Hello? Ōkami? Can you hear me?
Ōkami shoots up from his sleep as his eyes go wide.
What is this voice? Who is this voice?
A moment of just thinking about it, the voice comes back but more precise.
"Hello Ōkami, I know you have a lot of questions, and I will always be here to answer them, as I am apart of you."
The Half Wolf, still confused on who this voice is, nods to the unknown voice.
Am I going crazy?
Ōkami shakes his head at that though; How could he be insane.
The wolf took a glaze at Marks sleeping form; glad that he couldn't hear this conversation.
He looked back up to the ceiling as if the voice had been coming from there
"Apart of me? What is that's supposed to mean? And you didn't answer my question, who are you?"
Sincerity coming out of Ōkami's mouth, wanting to know who this voice was.
As if almost smiling, the voice introduces itself,
"I am Mamoru, your protector form. We are like two minds in one; I shall only come out by command; when you need me, I shall take form and lend you my power."
Processing this information something dawned him. I've never seen one of my kind these days have another form, only those in the ancient days.
What was so special about him then, he was a normal wolf with only one ability.
"Well if your here then what am I supposed to do? My dad left all of this pressure under me, and I'm scared. I try to make a change, but all I do is almost kill myself, with no progress ever made."
Ōkami spits the hard cold truth at the voice, tears were flowing down his cheeks.
"Ōkami, I am not here to guide you. As for myself, I don't know what is next; maybe we both can figure that out. If you ever need my power, just call out my name and I shall take form.
Maybe an added attribute of mine may help you; take my wings, Ōkami. They shall help you on your journey."
The voice calmly says. Soon leaving Ōkami to himself again, the orange wolf looks down at his lap as he hears a shuffle, he looks over to see Mark waking up.
Mark rubs his eyes as he gives Ōkami a worried look,
Oh god! Did he hear the conversation I had with Mamoru? He must think I'm crazy, and he'll possibly throw me out for that. Do humans do that?
Ōkami starts to shake from the sudden thoughts; Mark laughs, "Ōkami, you can stop shaking;
I'm not mad at you. I just want to know who you were talking with. Is it a voice in your head?"
The wolf sighs as he gives Mark a simple nod of his head.
"I was, I didn't know what it was, scared me for a second. It told me that it's name was Mamoru and that he was my protector form. I thought all animals with the 2 other forms died out after humans and animals became enemies. He said he gave me one of his attributes; wings."
Ōkami suddenly starts having a strange feeling in his upper back; his fur began to rise slowly, and bones were rearranging as wings slowly sprouted from his back.
Two big orange wings with hints of green on the feathers as he slowly starts to get used to these wings.
Mark soon drags his fingers across the newly sprouted wings slowly. Occasionally purrs were heard from Ōkami, oh how he had missed this kind of affection.
"We should get going; I don't want to know what happens if I stay here any longer, Archen is constantly looking for me."
Mark agrees with the animal as they quietly slip out of the house, making their way to Ōkami's cave back in the woods.
——————————————————————————
They soon make it to Ōkami's cave; Mark can't help but notice that there is absolutely nothing in this cave, no extra food or anything.
Ōkami can sense Mark's confusion as he slowly scratches his head.
"Yeah, My kind usually doesn't live the best lives; we try to, but we know that we all will eventually die from humans, so we don't even try to decorate. Centuries ago, when the first animal was turned into its insane form, we all became weary of even being near them."
The orange wolf sighs as he lays on his big rock, while Mark starts a fire to keep him warm.
Ugh what am I supposed to do now? Archen has practically got us cornered. I feel like I'm the last of my kind; I haven't seen anyone like me in a while.
"Now don't think like that Ōkami, with a mind like that, will get us nowhere. I can sense that there are more of your kind Ōkami, probably in every laboratory out there, so this will be quite a long adventure if you want to prove you are more superior than the humans."
Mamoru says with a calm yet clear voice.
Ōkami just smiles; it's nice to be able to to someone just like him.
It made him feel wanted and that he had belonged somewhere.
It didn't take long for Mark to notice the sudden excitement coming from Ōkami.
"Now what's got you in a good mood, got any plans where we're going to go next. Don't get sugar happy Ōkami." Mark says with a chuckle.
Okami rolls his eyes as Mark doesn't notice since his eyes were completely white.
"Hah hah hilarious Mark, but yes. Mamoru said that there should be more of my kind out there.
If Archen wants to start a war, then so be it. We can't do this alone, though; we are much stronger than your kind, enough of mine, and we shall surely win. I have Mamoru so we should be able to slip into town without being detected."
Mark looks at Ōkami, stunned with all of the sudden information.
He didn't hesitate to nod as Ōkami jumps off his rock to lay next to Mark, who was next to the fire.
As Ōkami fall asleep, Mark soon speaks.
"What happened with the relationship we used to have with you guys? It was never you guys who had troubled us but instead was always my kind who was troubling you.
We had wanted to be the superior species and had acted without thinking about what we were doing. I just want to apologize all that you went through because of my kind."
Mark looks down at Ōkami, who was sleeping peacefully; that's what they had needed at this moment, a good nights rest, especially what was about to happen tomorrow.
——————————————————————————
Mark slowly opens his eyes due to the sun shining into the cave; the male looks at his side to see that Ōkami had not been there anymore.
Walking out of the cave and into the field, he soon spots Ōkami on top of an abandoned shed, speaking in what seemed to be his language and looking up to the sky.
Mark makes his way to Ōkami as he climbs up and sits next to him.
"So who are you talking to this early in the morning?I just saw you looking up at the sky, so I was just wondering."
Mark suddenly speaks as Ōkami snaps his neck in Mark's direction.
"My parents, they both died when I was just a cub. I come here to this shed to talk to them, letting them know what's been going on.
It helps me relax, you know they would've loved to meet you, they loved humans like you.
I just need to find out what human would kill them like that."
Ōkami sighs before speaking up once more, "We should head out, hopefully we can find one of my kind there; Mamoru suggests that it would be best for him to be out during this,
So you'll be able to meet him right away."
Ōkami suggests to Mark as they both get off of the shed, making their way back to the woods so the wolf could change forms without being caught.
"Alright, Mamoru, it's time, led me your power and take form to my body, let out minds think as one."
Ōkami yells to the sky as he can slowly feel himself drift into the darkness, his body began to change into something new and powerful.
Ears start to split into four as the stitching on his neck rips open, showing off a row of teeth.
Mark looks at the new animal with wide eyes as he isn't sure how to react to this.
"Don't be afraid to speak to me Mark, I am fighting by your side; I have an ability that will surely let us into the city without being detected; we just need to find a way to get caught once we're in the lab."
Mamoru speaks to Mark in a calm voice
How can he be so calm about this! He wants us to get caught, is he serious?
"Your crazy; I've never seen anybody get out of those chains; what is so different about you. What will we achieve if we just get caught!"
Mark says to the animal with an almost loud voice; Mamoru just shakes his head; humans never learn, do they.
"You used to work there Mark, animals are always paired with each other. For the escaping part, that will be easy. I can easily get out of chains. I will make them think I am chained up with an illusion, and that's how we"ll escape."
Mark understood what the animal had wanted as Mamoru soon disappears out of Mark's eyesight, but appearing once more, hinting to mark that he wanted him to get onto his back.
Both of them now invisible; they make their way to the labs.
Easily able to make it through the city since they were invisible, they enter the lab.
Mamoru had no idea how to get caught without being taken by the wrong person; soon, he was interrupted with a growl behind him as he turns around to see the source of the noise.
The creature had no fur on it, a green wolf looking thing as it had purple tubes coming from it, and purple spikes were seen coming out from its back.
Black blood was slowly dripping from its mouth.
Someone soon spots them there as Mamoru was taken away into a random room, just as Mamoru had wanted.
——————————————————————————
"Ah, so it finally happened Ōkami, or should I say Mamoru. I knew you would come back."
Geez, now I know what Ōkami was talking about; this guy sure is annoying.
The man could tell that Mamoru wasn't paying attention to him as he grabs his mussel but is immediately bit in his hand, quickly drawing blood.
"No touching me, it's that simple; I maybe the other side of Ōkami, but that doesn't mean I like to play by the rules all the time."
Mamoru says with an evident smirk on his face, Archen comes close as he punches him in the face but Mamoru wasn't effected by it one bit.
"You know, Archen, you humor me. Did you think you would be able to hurt me with your weak little human arms? You know why I came here, and you know what I intend to do.
Trust me; it's for the best of our kind and your kind; now please leave your stupidity is giving me a headache."
The animal that had been beside him gives him a simple chuckle before speaking.
"Finally someone knocked some sense into that dude, thought no animal ever would. How are you supposed to get out, though; you just got yourself caught."
The male spoke to him with laughter in his voice but soon turned into worry.
"That was just an illusion that I had up to fool them; I'm not chained up. But I do need your help; Archen is planning a war against our kind to prove who is superior; no, I don't care if you don't want to come with, I just ask that you help us prove superior."
Mamoru says with honesty in his voice as he sees the animal nod towards him.
"But what is so special about you, who are you even, and how do you supposedly have more than one form like our kind centuries ago?"
"I am Mamoru, the protector form of my original host, Ōkami, and we are the ones who are supposed to convince the humans that our kind isn't what they think we are."
