Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

The wistle blew; cue that the game have started. The ball goes in the other side of the court. Then we run to our designated numbers. Mine is 16. A tall guy, maybe about the same height as me: 6'2, blond sparkly hair, a cute looking teenager but not as cute as Ollie.

We collide our bodies pushing ourselves trying to block each other to get a past and a cleary view of who holds the ball; right now it's their team. The Warlords, a school campus from the other side of the town.

The referee blew his whistle signalling a foul play. He move his hand in a circular motion showing that the player who held the ball carried it in more than two steps. Broodi who was guarding him run just outside the line, then the referee blew his wistle yet again. Now it might be a game changer; the ball is in our hands.

Broodi run quickly towards the ring while dribbling the ball carefully, guarding it as if his life depends on it. I move to the line where a 3-point shot is made. Broodi who is now got the gist, run past as swiftly as he could and passed the ball to me. I smile. My world stops. Every fibers in me seems to become alive. Heart estatic, the crowd and cheering around me disappears. I take a deep breath then I lunge to the air. Body almost light as a feather, I released the ball from my hands knowing that it will go straight to the ring.

The crowd boomed in the arena. I feel my blood run through me like a train. I look at a specific crowd and smile widely, feeling proud.

"Nice jump." Broodi says.

"Nice pass." I say.

The captain hit my back, then we run again in the other side of the court. The game continues leaving me estatic through out the game. I freaking love basketball. I wouldn't exchange it for anything in the world. I would always chose it. World League; here I come.

As expected of the outcome. We won. But it was a close score, we win nonetheless.

I bring Ollie at the centre of the court and asked Mom to take us a picture together for a sovenier. It's Ollie very first game in the town except that one game at the school. I grab his waist and pull him towards me, towering his height. His arms wrap around my body.

"1, 2, 3, say smile." Mom says.

So we smiled, the flash comes through. We walk back to her and see the picture she just took. I smile at the product. I'm going to develop it when we get back and give one to Ollie. I might put it on a picture frame or something.

Then suddenly out of nothing, like a ball moving fast pace. Ollie who's curently admiring me as if I'm some celebrity or something; I officially fell in love with the transferee kid. I clutch my chest, "Are you okay?" he asks, full of concern on his orbs.

"Yeah." I say and grab him, caging his small body. He nods inside my arms.

"You stink." he says, laughing while pinching his nose.

I pull him and encloses his head with my jersey. "Eewww. Get away from me!" he says, pushing me off. I laugh out loud but I didn't remove him from my grip. He remove my shirt and kiss me on my cheeks, "Congratulations!" he says.

Jensen suddenly came out from nowhere interrupting us. He shoot me a smirk and I club his shoulders.

"Stop, stop!" he protests, but chuckling regardless the way I handled him.

"Remove your hands now Rafael before you choke the kid to death." Mom says, coming to his rescue.

"Rude." Jensen says.

"Sissy." I say, smirking.

"This calls for a celebratory!" he says, nodding to us.

"Yeah, shall we drink some beers later?" I ask.

"We shall." he says.

"Boys, I'm still here." Mom says, looking serious but a hint of agreement.

We take a quick group photo with the team, the throphy at the centre. After some congratulatory regards and whacking of some heads and butts, we part ways.

We walk to my car. Ollie on the passenger side, Broodi and Alen at the back seat. We drive to Jensen's place for a small victory party.

● ● ●

I pull my car to his spacious driveway and walk out. The others copies me and we walk inside.

Jensen made some space on his living room and placed a bucket of beers on the table. I knew Ollie doesn't drink beers or any of that kind so I requested Jensen a coke earlier. Him and Lucas met once again, the two chatting happily in their own corners, a cup of cokes on their hands.

The party starts, loud music blaring from all the sides of the house. Good thing that their house is somewhat soundproof to the outside.

Jensen push out the couches so that we can sit down at the centre. "Truth or Dare!" Jensen announces to the group. Everyone sit down and begin pouring drinks on the red cups. I wave at Ollie to come; dragging Lucas with him. He sit down beside me and Lucas on his side.

"We're going to play, 'Truth or Dare'." I whisper to his ear.

"You don't need to choose dare which I encourage you to do so." I say. These guys are rough when it comes to games like this. I wouldn't have to go with them if it isn't for the game earlier. Anyway, I'll be out of their hairs in two months.

"You spin it." Jensen instructs me.

I drag my hand to the bottle and twists its body, blurring as it spins.

The thing stopped right in front of Alen, "Truth or Dare?" I ask.

"Dare." he says smiling comically.

"I dare you to lick Jensen's mom on the face." I say, trying not to burst in laughter.

He stands up, rolling his eyes. He walk outside as we listen carefully.

"ALEN MIGUEL SYNDER!"

We burst into fit of laughter as he enters the house, "You guys are dicks." he says, wiping his tongue on his shirt. We burst into fit of laughter yet again.

"My turn, 'Truth or Dare?" he says.

"Truth." I say.

"Pussy." Jensen says, laughing.

I chuck him the bottle and he ducks, it roll down littering the floor.

"Did you have sex with Sienna Jimenez?" he asks.

I grimace at the thought. I may or may not have sex with the reddish brown girl.

"No." I say.

"Really? The school says otherwise." Broodi says.

Ollie look down on his shoes feeling embarassed, a hint of blush crept to his neck. I grab his hand, pressing it.

"We should ask Ollie." Alen says.

"This game does not work that way." I say.

"No, it's fine." Ollie says.

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Yeah."

"Okay." I say, looking up to Alen giving him a hard stare. Dick.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Um..truth." he says, shouting along the music.

"Of course." Alen says, smirking.

"Do you have a crush on our point guard?" he asks. I would have punch him on the face if Ollie didn't push me down by firmly holding my arm.

Real dick.

"Yes?" he says.

"That's a question?"

"Yes..no.. I mean.. I might have a crush on your point guard." he says blushing while peering an eye on me.

"That's okay. Everyone has a crush on our point guard." Alen says, laughing as if there's something funny in it.

"So, you have a crush on Rafael?" Broodi says, smirking at him.

"What? No, I ain't no gay." he says dismissively.

Jensen locks his neck, struggling from the ordeal. He release him when he started choking. If it were me I'd club him longer than that.

We resume the stupid game. Broodi dared all the chances he gets. He's stupid enough to say dare, not that we're complaining since he basically became the group's clown.

"There's a fine line between what we want and what we need. There's a fine line and it's getting the best of me." I mumble along the music.

When we got tired playing 'Truth or Dare', we move to the pool area. Their pool is big enough to cater us. Alen and Broodi run into the water, splashing us on the process. "Guys, your fucking shoes." Jensen yells at the two morons. They chuck their shoes on the grass and went to remove their shirts. "Pool partyyyy!" Broodi shouts out of his lungs. Alen copies him and the two of them laugh maniacally on the water.

Ollie and Lucas have excused themselves when we're done playing inside. Decided to have their own party on Lucas's room. God knows what they're going to do in there. Probably talk about math and that stuffs. What a nerds. But he's my nerd.

My nerd.

I smile at the thought and dive into the pool. Jensen bring another set of packs on the pool. We party like there's no tomorrow.

I've been drinking nonstop since we got here, so I and Ollie are going to stay here for the night. As of the two meatheads; they decided to walk home since they live a few minutes away from here. "Thanks Jenskin." I say, my word slurring.

Ollie lie down next to me, probably annoyed or disgusted by the repugnant smell of alcohol. But then, he wound his arms around me. I nestle to the warmth his bodys' giving of.

"Goodnight, Rr." he says, burying his face to my head.

"Goodnight my nerd!" I say as the sleep envelops me.
