Chereads / Scars on the Avengers / Chapter 9 - Day 8

Chapter 9 - Day 8

Giselle p.o.v

I squirmed in my cable collar.

In the back of the truck, two people were watching me.

The idiots thought that my hands would be too busy trying to find out how to breathe.

Actually, they probably wanted me to do that so that I wouldn't suffocate before they got me to Roman.

But I won't be making it to Roman.

I ripped off the cable with gorilla arms and jumped on the nearest soldier ninja thingy.

The second one ran over to me and I slammed him into the wall.

The man I was next too tried to side sweep me and I ducked, right before throwing him right back into the other guy.

They were both unconscious.

There were two doors, one on each side of the metal cylinder I was in.

I walked to the one on the left, to see the connection between the driver part, and the cargo.

I ripped off the back wall and looked into the front of the truck to see the driver.

He looked back and yelled.

I grabbed him out of the seat and threw him out of the truck.

I saw a gun on the thigh of one of the men I took down, then took it out of its Hollister and loaded it.

I shot the gas tank below me and was plummeted into the air.

I noticed I was roughly a mile from where I left Tony and Peter.

Turning into a cat and landing gracefully on the floor, I looked up to see Peter and Tony break through the tree line.

They both got ready to fight when they saw the truck fragments on the floor, some plastic pieces melted to the floor.

They looked at me, a tabby cat sitting on the floor with a gun in my paw, and stared.

I turned into a human again and they continued staring.

"What happened here?" Tony said.

"Yeah Giselle, Mr. Stark had to blast his cables twelve times before they gave in. How did you do it?" Peter asked.

I smirked and walked over to a large hunk of metal, picked it up, and bent it into a pretzel.

"You can't take on the avengers without super strength." I said.

Peter smiled and chuckled to himself.

The guy I threw out of the truck was slowly army crawling away, it was obvious why.

I have broken both of his legs.

I held up my pointer tiger at Tony and Peter, "just a sec."

I walked over to him and stomped on his knee.

Hard.

He yelled in pain and I pinned his hand to the floor with my foot.

"Why does Roman want me back?" I asked.

He remained silent.

I grabbed his jaw.

"Did you fucking hear me? I asked you a question!" I yelled in his face.

"He only tells us what we need to know to do our missions." He said, then grimaced.

"What does he want with me?" I asked, somewhat quietly.

"To complete the plan that you delayed. It's only a matter of time before he gets you back and continues what he started. Like he said, the avengers can beat us in skill, but in stealth? You'll be back in no time."

I paled. A tear collected.

I backed away from him and walked over to Peter, who wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Do you hear me? He will get you back!" He yelled.

Without looking at him I crushed him with large pieces of metal.

The tear fell and we walked back in silence.

A few minutes away from the avengers tower, I broke away from Peter.

"Hey, um, I'm going to just... just, make the rest of the way by myself. I need some alone time."

He nodded and looked down.

I hugged Tony and walked ahead before turning into a leopard.

I ran into the building and up into my room.

I sat down on my bed and hugged Splotch.

"Hey, how was your day splotch? Mine was ok. Pretty uneventful." I said.

She yipped.

I chuckled and then started to cry.

*******************************

At the dinner table my plate sat empty.

I don't eat before bed. Everyone know that now.

"Oh, Giselle, you got mail today. I forgot to tell you." Said Steve.

I looked at him, "When did it arrive Steve?" I asked.

He thought about it for a second.

"I think around one o'clock this morning. Which is kind of an odd time to deliver mail come to think of it. Het Nat can you please pass the salad?" He said.

I paled.

I had escaped at one o'clock.

"Um, where did you put it Steve?" I asked, trying not to scream.

"Over by the door." He said, eating his salad.

I stood up and walked over to the door.

Next to the door was a small envelope.

No stamp. No return address.

Just my name, in the center, typed out.

I carefully opened it, my hands shaking.

On the paper inside had my schedule of a day on it.

The schedule of today.

I dropped it and it gracefully hit the floor, face down.

My hands lifted up to my face and covered my mouth.

Tony and Peter came over.

"What happened?" Asked Tony.

He bent down to pick up the slip of paper.

I used my telekinesis to shred it to pieces and I spread them across the room.

I ran out of the building and climbed up a tree.

Peter p.o.v

A few minutes after she ran off I decided to follow her.

Eventually I found her in a tree, curled up on a ball.

She was crying.

I climbed up and sat next to her.

"Hey, hey hey hey, it's ok." I said.

She shook her head.

"No, no it isn't. They're coming back for me, Peter. They're coming back. And this time, they're going to get me. I'm not going to be able to escape this time."

I promised to always protect her.

This time I won't let her down.

They won't get her back if I have to die protecting her.
