Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: SILENT RIVER

I told them what had to be told,

"Look at this crazy guy, he's kinda bold,"

"Sir please, believe me, I swear,"

You now have the chance, to be saved,

please beware,"

The old man laughed at me,

While the others just ignored,

The children were speechless,

While the others are just bored.

Timothy, one strong man,

Held a knife and to me he ran,

"If you don't shut up with all your blabberings,

I'll end you right here, if you continue speaking,"

"But sir it is true, why won't you believe me?

They told me of what, could be our greatest enemy,"

"What you know is worthless, you're just a scared little chicken,"

"I am just saying, what the angels have spoken,"

"You don't even know if they exist,"

"I know they are, than you at least,"

Rage filled his eyes, as he rose his knife,

It would have been the end of me,

in one full strike,

But Mar held him for me, irritated and annoyed,

If she didn't interfere, my death I won't be able to avoid.

The mute woman, gave him a sharp look,

"I don't even know, why we give this lunatic food,"

Timothy, defeated, sat down on a corner,

"Thank you, Mar, I owe you my life, forever."

She looked at me briefly, then walked pass,

I know she is angry, but I know it won't last,

She looked at the window, then gestured to the others,

Something about the monsters, had sure been a bother.

It was quite some time, since we heard them cry,

The hungry snarls have sure subside,

Some one behind me gave a long sigh,

"Have the monsters grew tired, so hungry they died?"

I took a peek, and they were all laying flat,

"They look dead, if not then I don't know what,"

Said the elderly lady, who then smiled at Mar,

"What if we can go outside, grab food from afar?"

Mar unsure, threw a bag to the sleeping bodies,

The corpses didn't moved, didn't growl at anybody,

Then they rejoiced, finally they stopped from moving,

No noise, no gnawing, no worry about falling.

But amidst their happy cheers,

Came my biggest fear,

What if it's what the angel told me?

That what we see, isn't as it seems?

I warned them, till my mouth ran dry,

"Keep yelling, but you won't convince us, as hard as you try,"

"Aren't you happy? We can go out there and live as before,"

"Unless you want to suffer some more,"

"Silence can be violent,

Violence can be silent,

That might be a trap, don't you think?

What if it's a pit, we're about to sink?"

They laughed some more,

"You really are pissing us to the core,"

"Tim, check it out for this little whimp,"

"If you are wrong, you'll be eaten limp by limp,"

He didn't listen, then laughed away, as he walk,

"Blah blah blah, you little chicken only know how to talk,

They're dead as could be, see it's safe,

Everyone can come down now, don't worry I'll wait,"

None of the bodies move, but what could this mean?

Are my dreams really just dreams? And not what they seem?

People followed Tim, and the bodies still didn't move,

But I stayed as they go, because I know I have something to prove.

This might be ambush, this might be it,

This might be the part, where they get eaten bit by bit,

But one sickly child, walked up to my side,

"I believe you sir, to God's will I won't abide,"

And so we looked together, at the people who can't stop laughing,

The bodies were kicked, split apart, they kept on kicking,

"See pussy cat? We're here, and we're not dying,"

Until I noticed, one of their rotten fingers were moving.

"WAIT! MAR IT'S ALIVE!"
