Chapter 13 - day 12

obviously my tactics of trying to buy time is not working. I'm going to update the next chapter tomarrow. have a great day everyone!!!! and merry Christmas!!!

........

I woke up to a unbearable pain in my right calf, and I opened my eyes to see a girl controlling water taking me away from the avengers tower.

I struggled, but she covered my face in water, preventing me from breathing.

I passed out.

Peter p.o.v

I followed her.

God, they were fast.

I saw she struggling violently and smiled.

They abruptly stopped and fell to the ground a few dozen yards ahead.

When we reached them, there was only one person sitting there.

Giselle.

She was laying on the ground, her eyes were closed.

I rushed over to her.

She didn't have a pulse.

I started to cry.

Everyone gathered around me.

Mr. Stark put his hand on my shoulder and cried with me.

I picked her up.

God, why is she so heavy?

Like, this is a non human like heavy.

All of a sudden, she gave a gasp.

I cried harder than I did when she died then when she came back to life.

I gently set her down so she leaned on a tree.

She stood up.

"Sup guys, what did I miss?"

She said.

Um. What???

"Um, Giselle, you were just kidnapped." I said.

She rolled her eyes.

"Really? I was kidnapped right in front of you and Tony a few days ago and escaped in minutes." She said.

"Well, yeah... but this time you died." Said Mr. Stark.

She looked at him.

"No I didn't." She said.

"Giselle, yeah, you did." I said.

"I checked your pulse myself."

"Peter, if I did, then how am I talking to you right now?" She asked.

Good question.

"Um, actually, maybe I checked your pulse wrong." I said.

She nodded.

"Maybe."

I looked into her eyes.

They... looked different.

They didn't have the depth that they used to, they looked, new.

********************

When we all arrived to the avengers tower, I walked to my room.

Giselle wouldn't stop looking at me funny.

Like I was following her, and she didn't know why.

When I walked into the room next to her, she then nodded with realization.

"Hey, um. Giselle? Are you ok?" I asked

She turned around and nodded.

"Yeah, sorry. Just thinking."

We stood there for a moment.

"Goodnight Peter."

"Goodnight Giz."

She looked back at me for a sec.

I thought she would ask about the nickname, but I guess I was wrong.

I just felt like trying it out.

I went to bed thinking,

What happened to Giselle in the twenty minutes she was gone?

*****************************

I woke the next morning feeling weird.

Like my spidey senses were exploding in anticipation.

I went down the elevator to see Giselle eating breakfast with Mr. Stark, Natasha, Bucky, Steve, and Clint.

"Morning Peter." She said.

"Morning Giz." Everyone stared at me.

Probably because I just called her Giz.

Mr. Stark was looking between me and his daughter, like he didn't know whether to be happy for us or do everything in his power to split us apart or just ignore the fact that anything was going on or be suspicious.

I think he decided on the third option.

All of a sudden, I winced, my spidey senses were off the fritz, and it was starting to give me a migraine.

I grabbed Advil from the cabinet and ate five.

Since I have a super metabolism I have to make sure the effects last longer.

I turned around and was that it was just me and Giselle.

"Um, hey. Giselle, where did everyone else go?"

"Peter, Peter, I'm not the real Giselle. You have to run. It's not me. I'm a fake. You need to warn the others and run for your life. Be cautious....I'm a fake....I'm not real...You... have to... run.... I'm.... a... fake.... Run... Fake...."

I opened my eyes that I didn't notice were closed.

Giselle's face was inches from mine.

I jumped back and rubbed my temples.

"Woah... what just happened?"

They all looked at me.

"Um, Peter, we don't really know. You just... stood there for a second then collapsed." Said Bucky.

But I wasn't talking to them, I was talking to myself.

It was like living in a nightmare for a second.

I closed my eyes.

It was like my brain was trying to tell me something, but instead of thinking it, it showed it to me.

"Nevermind. I haven't eaten in a while. I was probably just low on energy." Everyone nodded, but Bruce gestured to me to come over.

I walked over and we went to the lab.

"Look, Peter, I don't think that you just fainted of lack of energy. What really just happened?" He asked.

I looked at the ground.

"It started when I turned around from the cabinet. Everyone was gone, it was just me and Giselle. She started saying all of this stuff, it doesn't make sense." I said.

"What did she say Peter?"

"She would keep repeating stuff like, 'I am a fake' and 'run for your life'. I don't know what it means Bruce. I'm kind of scared."

Bruce paced his lab, both hands on his mouth.

"Peter, have you Spidey senses done anything? Like, spike dramatically recently?" He finally asked.

"Yes actually. Now that I think about it the reason why I was facing the cabinet in the first place was because my senses were causing a bad migraine."

Bruce nodded and sat down.

"Ok. Well, have a nice day Peter. I'm going to get to work, but I hope that your day passes 'collapse' free."

I walked out of the room quietly.

He was actually getting really tired.

He seemed to be getting more and more exhausted as he walked to his room.

He finally reached his door.

As soon as he touched the door handle however, he sat up in his bed. It was like he was teleported from a sunny morning to the break of dawn.

He looked around until he saw his clock.

It was 8 o'clock.

Soooooooo all of that.

That whole thing.

Was a dream?

But... that doesn't make sense!

Well, actually, it makes perfect sense, it's just hard to believe because it felt so realistic.

But, no matter how many times I told myself that it was a dream, a part of me new that at least some of it had some kind of truth to it.

Giselle p.o.v

I woke up on a metal table, unable to move.

My arms and legs had been restrained to the table, using large metal cylinders.

I looked around, recognize it my surroundings, and burst into tears.

I was back.

I was back stuck in the hell-hole.

The door opened.

Roman walked in, so did water girl.

"So," said Roman "your finally back where you belong."

"Hey sir." Said water girl.

"Not now Candice, miss stark here just got back, I am enjoying this moment." He smiled meanly at me.

I struggled harder than ever to escape.

"Sure. But you can do that later. What about that freedom you promised?" She said, tapping her foot on the cement floor.

He sighed and walked up to her.

"I was hoping to do this in private, but I might as well make an example out of you." He said.

Her face had an expression of confusion until she realized what was going on.

She tried to back away, but he grabbed her shoulder, keeping her in place.

"Hail HYDRA." He said, plunging a large knife right through her heart.

The life left her eyes as she tumbled to the floor.

He turned to me, swinging his large knife and walking in my direction.

"Now," he said, now right next to me "where were we?"

I let out a scream as the blade made its first cut in my flesh.

The lasting I remembered before passing out from pain was an image of a boy.

Around my age.

With a cute smile and blonde hair.

His name is Peter.

The last thing I thought of was how much I loved him.
