The wind continued to blow harshly,
But that was not Jacq's concern lately.
He knew that someone needed help badly,
And no matter how dangerous, he deemed himself ready.
And he felt shocked despite telling himself not to,
For their enemy, was someone he wishes not to be true.
His distress signal quickly warned the other reapers,
And though they are already filled with tasks,
decided to help their member.
They knew that they won't succeed unless they team up,
And one fatal mistake, is more than enough.
.
.
.
Zeharah continued to fly and dodge the flaming fists directed at her,
It wasn't too simple though, as she doesn't see any more options.
Samael was simply too strong, and doesn't even seem to sweat,
Unlike the angel, who already feels out of breath.
She grits her teeth and tries to land an attack,
But all of it doesn't seem to harm the demon,
He quickly jumped, and was about to break her wings,
If not for the red reaper, who teleported her to a safer viscinity.
Zeharah immediately kneels to the ground, catching her breath.
As Jacq pitied her already beaten state.
Her fingers were dislocated, and her hair a mess,
Her focus isn't even full now, Jacq felt some regret.
Perhaps if he had gotten sooner, she wouldn't have looked like this.
But his thoughts were cut off, when he heard the red demon speak.
"That's not polite, to simply entrude on people's fight,
Say, do you want to be a substitute? I don't mind."
Jacq quickly felt chills crawl on his body,
As he looks at the demon, already walking towards him.
He quickly summons his scythe, and a huge ball of shadow,
Aimed to distract the beast, as he tries to land attacks,
But his plan felt hollow.
Samael seemed unimpressed,
Seeing that the reaper was already sweating.
He knew that the reaper wasn't used to bigger threats,
And since they can read auras, knew this fight wasn't a fight he's winning any less.
"You know I'm stronger,
And you're still willing to protect that girl.
Come on, she's just one soul,
And even if you try your best,
You're smart enough to know you won't reach your goal."
Jacq didn't listen, and continued to teleport here and there,
But Samael would always catch him bare.
The demon quickly managed to get a hold of him,
Until his face was blasted by Zeharah's beam.
"You're still fighting? Ah, so you don't want to rest?"
"Get your hand off him, you ugly pest."
Samael loved that he'd get to kill two of them at once,
Until he suddenly felt his abdomen, burn after recieving a dozen slash.
He looked around and saw reapers, though already on the brink of collapse,
Come to rescue their friends, who are still willing to fight.
He smiles, thinking that they were so pathetic,
And he was about to fight more, until he felt a great aura, approaching.
He turned around, and saw the supreme reaper, Deltha.
Whose presense even surprised the reapers, standing in the area.
They were not used to seeing him walk in the mortal realm,
And seeing his frowning face, caused chills to everyone present.
Samael knew he had to go,
And decided to leave the reapers, despite it all.
He felt irritated though, as he was not able to have more fun,
But knew it would be better, than be killed instantly,
So he ran.
Deltha, whose focus was gathering the reapers,
Didn't even paid mind to what he deemed a weak demon.
He simply looked angry, and upset.
And with a flick of a finger, the reapers felt refreshed.
"We can fight again with this power!"
Jacq exclaimed, happy he won't die sooner.
Deltha however, casted white chains,
Holding all reapers in place.
"No. None of you are fighting after this,
Come on now, gather your rescues and leave this place.
The souls that'd die in this war will be forever lost,
If you're not in great amounts, so walk on and shut your mouths."
Jacq was surprised to hear this,
But felt it would be better if he analyze the conflict.
Deltha isn't someone who'd fight off with angels,
And while he looks mad and pissed,
He was just worried as well.
Jacq carries Zeharah, who eventually doze off,
While the reapers, to where Deltha goes, only follows.
The supreme reaper was quiet the whole trip,
And would quickly kill weak demons, whenever they're on his way.
He managed to secure the watching tower of the demons,
And Michael even thanked him, but was confused of the situation.
Despite it, the archangel prioritized tying Satan with special chains,
That would tighten, the time he wakes.
It was a heavy kind of metal,
And with such weight, one cannot run.
It was of great fortune that Angel Hanah and her team are willing to go back and forth to heaven,
So to supply them great items.
"Thank you for the help in locating a place to interrogate this demon,
But...you gathered most the reapers, may I know the full reason?"
Michael soon asked the quiet leader,
Who only frowned at the question.
"Look at their number.
Decreasing rapidly, and the war isn't near over.
Sir Michael, I may not be their father,
But they are still like my children,
So it hurts me to see them get fewer."
"All of us are decreasing,
Even my angels are suffering.
We cannot win anything without sacrifices,
Do you think I don't cry for them?"
"Crying isn't enough to satisfy the loneliness I feel, Sir Michael,
And I'm also doing this for the world's sake,
One the reapers are wiped, humanity is doomed,
And if God is truly on your side,
you'd win otherwise."
Michael felt shocked of the reaper's reasoning,
And immediately forgot his calm demeanor and pure spirit.
He felt angry remembering his friends' sacrifices,
And felt even angrier, when Deltha made it seem like he's heartless.
"We are warriors, Deltha. We do not run from anyone,
Do you fear those demons?
Why are you breaking the plan?"
"Because it clearly isn't working by a mile.
I can't continue helping you, Michael.
Our damage...it's to big and unfair.
We have done our jobs before, securing the world from evil spirits,
But now, this threat, is simply out of our reach.
We have almost rescued all humans inside the palace,
Except those in the deeper chambers, but that should no longer be on us.
Please, Michael. Let me protect them this time.
My reapers are dying, and those deaths cannot be rewind.
If ever God is angered, I will take the punishment,
But please, let me save them from further torment.
They do not deserve to be used this way.
They're already overworked. So I beg of you,
to let them escape."
Michael crumples his fists as he recalls Selaphiel's acts,
He's probably still talking to Lucifer,
Or maybe he already knows he's to be stabbed in the back.
He quietly turns around,
Disappointed with the surpreme reaper's decision,
But despite his own opinion,
Understood well, the care and compassion.
"I hope I could protect all my angels the way you are doing,
But...if I put them all back, then who will fight? Who will do something?
I...I cannot change your mind, can I?
If not...then, I guess I should say goodbye."
Deltha smiles softly, as he snaps his fingers.
Along it, gone were most of his reapers.
"By the time the other half's mission is over,
I'm pulling them off, and they won't return."
"Thank you for your service,
Although now...you'd leave us alone."
Deltha felt a bit of guilt,
But he didn't change his mind,
And left without another word.
Michael looks at the sleeping Satan,
And in anger, kicked him hard.
The force caused the demon to awoke,
And quickly feared the moment he saw Michael's wrath unfold.
It felt surreal seeing Michael with such passionate hate,
And as a result, Satan froze in place.
Michael gritted his teeth and kicks him again,
This time, with more pressure and pain.
Satan chokes on his own blood as he felt the chains tighten its hold.
Michael would have done much more, if not for Hanah, watching them both.
She quickly walks towards the archangel,
And calmed his heart,
Afraid that his anger,
Would tear him apart.
It was truly a sad sight to see,
To see such a calm person,
Suddenly change in a whim.
She convinces him to leave for air,
And Michael does as she says.
After the two were left alone,
The angel of grace, looks at the demon.
Satan felt so embarrassed, having been chained like a slave,
Unable to stand, nor fight for himself.
He was expecting a lecture, for Hanah to convince him,
Like what most of the archangels, always did.
But...instead she sat down beside the demon,
Without any fear, any hesitation.
"Faegan...are you still there?"
She asked, surprising him so much he just stared.
For some unexplainable reason however,
His tears, suddenly fell.
His eyes started to blur as tears clouded his vision,
He couldn't understand, why was he crying? It was just a simple question.
And yet, it was...supposed to be that way,
But he couldn't...despite being called a genius,
He couldn't answer right away.
"Faegan...are you still there?"
