a kick towards David's chest, pushing him against the floor. The guy groaned in pain as the other warlocks took a hold onto a furious Maximilian.
"Being engaged doesn't give you the right to be a b*tch" Jesse spat at David.
"I just told him the truth" He said, before gasping and rubbing his chest "Not my fault he's hurt by it".
Jesse whispered to his friend to do one of his 'relaxing exercises' to calm down, but this was too much. Something on his chest was burning inside him, numbing his reasoning, and it wasn't only rage like other times.
Was this sadness?
