"Here you go," the waitress said as she gave us our order.
"Thank you," Elijah said.
"Okay ma'am and sir, enjoy your food!" she said and already walked back to the counter.
The food here is really nice and well served, I could already tell that it's delicious just by looking at it, like really. And it smells absolutely good too. It's super classy like it seems more expensive.
Elijah looked at the receipt for a moment and his eyes squinted.
"How much is it?" I asked.
"Nah, it's just 200 bucks," he said then put the receipt aside. What the hell? 200 bucks for two salads?! This is insane!
"Oh, wow. We uh - can just split the bill, you know?" I said and attempted to grab my wallet.
"Nahhh stop. It's my treat anyways, don't worry about that," he said then winked.
What the hell is going on?!
"Okay then... thank you."
"Nah, it's fine. Let's eat?" he said.
"Yeah, let's just eat," I said then already started to eat my food.
I just looked at him for a sec and he's not even moving his food and he's just staring at it. I swallowed the food in my mouth and asked
"Don't you like it? I thought you like salads?"
"Y-yeah, of course, I do," he said uncertainly.
"Are you sure? Go ahead, try it. It's good, trust me." I said then moved his plate closer to him.
He then started to take a bite and said "Oh wow. Yeah it's good." he said then gave me a thumbs up.
Then he continued eating his food. He's not really talkative while eating, unlike Jason that even talks to me with his mouth full which is something I hate.
But I missed it.
Ugh, why am I thinking about him? I just continued eating then we finished eventually.
"It's good, right? I told you." I said while wiping my mouth.
"Yeah, it was good. It was just kind of a bit different to the salads I eat though that's why I'm somehow hesitating to eat it at first. Haha." he said then drank his water.
"So where do you wanna go now?" he asked "To the resort? Hmm?" he said in a cringey tone.
"Psh. I just wanna go and chill. And I feel like going to the forest park right now. Just hang out and stuff." I said then looked outside the window.
"Do you wanna go? Like, now?" he asked.
"Maybe in a bit," I replied while still looking outside and we just sat there for a minute.
"This place is so beautiful, like - if I'd ever gonna propose to someone...This is the perfect place," he said while also staring outside.
I just looked at him and he looks so good as frick. He's just chillin'. Staring outside with his legs open wide while leaning on his chair and he just looks so handsome in his maroon suit.
"This is just like a dream," he said.
"Have you ever thought about why we dream every night?" he asked.
Well, that question caught me off guard. And I also don't know the exact reason why.
"All I know is that it's kind of like the summary of the things that happened during the day," I said while playing with the fork on my plate.
"Well, falling from great heights is not a thing for me during the day," he said sarcastically.
"But falling in love, yes. I guess," he said then I caught him staring at me.
"Let's go?" I asked.
"Yeah let's go to the park that you were talking about," he said then already stood up.
I also stood up and we walked to the counter and Elijah paid for our food. Then we already got out of the restaurant and now heading back to his car. He opened the door for me.
"Thanks," I said as I went inside.
He also went inside and already started the car "So where exactly is this park that you were talkin' about?" he asked.
"Well, it's just near the mall," I said.
"The mall? The mall is like heading back home now and it's an hour drive from here. And it's kind of early to go home now, right?" he said then looked at me "You know what, I have a better place to take you right now." then he started driving.
I just sat there quietly while looking out the window and discreetly looking at him through the side mirror of the car. He's just so perfect. And the fact that he's not wearing his glasses today makes him so attractive as hell.
"Why didn't you wear your glasses today?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah. You noticed, haha. I just don't feel like wearing it today so I just had to wear contacts."
"Oh okay, pretty convincing. You look really good without it." I said then laid my head on the window. "Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see," he said then looked at me for a sec. Then just continued driving.
He's been driving for a while and we just arrived at a park beside a playground. I opened the car door, went out, and wandered around. This place is so amazing. It is very nice, simple and beautiful but...there's no one around. I walked around and saw an arch and it says Le Perdu Parc de Mémoire, it's obviously french and I kind of understood it since I know some french words and it means "The Lost Park of Memories".
The park is full of shaped bushes and trees along with the plants and flowers on every side. And besides the park lies the playground but it's locked. I walked closer to the playground and held onto the gate while looking inside and it's so beautiful. I looked at the gate and there's something carved on its paint and says "Regret is always at the end." which is so weird.
It's like a forbidden paradise. Everything that you'd ever find in a playground is all here. A ginormous slide, swings, seesaws, Merry-Go-Rounds and so much more. And inside of it is full of sand as well. It's like a half-hectare just for a playground. I've always wanted to go to places like this when I was a child, with my sister...Rebecca.
"Beautiful...right?" Elijah just came out of nowhere behind me and almost scared the shit outta me. "Oh, I didn't mean to...scare you," he said as he saw me back away a little.
"Yeah, it's so wonderful," I replied.
"My dad used to take me here when I was a kid. He also said that this is the place where he met my mom," he said while looking down and scrubbing his feet on the sand.
"Oh, yeah. That's nice. I envy you, haha... Why is it locked tho?" I asked then looked inside.
"To protect the place from unwanted visitors probably. My dad also told me about the rumors about the kids being abducted in this place which is kinda scary. But those are only rumors, there's still no reports of kidnapping here." he said.
"Oh, really? That's why..." I said then frowned.
"Do you wanna...sneak in?" he said then winked at me.
"What? Isn't that trespassing?" I said and moved a bit away and put my hands on my chest.
"Well...not if we get caught, are we? Come, on. I got you." he said then pulled me closer.
"Well, yeah? But how can we get in? Sir? Don't tell me I'm gonna climb that freaking fence in my freaking dress, sir? "
Elijah walked proudly to the corner outside of the playground near the tree and to the fence with vines on it. He put the vines aside and - there's a hole in the fence like what the hell? I got excited for a moment and he just waved his hand, asking me to come over. I walked to him and he said
"In you go, madame." then points his hands to the passage.
"For real? Lij?" I asked since I'm having second thoughts.
"Don't you wanna experience paradise at this point in your life? You only live once, and there's nothing to worry about. Trust me." he said.
"Okay-okaaay, I'm going in. No need to lecture me." then I walked closer to the fence "The thrill of getting caught it is." I said sarcastically.
Then I already tried to go inside. Thanks to my long freaking legs, I've managed to go inside without a scratch from the crumpled fence. Then Elijah tried to go inside as well. I'm just standing there right in front of him while he's trying to get inside and his shoe suddenly got stuck on the fence.
He tried pulling it out and I grabbed his hands both, trying to help him to pull it out. Then he tried to pull it really hard, it suddenly got out and the force of his pull is so great that it also pushed me and we fell to the ground together. And yes, Elijah freaking Caulfield is over me and we're literally holding hands and is above my head which is - ugh. I tried to pull it out but he clasped my hands even more. He just stared at me.
"Uhh- hey... You are... over me?" I said then closed my eyes tightly cause I feel really scared of what's gonna happen next.
"I-I'm sorry, Liss," he said right away
"Nah, it's fine," I said then stood up. Then I shook my dress, trynna get rid of the sand on it. And he also stood up and started patting his outfit.
"Wanna go swing?" I asked.
"Yeah, sure," he said while patting his suit.
Then we walked to the swings and we just sat there for a moment and I'm just swinging lightly while staring at the clouds, and it looks like the sun is about to set. And he's not talking to me as if he felt way too bad or awkward about what just happened. But it's just fine though, really. He's just staring at the ground like a depressed man.
"Don't worry about that, it's fine, trust me," I said, trynna cheer him up. "I was just shocked for a sec but it's fine, for real hahaha. There's nothing wrong with that. "
"Okay. I thought you're gonna treat me in a different way after that, but you're still absolutely nice. You're just so kind." he said then smiled at me.
Well, how can you be mad at this guy tho, to begin with? And yeah, I already like this guy and I don't know.
What's wrong with me?
I wonder if he can go to the prom with me, but that's kind of impossible since he's not a student anymore. And while thinking about that, the ginormous slide caught my attention. It's kind of like a mini-tower but yeah, it has a slide. I stood up then walked towards it and I didn't even ask him but went straight to it instead. I climbed up and reached the very top. I was about to go slide already but the sunset caught my eye, it's so beautiful. It's really orangy and somewhat blue and it's so freaking amazing. I just wanna stare at it for hours if I could. I just stood there and rested my arms on the ledge while staring at it. Then I heard him coming up here.
"Hey - Oh wow. That's so...beautiful," he said as soon as he saw me staring at it.
"Yeah right," I said.
He then moved closer to me and hugged me from behind. He then put my head on his chest, and it's so freaking hard, gawd.
It's his chest, okay?
Then I started feeling his heartbeats which is beating really fast. Is he nervous? Or is it something else?

We just stood there for a moment, watching the beautiful sunset. I'm just savoring every second because it feels so good. And at this point, I'm certain that I already like him - wait, no.
I love him.
"Wanna go slide? Together?" I asked.
"Sure, why not?" he said then sat on the slide already. He got a bit excited, I could tell.
I sat behind him and put my feet at the side of his waist and he held it.
Gawd!
Then I just wrapped my arms into him, from his armpits to his shoulders. So I got closer to him and he smells so freaking good. Then we suddenly started to slide down and fell into the sand together. It's just crazy, we kind of went back to being kids for a while. And we're still on the ground, staring at each other. Then he touched my face and said
"I love you...Alissandra."
