She and her family are running from a past that Jasmine relives every night in her nightmares and her parents are embarrassed by. And this time she has been strictly been told that they have to stay and settle down in this small town that is practically in the middle of nowhere. So there is no option but to attend town high school and wish that kids at Asher High don't notice her AT ALL for the next two years. Jasmine learned a long time ago that trusting someone and letting them in can be a grave mistake. So she prefers to keep everyone at arm's length and live in her little castle made of silver. But when she looks at Jeremy Cannis she wants to give up her peaceful castle. Even if she can see that there is something seriously strange about him and his family. The only problem is that Jeremy has made his personal mission to test Jasmine's every limit and make her his own. Limits that no one in her entire family wants no one going near. But the only way to leave her past is if Jasmine holds the hand of her future; Jeremy Cannis. What happens if the one has been running from comes knocking at her door? Will she ever be able to trust anyone again? Will Jeremy be able to help Jasmine to overcome her fears and accept reality? And him? After all the stronger they are the harder they fall.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Past cannot be changed, but the future is yet in your power."

The things of the past.

She kept on running.

It did not matter how fast, because it just kept chasing her.

It was as if it was playing with her. Teasing. Toying. Taunting.

Like a predator plays with his prey, just before it could end a life and eager to leave a carcass behind, a present to the vultures.

Maybe that is why it was playing this horrific game because she actually felt like a prey.

It plays a game to ensure that the last bit of hope is crushed under the prey's own advancing feet.

Hope that maybe one could come out of it alive.

The 13 years old thought the same thing. But as the chase lead on, the idea of running was becoming useless. But the fear of life was becoming greater with every passing thunder of the foot meets the ground. The prey questioned if the horrific images would ever fade or this nightmare would ever end.

"Why did I not listen to mom?" the prey whispered, running towards its palace.

Even in the cool autumn air, the prey was sweating. the chimes of the church bells nearby introduced the midnight hour. The ground of the forest was musky from the fallen decomposing leaves. The thing was gaining speed at an abnormal pace.

The lights ahead identified a familiar residence.

The reality of being killed was overcome with joy, and one look behind said that the danger was lost.

The prey slowed to a stop, out of breath.

Just as it thought that everything that happened might have been a trick of the mind as a dark shadow loomed from the side and tackled the prey.

What happened next you may ask...

A gut curdling scream, that could wake the ghosts from their rest, filled the air.

The earth was covered in a fresh layer of blood and gore and the poor prey fell in the bottomless pit of darkness.

The prey was left alone with nothing.

Nothing but endless pain, a few precious breaths, and a scenery pained with fear and hope that someone might save her.

"HOPE DOES DIES LAST.," the prey thought with senseless humour; before darkness fell upon the world.
