Tuesday
Alissandra Cadence
My alarm vibrated on the nightstand and woke me up, I yawned while stretching my arms as I sit in bed. I reached for my phone to turn it off and saw that it was snoozed twice and it's already 5:10 in the morning. Did he snooze my phone? I looked at my side and he's gone. I went downstairs and I saw him in the kitchen doing breakfast.
"Good morning," he said as soon as he saw me.
"Morning," I replied then went in the bathroom to fix myself up.
I got out and I saw a towel at the table. I used it to dry my face then tied my hair up into a ponytail.
"Hey, you're up early. What's up?" then I sat on the chair.
"Nothing really." then he looked back at me "I just wanted to make you breakfast, that's all."
"Okay, I appreciate the effort." I stood up and walked to the window to look outside.
It looks like it rained overnight. The street is all wet and it's still dark outside but the lamp posts are still on and light up the road. And there's no sign of my parents being home yet. I just walked back to the table and he just walked out of the kitchen.
"Breakfast is served." then he placed all the food on the table.
I sat and looked at all the food he cooked. He cooked eggs, ham, bacon, and even hotdogs. And there's also a green salad, unsurprising.
"Wow, that's a lot though. Are you gonna eat it all?" I asked.
He laughed "Nah, those are fried so I can store it and eat it later on." then gave me a plate.
"Oh okay. Thanks."
Then we started eating.
"What time are you gonna go home?" he asked.
"Uhhhh... After breakfast?"
"Okay, better hurry up then."
"Yeah..." then I continued eating.
"I'm already full." then I wiped my mouth. "I'm just gonna go get my stuff upstairs." then I went upstairs and took all my stuff and already went down.
He went to the bathroom so I just sat on the couch first and waited for him to come out since it'll be really disrespectful that I'd go back home already without him knowing. I felt thirsty and the dispenser is in the kitchen. I stood up and walked to the kitchen. As I took my first step into the kitchen, the bathroom door opened and he's just about to come out. I stared at him for a sec and I'm completely shocked. He's drying his hair with a towel and he's shirtless.
His body's just so perfect, ugh.
Then he looked at me.
Frick!
"Oh! I am - just gonna uhh...grab some water! Yeah." I said right away with my hands shaking and I'm totally embarrassed.
Then I walked to the dispenser and drank some water. Then realized that I drank 3 cups of water already. What the heck. Am I that thirsty? Or he's just really hot? Ugh! I glanced at my watch and - shit! It's already 6 AM! I quickly rushed to the living room and then grabbed my bag. He's not here, he might be upstairs changing his clothes.
"Hey, Lij?!"
"Yeah?" he shouted from upstairs.
"I'm going now! I'm gonna be late, thank you so much!" then I already went out.
As I went out of his house, I looked back for a sec and then looked up then I saw him through the window of his room.
He's still shirtless!
I slapped myself rapidly.
Come on, Alissandra!
I got to our doorstep. I looked around first to see if there are people walking around and there are none. I took the key under the mat and already went inside. I didn't even manage to take a bath since I'm literally gonna be late for my first class. And I'm not that smelly yet either. I went upstairs already to change. I removed my shirt - and realized that I'm still wearing his clothes! I took it off and sniffed it, it smells so freaking good.
Ugh! Focus, Alissandra! You're gonna be late!
I wore my uniform already and shit - I almost forgot to sort out my stuff in my bag. I quickly grabbed and left everything that I'm not gonna have to bring. I took my bag and already went out.
3 Hours Later
"Cadence? Hey! Cadence!!" Tyler then tapped my desk and I suddenly snapped out.
"Oh, what?"
His eyes squinted "Look around, we're all going to our own groups. You're the only one sitting."
I quickly looked around - fuck, he's right. I'm the only one sitting and some of my classmates are looking at me. Shitty daydreams.
What's happening to me?!
I stood up and Tyler gave me a piece of paper.
"That's your group number, go find your group mates. G'luck." then he winked at me and walked to his group.
Damn, playboys are getting desperate these days.
Inside the classroom is so noisy that I can't even find my group properly. I'm assigned to group number five, and I can't even find them.
"Number two?! Anyone?"
"Hey, sizzy! We're group mates!"
"Three here!"
"Where the fuck are you going, Owen?"
I walked to the back to check and someone just grabbed my hand.
"You're mine."
I looked back and it was him, Jason. I just reminded myself that we are classmates in my third class. He looked a bit different though but still looks good as hell. He looked at me in the eye, and that's when I felt that something might be wrong.
"W-what are you saying?" then I pulled my hand.
"You're mine, you're one of my group members."
Oh...
Clint then put his arm over Jason's shoulder "Oh, come on. Explain it well to Ms. Introvert or she might misunderstand." he then laughed and tapped Jason's back then already went back to where he's sitting.
"Ohhh...right," I said while scratching my nape.
Then he held my hand again and pulled me towards our group. Wait, I'm still mad at him, right? I pulled my hand back again, and he didn't even look at me. As if he was expecting that.
"Hey guys, Cadence's with us," he said.
"O'right! An honor student on our side, what a relief," Travis said then sat comfortably.
I just sat quietly, then I stared at my hand. It's been a while since the last time we held hands. He wanted to talk last time, right? Well, maybe I'll just let him initiate.
Jason McKenley
"Good job guys! We got an A!" Travis shouted proudly.
"Well, lucky you. You have Ms. Introvert in your group." Clint bragged.
"Nah, we all worked together and we know it," I said then shrugged along with my hands.
"Okay, everyone. I'm gonna dismiss you early today, I have a meeting to attend. You may have your break," Mr. Larsson said then left already.
I was about to go out already but I just saw her staring outside the window. I approached her and stood beside her.
"Nice view, isn't it?" then she didn't reply.
"You seem bothered, what's the prob - oh, yeah... I am the problem..." I frowned then attempted to walk away-
"Stay," she said then grabbed my shoulders without looking at me.
I looked at where she's looking and saw a huge black butterfly on a lily. And there I figured out why she's been staring outside for a long time.
Almost all of our classmates are outside and we're just standing here near the window.
"Can we uhh...talk?" I asked as I lean on the windowsill.
"We're talking now, aren't we?" and she's still staring outside.
It seems like she's amazed about what she just saw and can't get over it.
"Yeah, I mean-" I sighed "About last time - at the funeral, I'm really sorry. I never knew that-"
"Well, now you know," she cut me off.
She's being sarcastic, which is not a good sign because it means that she's still mad.
"I'm sorry, again."
"It's fine," she said then looked at me for a second. "Last time, you said you wanted to talk to me. But you didn't even show up at my house so I thought that maybe you've changed your mind."
Oh, right. That fucking day.
"Ahhh - yeah I got into something and didn't have the chance to go. Sorry 'bout that," and I suddenly thought about something.
"How about you? What were you doing that night?" I said then crossed my arms.
She looked back at me "That night? When you texted me?" she then stared outside "I was just studying."
Oh, really? Studying? Studying what? Your man's future? His body? His goddamn history that made you fall for him because of what he's been through? Come on, Alissa.
I hate your lies, but - I love the way you say them.
"Ohhh, okay. I was too," I said.
"I doubt that," then she chuckled.
That was my line...
"What? Not just because I got a B- means I don't study at all."
"Okay, dummy." then she laughed genuinely. Ahh, how I missed to see her like this.
Soon enough, you'll tell me all about that guy. And on that day, I'd be acting like I never knew, like you never lied to me. It hurts, just imagining that day already tears me apart. Imagine being told about something you already knew yourself, I don't even know how to endure it all. At this point, I think I had already given up, Liss. If you're gonna be happy with him, I won't take that away from you. But I'm still gonna be here for you, no matter what. As your goddamn best friend.
