Chereads / NEW YEAR AND AN APOCALYPSE / Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: PASS THE MESSAGE

Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: PASS THE MESSAGE

155 froze still, as Sellena asked,

But she smiled and hid her intentions behind such sly mask.

She accepted, though her face showed shock,

Sellena sure is trusting, for someone deemed smart.

"I...I have to go," 155 said in a hushed tone,

Sellena's eyes were turning greener, and soon she bids her farewell,

As 155 left, creeped out as hell.

When all left and Sellena was alone again,

She felt sadness and depression seeped through her skin.

She remembered her brothers, but she decided not to think of them much,

Feeling such loneliness, won't help her with her task.

Suddenly, the marking in her arms glew once more,

As she felt frantic and in turn, broke the mirror.

She hissed at the shards, some hitting her feet,

As she wished, the poor mirror, she could rebuild.

She imagined putting them back together without touching it,

A dream ability, she hoped since a kid.

And out of the blue, she felt a glass-like object come out of her hands,

And she couldn't help but feel, the warm sensation in her palms.

The slate like thing, she thought could be a variation of the barrier,

Went through the wall, and cracked it a bit further,

The noise sent some nearby maids, to quickly aid her,

As Sellena stood there frozen, her foot bleeding faster.

Their faces showed horror,

Not knowing what Asmo would do if they found out of such accident,

They apologized and begged for being absent,

As Sellena once again assured them that they're innocent.

She told them to leave, as she would take responsibility,

As Sellena picked the shards herself, after her foot was fixed.

The bandages and a few medicinal plants was all they got,

But for Sellena, it was still a lot.

Such pain, was nothing compared to how the others may be suffering,

Sellena actually felt guilty, able to do nothing.

She blamed herself, for not being able to do enough,

She's like a sheep, surrounded by wolves and traps.

She sighed again, thinking of her misfortune,

When she remembered, the woman who smelled of expensive perfume,

She knows that smell, it smells like Lucifer,

And that mark on her forehead, she swore she've seen it many times before.

Concubines.

Lucifer's concubines!

That's right!

But why should she serve her?

When she's half as high as a wife?

She bit her lips as she thinks it further,

What in the minds of that Lucifer?

Could it be that they're checking on her?

Or was 155 really genuine?

What are they after?

She wandered through Asmo's closet,

Looking for any enchanted objects,

But the tiara he gave her was broken,

And she doesn't know how the others work or what it's for.

She fears she'd release something she can't control,

So just fixed things up the way they were before.

She looked at the window, and opened it to see the view,

Then, a sudden memory flashed from her mind...

she heard someone sing a tune.

She was in a perspective of a young man,

Singing as he watches the other work and cry,

He laughs at their misfortunes, and when he saw someone not working,

Jumped off the tall balcony, and released a big slate to support his footing.

Sellena then saw that the young man mercilessly shot the worker's throat the moment he lands,

As he then heard Satan laughed and taunt the bleeding man.

His neck spurted out blood as he begged for mercy,

But the man kept beating him, leaving him a corpse, drowning in blood.

He doesn't pity.

A woman, who Sellena deduces must be his wife,

Screamed at the young man with all she can,

But she too, was shot by shards of glass,

Slicing her body, a million chunks, at the same time dropped.

Sellena then went back to her reality,

Almost puking at witnessing such brutality,

Was that young man, a spirit which entered her body?

Was he somehow connected to her identity?

She cries as she remembers the scene,

Bloody fingers, and bloody screams.

But then she remembered the slate, she can use it to escape,

Though risky, it may be the only thing to change her fate.

She stands on her bed, and prepares to jump,

As she tries to release the slates with both hands,

But she failed, and she dropped,

But though a bit hurt, she chose not to give up.

She put her pillows on the floor,

As she went back to the bed for more,

Many attempts was wasted as she gets more bruises each time,

But without pain, there'd be no gain, and that's not fine.

She slaps herself lightly to encourage herself,

As she prepares to jump, adjusting her breath,

She closed her eyes, praying this be it,

As she prepared to jump, only for the maids to barge in.

(Oh my, have Asmo's wife turn mad?)

One of the maids, couldn't help but ask.

And though it was not spoken, Sellena knew what she meant,

Her eyes says it all, she is acting strange.

"Are you okay? Lord Belphegor hears your activity,

He requests you keep it down,

Or he'll cut off one of our heads,

Please have mercy."

Sellena was so irritated,

Now, how can she do it?

With so little choices,

She doesn't know how to escape.

Still, she tried to master the slate without jumping,

Knowing that it may solve everything.

But one day was not enough to harness the ancestral powers,

So she didn't improved, didn't even know what to do,

if the young man was alive,

He'd probably laugh at her.

She took a heavy breath, and dropped to her bed,

Her hair in a messy style,

As she naps for a while.

It was depressing doing nothing,

Isolated in a small room, given your things,

It was as if she had lost purpose and a sense of being alive,

She was like a fish, trapped to live such dull life.

Life sure was boring, without no one to keep company...

...

155 laughs at the note,

Making fun of the sweet scented paper.

She read the sentences with such exaggeration,

That it made Sellena's letter feel like a childish delusion.

Haborym looked to 155, and demanded why she's too loud.

The concubine looked at him, "Look, what I found!"

"Tsk, you didn't 'found' that, it was given to you, am I wrong?"

"Hm, yeah, so give it to Lord Asmodeus. It's a letter precious Sellena wrote."

"And you opened it without permission?"

"It's okay, it's not like they caught me in action,"

"You really have to change your manners,"

"Uh, yeah, sure. So just make up some excuse."

"Hm, let me have it then,"

"Okay, but ask me like a friend."

"Seriously? Look, I'm being serious here,"

"And? I'm serious too,"

"Fine, can I please have it?"

(I'm losing patience.)

"Oh, sure! Here it is...FRIEND,"

(I'll kill her after this.)

"Tsk, you crumpled the sides,"

"I'm sure Lord Asmodeus won't mind,"

"You're just jealous, aren't you?

That they're in love and you're not?"

"Tsk, stop telling me that."

"Then stop being a brat."

"Fine. Sure, whatever, you win,"

She earned a warning glance from Haborym,

But that doesn't seem to faze her,

So she seductively smiles, as Haborym turns away,

making a new sealed envelope for the letter.

"You're really no fun."

"And I wish you're gone.

You're too cocky for your own good,"

"Well, 'cause I'm hungry and I need my food,"

Haborym takes a deep breath and looks at her again,

"Behave yourself and I'll feed you those pancakes, but you have to wait,"

"Okay, deal. I'll just sit there and be pretty,"

"*sigh* You'll be the end of me."

.

.

.

"Wait here. I'll send the message to Lord Asmodeus,"

"Yeah, it's not like I can do anything except wait, stop being obvious."

"Please act your age...

I'm begging you.

I'm close to my limit,

And I promise you,

You won't like it."
