Jinko kept writing on his papers, trying to conduct a plan on how to capture Gabby.
JANE: Hey, 'sup Jin-
JINKO: Her soul is very rare! So we need to get her no matter what!
JANE: O...kay?
JINKO: Hey! Why don't you sound optimistic? Don't you want to catch her too?
JANE: Yes, but...how? That Red has a strong companion beside him. Maybe we should just look for another...or maybe you should just stop with your hobbies. After all, what have you gained by collecting pretty souls?
JINKO: Satisfaction of course! All this nice things, I feel like the world don't deserve them! Plus, they're really cute, don't ya think? Look, *shows off collection and the souls trapped in magic jars* don't you think they're adorable?
JANE: Ugh. If only Monica didn't assigned me as your partner, I wouldn't have helped you all the time.
JINKO: Mah, you'd still come either way. After all, you like me.
JANE: Hey! I do not!
JINKO: It's kinda obvious, you know? I'm not dense, so I clearly know. Don't think of me as those typical types of men who couldn't sense admiration when they see one.
JANE: You're so unfair! You know and you'd still chase after all this poor souls!
JINKO: It'd be a waste if they just turn into those stupid reapers and faeries, right?
JANE: Hmph.
JINKO: What's with the face? Ain't suiting for a girl like you.
JANE: Whatever. Mark my words, one day, you'd miss me more than ever!
JINKO: I'd miss you more like never?
JANE: Not funny, dude.
JINKO: Just kidding, bro. Hey! Where are you going?
JANE: Don't ask! And don't try to follow me!
JINKO: *snickers* As if I really would! *resumes to write on his notebook*
Jane sadly flew her way atop the rooftops and slowly look at the sky.
JANE: That idiot!
JINKO: I can hear you from down here, ya know!
JANE: I hate you!
JINKO: Okay!!! You too, mate!
JANE: You suck a lot, Jinko!
JINKO: Thanks! I learned it from you!
JANE: Oh no you don't!
JINKO: Uh, yeah I did!
JANE: Ugh!!! You're so annoying!!! GOSH! I hate your-
JINKO: Perfectly handsome face?
JANE: Ew, no!
JINKO: Very attractive wings?
JANE: Yuck, no way!
JINKO: Or...you like my very alluring voice, am I right?
JANE: Just shut up, please! Leave me alone! I don't like you anymore, got it?!
She sighed a long sigh, then proceeded to look at the sky. Stressed and saddened, she tried to deny her feelings. After all, he don't see her that way.
JANE: *softly* I hate the fact that...you're right...and I really like you still...
...
*Janes' back story*
A girl, who've been on an abusive family...
That is what she is.
Her mother, though caring on the outside, was beating her when drunk of alcohol.
She had always been the punching bag of her drunk mother. And no matter what she does, she had never been good enough for her. Perhaps because of her father? Because it reminds her of a bitter memory of him?
Because she looks like him? That her mother wanted to beat her up so badly.
YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO IRRITATING! I WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND HAVE YOU ABORTED! YOU'RE USELESS LIKE YOUR FATHER!
Those words weren't painful.
The bruises and cuts on her body were screaming. So much that she couldn't hear anything.
That went on for 19 more years. Even as a young lady of age 23, she was helpless. She wasn't brought to school, her mother lied that she was home-schooled. But all she really knows was how to count, read and how to write. She don't know places, don't know a variety of food. And much more, don't know how to socialize.
Her sufferings subsided a bit when she noticed a white dove always looking at her from the open window.
She smiled. And she decided to come closer to the seemingly friendly bird.
"Hi little bird, are you lost?"
She felt so happy...it was the only company she has. And as if it heard her, the bird came closer and perched to her extended arm.
She felt so happy. She felt accepted.
"My, my...you look wonderful!"
The bird walked up to her shoulder and rubbed its body on her neck. The dove was cold.
She decided to give it a clean piece of cloth to rest.
The bird trusts her so much.
But at night, before she goes to sleep, the dove flies away to the nearest tree. Its eyes, still looking at her.
Jane couldn't help but feel happy.
Their company went on for many weeks.
Until her mother came home drunk again.
Jane shook in fear when she heard her mother's screaming, demanding her to come down. She felt so afraid that she locked her door.
That was when the bird came beside her. As if to tell her not to worry.
But even if the door was locked, somehow her fear clouded her memory of her mother having keys to her room.
Her world seemed to fell apart when she saw that her mother this time, was holding a butcher's knife!
Her mother quickly stabbed her side and yanked her to her bedside. She was crying, and bleeding to her death.
The dove flew to her mother's head and perched there. The mother still drunk, tried to get it away from her.
Jane felt terrified as she saw her mother getting closer and closer. The bird's complexity made it difficult for her mother though. And in an unfortunate turn, the mother tripped and accidentally stabbed herself.
Jane was both horrified and relieved, but due to the quick turns of events, fell unconscious. When she woke up, the bird was already a humanoid creature.
Jinko.
"Do you want to come with me?"
She didn't think twice. She took his hand, and that's when she realized she was already dead. As they both stare at what used to be her body.
She's still happy though.
And perhaps Jinko, being her saviour was the reason she fell hard for him.
They were best friends.
But that's just it...
Nothing more and nothing less...
